Scher's

I'm posting a 1 star because I can't post lower. I've never felt more robbed in my life than from this joke of a shop. If I wasn't made to come to this I wouldn't have. It smells like a funeral home and it's crazy that you would have to spend over $250 to borrow a suit for a day when you can buy the same suit at boscovs or another similar shop for $100 less. No thanks

Such a fun experience! All staff were helpful and friendly; Judi was so accommodating and made the process easy and fun. $ doable

Just the sweetest most accommodating people. We have 3 girls and we've never been disappointed for homecoming, prom and now wedding. High quality. Well done.

We have used Schers in the past for Prom Dresses and went there first to shop for my daughters upcoming wedding. Judy and her team made us feel welcome and did everything they could to find us a dress! while everything was beautiful, we just didn't find "the one." Certainly not due to any fault of Schers, but my daughter had in her mind exactly what she wanted, and that is understandable! I would certainly go back should I ever need any formal wear and know that I would be treated well!

All of the staff were very helpful, warm, and welcoming. I told the consultant the type of dress I was envisioning and there wasn't a single dress I didn't like on. 10/10 would recommend

My daughter experienced a last minute change that involved not only change of plans, but we actually moved the wedding to Tennessee. Marc and Judi were phenomenal and the absolute best. I can't say enough about how appreciative we are! Highly recommended

I would like to say that I had a very wonderful experience at Scher's. From the moment I stepped in I was waited on, and treated as a valued customer. The ladies were great in helping me pick out a dress for my son's wedding. Very patient and professional.

I'm truly surprised there is not more negative reviews. When I shared my experience with my friends and family there were so many similar stories to mine I decided to come write my review. Firstly, the store was not clean. Even with that aside the staff was entirely too overbearing and did not listen to one word of my preference or price range. But when we finally decided that this was no longer the store I wanted to buy my wedding dress from was when the staff started to criticize my figure as if it was me that was the problem.

So if any of the staff that was working that day is reading my review I would like to say to them that shopping for a wedding dress is supposed to be an amazing and beautiful experience. You made me feel anything but that and you should feel ashamed of yourselves. How a company like this stays in business i will never understand. I would like for people that have similar experiences here to please post about it even if it helps saves just one woman from feeling this way should be an accomplishment. ( and fyi I found and amazing shop in downtown salisbury, they were so kind and encouraging. They really made this experience everything I had hoped it would be)

I came here yesterday with my Mother In Law and one of my bridesmaids. As far as their selection goes, they do have a rather large amount of bridal dresses to choose from. But upon walking into store, I was too distracted by the clutter and the lackluster appearance. One of the associates, let's called her Kay, was too pushy for my taste; she kept introducing me to dresses that I found too plain or not in my style.

I don't even know why Kay was out on the sales floor anyways when she claimed that she was the "woman that puts the pins in with the seamstresses." When I did find a couple of dresses to try on, I was walked to the tiny fitting rooms which could've doubled as linen closets. After finding a dress that I did like, the same pushy sales associate, Kay, kept saying that she tried to show me the dress before when I was browsing.

She kept repeating that she's the one that found the dress and that it was her idea. This immediately put me off, so I walked out of the store empty-handed. The girl that helped me fit into my dresses, Angie, is great. I would give this place another try if they cleaned up their appearance.

My mom and I took a ride down to Scher's since she heard it was "the place to go" when it came to everything related to wedding attire and she was searching for her Mother of the Bride dress. I called a couple days ahead of our planned visit to see if we needed to make an appointment, and I spoke to Mrs. Scher on the phone and I was told just to show up and they would take it from there. It's pretty easy to find if you are familiar with the Lower Shore area.

My mom and I were not, but it was still very easy to find and there was plenty of parking along the main road. I was really skeptical at first since the exterior of the building looked something straight out of the 50s. However, once you walk in the door you are almost overwhelmed by the selection they have. What I really liked was how I was able to roam the store and look at things that were of interest to me -- mostly veils and headpieces without feeling pressured into one or the other.

I bought my wedding dress in Boston (and certainly couldn't bring it with me on my trip to my parents' in Salisbury) but I had a picture of it and Mrs. Scher showed me what would work well with my dress. Mr. Scher and I then talked about some of the best kept secrets of Boston while my mom tried on dresses. My mom commented on how they worked with her to find a dress that worked well for her without having to compromise what was comfortable for her.

They are a family business that is very customer-friendly. I would definitely recommend stopping by Scher's to find your wedding dress or at least just to get a feel for what works best for you. If you're looking for great service and great products, this is for you. Plus, the quantity and the variety of dresses available -- both wedding dresses, bridesmaid dresses, and MOB dresses -- can't be beat.

Ultimately my mom did not end up getting her MOB dress from her since she bought one she saw on a whim online from Dillards. But the experience at Scher's was awesome and my mom would definitely return if/when my brother gets married.
