For more than 20 years, Chris Colton has been a wedding DJ, emcee, and entertainer. He has performed at hundreds of weddings and parties since 1995, been the DJ at weddings across the country in 9 different states, but primarily now performs near home in Libertyville.

Our song library contains over 25,000 songs from every era and every music style. We have music from Big Band, Jazz, Swing, Vocalists & Easy Listening, 50/60's Oldies, Motown, Disco, Rock, Country, Rap, Hip/Hop, current dance and the hot hits you love today! As a DJ, Chris is enthusiastic, fun, flexible, creative and just a perfect addition to meaningful events. What's more, as an event vendor, Chris is professional, responsive, thorough and above & beyond in ensuring he meets his clients' needs. He would be an incredible addition to any event and I would wholeheartedly recommend him to any local couples planning their wedding day.
Fun story - I booked Chris on just a few hours' notice. The original DJ for my brother & sister-in-law's wedding hadn't confirmed any event timing or details with the couple and was completely unresponsive the morning of the wedding. Not so great. As a bridesmaid & an event planner all I saw were red flags. I jumped in for the poor bride, so she could actually you know, prepare for her day.
I found Chris via Yelp and placed a call. A super awkward one in which I had to share that, oh yeah, the date of the wedding was today. Miraculously Chris was free that evening, familiar with the venue and willing to jump in. About 90 minutes later he was loading in and setting up. I had literally texted him song titles for key parts while getting ready and he kept very incomplete and messy information organized and in the correct order for the ceremony. What's more, during the cocktail hour, he took the time to get the bridal party's names correct - down to the pronunciation - for the reception introductions.
He also spent time getting to know the couple, and even worked with the bartender to be sure guests of honor were never without a beverage. Finally, his DJing during the reception was incredible! So much fun with the perfect mix of classics, new songs and special requests. At one point he even joined in on the dance floor to keep the party going. It was such a great mix of music and once the dancing got started it continued straight through to the end.
I appreciated how attentive he was to details and how seamless it was to work with him in a time crunch. Even having just worked with him for one day, it was so clear he takes time to get to know his clients and how he can create a perfect event for them. He's very much the type of wedding vendor who will make the entire planning process smoother and more fun for couples. I cannot say enough good things about working with Chris and think he'd be the perfect addition to any wedding or event!

I was looking to have Elite DJs for our wedding but after an extensive phone call going over everything and ending on a great note, I never heard from Chris again. I asked for the follow up information he was supposed to send but never received it. I am a huge fan of good communication, and this was very poor communication. Not entirely sure why he stopped responding.

Chris Colton DJed our wedding at Cuneo Mansion last summer in Vernon Hills, and we had an amazing dance party! He is fun, relaxed, easy to work with, and will make sure all of your guests remember your wedding reception as the best dance party they've ever been to. Seriously, so many people told us that, and we had our wedding on a Sunday night so we were worried our family and friends might not be as willing to stay out late dancing, but his awesome DJing kept the party going until we shut our venue down. He went with the music we wanted, but also suggested some fun ideas about music to us.

When you plan a wedding you work with many, many vendors and I can easily say that Chris was the best. Honestly, probably my favorite part of our wedding was that the dance floor was hopping ALL NIGHT, and we owe that entirely to Chris. He has the ability to read a crowd and make sure he has just the right song ready to go. Aside from being a great DJ, Chris was also easy to work with.
He had some forms that made things easy and organized and he was very accommodating when we wanted to meet with him. He took our requests to heart and worked to make our wedding exactly how we wanted it by making the right announcements and letting us decide on a "must play" and "do not play" list (both my husband and I had seen some DJs at wedding lately who seemed to be making it all about them or came off as cheesy and Chris didn't do either).
Finally he was great with our other vendors, making sure the photographer was ready or dinner was served before moving to the next part of the night. Overall I cannot rate Chris highly enough and I guarantee you will not go wrong by booking him for your event.

Chris was the wedding for our DJ and was great! He was really flexible with music selection and made sure to accommodate all our requests. Best to connect with him via phone as email wasn't always best, but he will make sure to lock everything down as it gets close to the big day. A true professional that will make sure your wedding will go off without any issues.

Just perfect! We hired Chris to DJ our wedding on 1/31/15. He was SO great. Above and beyond and not just a DJ. He was the first person to get me a glass of wine at my own reception! He took pictures of people during the night, connected to my family, friends and the kids on the dance floor. He is outgoing, energetic, friendly and seemed genuinely excited to be at our wedding. I would absolutely recommend him!

Two proper nouns - Chris Colton. He literally MADE our wedding at Cuneo Mansion. He kept the party going from start to end all the while making it intimate and jovial. We were constantly being asked if he was a personal friend of ours! I could not recommend anyone as highly as I recommend Chris Colton with Elite DJs - we had the time of our lives and danced the night away! THANK YOU, Chris! You rock!

When we hired Chris and Elite DJ's for our wedding I knew we were going to have a blast! He did the music for our ceremony and reception and everything was PERFECT! My husband and I really wanted our wedding guests to have a blast and dance the night away and that is exactly what happened! Chris made our wedding everything we could have hoped for and more!

Amy and I called Chris October of 2012 because we wanted him for our wedding October 12, 2013. Our wedding was at the Abbey Resort in Lake Geneva and Chris made it a party we will NEVER forget. Chris is very detailed which you will appreciate as he knows weddings and will remind you of things you may have over looked. He met with us to sign the contract and his personality and energy won us over right away.
He gave us a document that details the whole night and made it easy to plan out and not worry. We also purchased a photo booth and up lighting which is a must for any wedding. People from the wedding still are talking about the dance floor that night and wild times in the photo booth! Chris takes pictures while your friends are dancing and took all requests.
The dance floor was packed, everything went great all night long! At the end of the night Chris gave me the mike to thank everyone and I also said Chris Colton rocked the House! Great job and if you need a DJ that will go above and beyond, ring this guy, you will thank him later!

If I could give 4.5 stars I would. Let me preface this with the fact that John, our DJ, was AMAZING! The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was because in the beginning communication wasn't very great with Chris as far as setting up and signing a contract. Also, based on all the reviews I wanted Chris to be the DJ at our wedding and it was a bit of a surprise when I found out he was already booked and John would be our DJ.
I also live in Denver, whereas the wedding was obviously in Chicago. I had to ask for a face to face meeting because our taste in music is a bit different from the average and we weren't following the traditional format of a wedding as their planning form was laid out. As soon as we had the face to face meeting with John I was assured we made the right decision. John was very attentive to our taste in music.
He was able to bounce great ideas off of us based on some initial songs and bands we wanted to be played and his passion shined through when we got so excited to learn about a new band (Denver band). He had people dancing all night and went above and beyond his duties. I didn't have a wedding coordinator and John worked very well with the bartenders and caterers to make sure champaigne was served in time for toast and that cake was displayed for the cake cutting or people were ready for the buffet.
He even announced when tables can go up to the buffet! Also, we are HUIGE Hawks fans and he was able to incorporate our love of the Hawks into the wedding (our wedding was during the final Stanley cup playoffs round) very tastefully. He provided many different options for guests (also huge Hawks fans) to be aware of what is happening during the game, We changed plans last minute on the game and John was able to roll with it. He was incredibly personable, professional, and talented. I would recommend Elite DJS to anyone!

I will make this review short and sweet because if your a bride you have a million things to do! My husband and I had Chris for our wedding and he was awesome. It was hard for me to let go of control with all things wedding related. Chris was the DJ at my sisters wedding and I new he would do a great job and could read what the crowd wanted to hear. We had so many compliments on our music, everyone danced, drank, and had a great time. That only happens with a great DJ like Chris.
