Dimitras Bridal's Accessories

I wanted to update my review post-wedding. Everyone at Dimitras has be nothing less than stellar throughout the whole process. My fittings went well, and they were very communicative on what was being altered. I received thorough instructions for how to keep my dress looking its best once we picked it up, and they were very clear on documenting everything.

They steamed my dress and packed it up right before my mom came to pick it up, and the whole thing went smoothly. Seriously, thank you so much for helping me find my dream wedding dress, and for making this process so pleasant.

We loved our afternoon at Dimitra's! Our stylist Macy was super fun and brought a variety of styles to the table during my appointment. She ultimately ended up picking my dress perfectly! She really took the time to get to know me and my style and exactly what our vision was for my bridal look. She also helped me customize my look with all sorts of fun accessories! Loved the experience 10/10

Just a quick update because I am disappointed to have had many additional brides reach out and share their almost identical experience that has happened since I posted this! Prior to posting to Yelp, I shared my feedback directly with Dimitra's and their response was exactly this: "We have addressed this and taken every possible measure to correct the behavior and ensure that this will never happen to another bride again." So if you are reading this Dimitra's.clearly whatever you addressed didn't work.

It leaves me thinking, this has to be coming from the top. Some of the gals that reached out to me shared almost exact bait and switch pricing "Alterations started at $900, then went to $1200, then went to $1500" and feelings like they had to oblige or the dress would be ruined or they wouldn't have time to go elsewhere. I just find it hard to believe that a legit operation would allow one employee like my original post referenced to operate like this and not lose her job, therefore I can only assume this is standard practice. Go elsewhere!

Highly recommend stopping by here for all of my Chicago brides! The dress variety is awesome. Ask for Erin - she is AMAZING. I went to an embarrassing amount of bridal stores and she is hands down my favorite associate I worked with. I felt like we were besties by the time I left the appointment. She completely got my style and was not pushy in any way. Erin is so genuine and helpful, we were thinking of all these crazy combinations with the dresses and she was pulling out all the stops to make it happen! THANK YOU THANK YOU!

I cannot say enough about how incredible the management team is at this bridal store. Aside from their incredible selection of inventory, both Maria and Ismini went above and beyond to ensure I walked out a happy customer and that my gown on my special day is nothing short of all I desired. When describing my dream dress at other bridal boutiques in the area, they all told me I'd find it at Dimitras. They truly are the best at what they do. Thank you!

Going to Dimitra's bridal for my wedding gown was one of the best decisions I made in the wedding planning process. Their dresses are absolutely stunning and the stylists and management team was amazing! I had a quick turn around and they made everything work out for me. Alterations was quick and easy and It was honestly, the dress of my dreams. Thank you for everything, Dimitra's!

Stay away! They made my fiance put down a $350 down payment. Rescheduled her to a time that did not work. They refused to refund the amount initially, after explaining they offered to refund a partial amount. Guess what, they lied! No refund was ever issued! Scammers gonna scam. Please beware of their lies.

I knew from the moment I walked into Dimitra's, I would find my dream dress there. They have the most stunning assortment of dresses. Which makes it very hard to pick just one! I explained to my stylist what I was looking for and she found the exact one I had in mind! Trumpet style with an over skirt. I'm 5'2 so I knew whatever dress I got would need to be shortened.

So that's when I met the seamstress, Dorina. A piece of advice to anyone getting their dress alterations at Dimitra's, trust what Dorina says! She altered my dress to fit like a glove. It was absolutely perfect! She is very talented and knows exactly what needs to be done. I had the best experience at Dimitra's bridal and would highly recommend them!

Obviously being engaged and getting married is one of the best experiences you'll go through.but 100% without a doubt, could not have picked a better place to go through my dress buying experience. I've never dreamt of my wedding day or the dress I'd wear and Ismini knew exactly what I wanted and needed within seconds. She didn't push me, she was honest, and she truly wanted me to be in something that made me feel like me.

I can't post this without giving a shout out to my girl Marrissa who also made this experience one of the most memorable and is truly one of the most selfless, amazing individuals. Also must give it up for Dorina who is a wizard. that dress fit me perfectly. I ended up picking a beautiful Romona Keveza gown. It made me feel like me and I'm so thankful for the entire experience.

Where do I begin?! I truly cannot say enough about Dimitra's, and the wonderful team of ladies, who go above and beyond to make each bride and their families feel so special! It was the very first salon I stepped into after my engagement and I couldn't be happier that I did. Although I had an overall vision, I went in there open to options. They really take the time to get to know you, which is key.

They're so good at understanding each bride's look and personality, I ended up with the very first dress I tried on. From the headpiece to custom touches and details, Dimitra's is a full experience unlike any other. It's truly like shopping and prepping for your most special day with your closest friends. Dimitra's is a must for any bride in search of a welcoming, individual experience with one of a kind options. I picked up my dress in July and miss the process and each of these ladies already!

I cannot say enough beautiful things about this bridal shop. I bought my wedding dress through Dimitra's and had the most wonderful experience. Being 5'-0 and curvy makes finding a dress a bit stressful. Each member of their team was so understanding, helpful, and accommodating. I was able to find a stunning Valentini dress that complimented my body so well, making me feel so beautiful on my big day.

From each knowledgeable consultant to the seamstress that flawlessly altered my gown, I was so impressed by the care and passion Dimitra's team has for their brides. Thank you, to the entire Dimitra's staff, for all that you did to make my experience so special!

Dimitra's Bridal Couture is the very best bridal shop I visited! I flew in from out of state for my bridal shopping experience. I went to several shops in Chicago, and all were nice, but Dimitra's completely stood out above the others. Their consultants, dress selection, and willingness to go above and beyond is what makes them so special. My consultant, Nancy, made the entire experience so enjoyable and relaxed, and she picked out the perfect dress for me. I got married two years ago and still receive compliments about my dress. I always respond "You have to visit Dimitra's in Chicago, they are the best!"

I had the best experience at Dimitra's, finding my dream wedding gown. I showed Ismini a picture of a style and designer I liked, and all the dresses she brought out were spot on. In fact, I ended up getting the first dress I tried on and only had to try a few others to know it was the one. They work with your budget and don't try to stray away from it, making sure you only spend what you're comfortable with. I also got my dress altered there which was so worth it. The entire experience could not have been better!

While I did not end up purchasing my wedding dress here, I cannot recommend this salon highly enough. The ladies who worked with me (Erin, and another young woman who had only just started working there, she was awesome!) were so kind, so understanding, and made the experience so much fun. I felt NO obligation to purchase a dress or make a decision right then and there, they were more invested in me finding my dream dress, even if it meant that dress wasn't from them.

The salon is a beautiful space with racks upon racks of stunning gowns at a very inclusive price range. No matter what kind of bride you are, this salon has something for you with a ride range of styles, silhouettes, and price ranges. Bottom line, I highly recommend this salon to any bride-to-be. They are warm, welcoming, and very good at what they do.

Couldn't have asked for a better bridal shopping experience! I came here last minute after hearing many positive recommendations and was swept off my feet! Erin was the lady assisting me and helped me find the perfect dress. I really was planning on just looking and had no intention of finding "the dress, " but Erin was so great at making it a relaxed and fun experience and listening to preferences that after a few trials, we found THE ONE!

Everyone was so welcoming, professional, and supportive and you really feel like you are a part of the family in this family-run business. If you're looking for a dress- look no further than Dimitra's!

I was very excited to visit this store because they have lot of the designers I've been obsessing over! I was pretty disappointed. The consulted I worked with wasn't bad, but was pulling dresses that weren't what I asked for. They were okay, but not what I showed her or asked for. Also, the dresses were VERY rundown! I know they're samples but geeze, could they stitch a hole up?

They were also very clearly worn, tinted yellow, not white or bright or anything (when you could tell they were once white). We also had another consultant be very rude to my dad, told him to "MOVE" when he was standing off to the side. Overall, I wouldn't waste your time. There are a million beautiful wedding dress shops in Chicago!

I got my stunning Gali Karten dress today from Dimitra's and had such an amazing experience. I worked with Erin and she is absolutely wonderful. I kind of walked in like a crazy person tornado and immediately named the dresses I wanted to try on because I was so excited. Erin jumped right in and was super patient and flexible with me and my crazy parents and immediately put us all at ease.

She was so fun and easy to work with. I had a very specific idea in my head of what I wanted and Erin just 'got' it and had great suggestions and I really appreciate her thoughtfulness and creativity. I had another appointment scheduled elsewhere after Dimitra's and Erin was super accommodating for us to come back after that because I was pretty sure that was the dress I wanted. It was truly an amazing day. Thank you so much Erin!

I highly recommend Dimitras bridal. The staff has been over the top helpful and accommodating throughout my dress shopping process and alterations. I was torn between two dresses and they not only made suggestions on how to bring in elements of both dresses but the seamstress went above my expectations with her modifications of my dress. I cannot speak highly enough about Dimitra's.

I also had the pleasure of working with Alicja, and had a wonderful experience! In fact, the first dress I tried on was the dress I bought! My budget was $5,000 and my wedding was 8 months from the date of my visit. No rush charges applied! Dimitra's was my first bridal salon I visited and I had a specific Pronovias dress "The Ramir, " that I thought was "IT!" Alicja told me that dress was part of the 2019 spring collection and it wouldn't be available in time for my October wedding.

She could see I was bummed, but said, "I can tell the style of dress you are interested in, lace or a jeweled bodice and trumpet skirt, " and came back with 5 great options. The first one was very similar to the my top pick, it was by designer Enzoani "Melinda, " dress. Both my mom and I liked it, and I tried on a few more and when the appointment was almost done, she asked if I had any other appointments?

I said yes, and mentioned Ultimate Bride and Mira couture. Her response, "good and try on more dresses and make a decision!" I was shocked! No pressure at all and I get to try on more dresses? Sounds like a plan! 2 salons later in the same day, and 15 more dresses later. I kept comparing every dress to the first one! And I knew towards the end of the last appointment, I was heading back to Dimitra's!

I rang the bell, and sure enough, Alicja answered and said, "you're back!" I asked to try on the dress again, and she said definitely, and asked the famous "are you saying yes to the dress?" And I said, "I'm saying yes to the dress!" Out came the champagne and order was placed! They also altered my dress, Agnes did a wonderful job! It looked absolutely beautiful and fit perfectly!

I highly recommend visiting Dimitra's as part of your wedding gown shopping experience! They have a wide variety of styles, designers, gorgeous accessories, veils and mother of Bride/groom evening gowns! The staff is very friendly and helpful too! Thank you so much for making my day unforgettable!

I purchased my gown from Dimitras in late 2018 for my October 2019 wedding and had such a wonderful experience! From shopping where they did not make me feel pressured or rushed - to the fittings and pick-up, we loved every part of the process! They helped find the perfect veil to match my Romona Keveza gown and made sure the dress fit me perfectly!

Very disappointing experience overall. My sister in law was looking for her wedding dress & had issues with Dimitras from the start. They were rude when she confirmed her appt, then when we got there, the consultant rushed her and had a bad attitude immediately. We asked for water, as the bride was thirsty, and the consultant responded with, "I'm helping the bride right now, I'll get to you later." Okay?

The water was actually for the bride, but sure. She continued to be rude for the duration of the appointment. The ambiance left much to be desired, as well, as the store is pretty worn and run down. Considering the gowns they sell, you would expect a cleaner, more updated facade. To be honest, it was probably the worst bridal dress shopping experience I've ever been a part of, and I've been to almost every bridal store in the city between my own wedding festivities & those of my friends & family.

Most stores have friendly, outgoing consultants, champagne/water upon arrival, and a much more inviting environment, overall. If you're spending $3-10k on a wedding gown, these things should be a given, in my opinion. They also have a four guest limit, just FYI. There are plenty of other options in this area of Chicago - I would definitely recommend skipping this one.

Came in to pick up my gown and forgot I had to still choose a veil. Rebecca, even though I dropped in and didn't have an appointment, was extremely welcoming and happy to help. She was personal, not pushy, and gave useful/ realistic suggestions and advice. I would definitely recommend her as someone to book an appointment with!

Had such a horrible experience in this store, we've never seen such poor customer service. Woman helping us didn't even introduce herself, said no to any question we had, told us to "go find it yourself", and clearly didn't care to make this a pleasant experience for an exciting occasion. We also saw another worker roll her eyes when working with her bridal group as well. Save your time and dignity and go somewhere else.

I recently purchased my gown at Dimitras and couldn't be happier! For months i shopped around, went to bridal stores in the area, and was unsatisfied with the selections, service, and aesthetics of the stores. When i stepped into this store I was in awe, it's an absolute dream. It was picture perfect, and Ismini and the rest of the staff (especially the owners, Maria and Tina) were very professional, and you could tell they cared by the effort they put into making my experience memorable.

I came with my parents (wanted an intimate moment with them) and they treated my parents with so much care, made sure they were enjoying the experiencing as much as i was. The selection of dresses was beautiful, Ismini made sure to listen to what i wanted and with her expertise was able to find me my dream dress (a beautiful lace Reem Acra gown)! I can't wait to go back in a couple of months to try on my gown and work with everyone at the store again. I know i'll be treated with care and that my special day is as important to the Dimitras team as it is to me!

I visited Dimitras on Black Friday and it was my first time trying on wedding dresses. Overall the experience was very positive and I had a fun time with my mom. The consultant was very helpful and gave us a few tips to help us through the whole process since we were newbies. I didn't end up choosing a dress from there but it was definitely in the running.

They were offering 10% off for Black Friday weekend so that was a nice perk. They also offered to ship the dress to somewhere other than Chicago to save on sales tax. If I had any comments it would be to offer water since we had to ask once we were getting fairly parched towards the end of the appointment. Little treats like chocolates or a sip of champagne would have made the experience special as well. The salon is also a bit hard to find as it is up on the third floor of the building across the street from Gibsons.

Dimitra's is incredible and Natasha was fabulous! Honestly, we ended up here on a whim, but there is no where else I would recommend! Natasha is such a fabulous human; kind, patient, and was able to handle my rowdy group! Tina was amazing with accommodations and listening to my ideas to add to my dress. Needless to say I found the dress at the first store! Go there. Spend some time. Share your vision! So much love & thank you Dimitras!

This was such a disappointing stop for us as we searched for my friend's wedding dress. We made an appointment during a trunk show for a designer she liked - my friend's first stop for wedding dress shopping. It's so sad because the whole experience turned her off completely. Our consultant was very abrasive, rushed my friend, tried to pressure her at every turn, called her style 'plain', seemed to get very annoyed & frustrated when she didn't like her suggestions and didn't enjoy any input from my friend's cousin.at one point telling her, "NO!

She doesn't like that!" when she held up a dress asking if she'd like to try it on. Um what.let my friend speak for herself, you met her twenty minutes ago. When my friend's cousin said she was going to look for dresses around the store, the consultant rushed after her, leaving my friend in the dressing room ready to try on a dress, and proceeding to follow the cousin around telling her things were WAY out of my friend's budget. Oy vey.

She muttered something to a fellow consultant at one point in another language, as well, no idea what was said but I can only assume it wasn't complimentary. My friend tried on six dresses than our consultant said there was nothing left for her to try on. Um what? In a shop full of dresses? And she was only able to try on one from the designer she liked.and it was quite atrocious. I've been a maid of honor 5 times, bridesmaid 10x and have never seen anything like this in all the dress shops I've been to.

This has everything to do with our consultant and not much to do with the shop other than them hiring her. However, we did find the dresses to be quite matronly and not worth the prices, but what do we know. We saw one beautiful dress another lady was trying on while we were there but the rest were very meh. Just our opinions! We got the strong feeling that her 5k budget wasn't enough while there as it was mentioned to us a few times. That's insane to me.

The consultant even said to my friend "Are you a doctor?".just totally randomly. The strange thing is, my friend is a doctor. However in what world should that make any type of difference?! On another weird side note, all the other parties got champagne, but we were never offered any. Sadly this was such a disappointing experience, I felt tremendously horrible for my friend and I can't in good faith recommend any future brides to this shop.

I had a pleasant experience at Dimitra's with Ismini and Tina! The girls made the entire process more fun than imagined. Once I told them my budget, they pulled out a ton of dresses for me to try on: Marchesa, Zuhair Murad, Atelier, Reem Acra, Pallas. I was most impressed with the Marchesa and Murad gowns. Given I just tried on some dresses, and my wedding is this May, I was told I needed to find a dress promptly to have it on time.

I was conflicted between the Murad a-line gown and the Marchesa mermaid style. but towards the end of the fitting, they realized the Zuhair Murad gown could NOT be ready by mid-May for my wedding. The Murad gown was very elegant, and my family loved it; however, the Marchesa style I wanted was the sole winner. It was everything I wanted: style (mermaid), color (ivory), fit (sexy and elegant), bodice (tailored and boned), embroidered and sequined tulle (beautiful), train (embroidery/sequins extend throughout), and matching veil (stunning).

They pulled out a Malis Henderson veil that beautifully complemented the Marchesa dress. I was sold. I also bought a Keveza belt that we strapped to the Marchesa dress. It blended so naturally and gave the dress and waist that oomph we wanted. I also opted for the crinoline to be built into the dress, as opposed to wearing a separate garment. They can do it, and it's much nicer this way.

Once we said Yes to the Dress, we all celebrated with a champagne toast over laughs. They have hair accessories, as well. A one-stop shop. I'd highly recommend, and I'd especially recommend Ismini! Loved her!
