I explained over and over again how important the music was during my wedding. The DJ was dressed like a homeless bum who rolled off a cardboard box. All of my guests were talking about it. He got rude when I told him to turn off the elevator music, then proceeds to play Whitney Houston's "I wanna dance with somebody" while people are eating. He was the worst DJ I have ever even heard of! He was disrespectful and rude and I will NEVER EVER EVER even think for a second to book him again, not even if they paid me!

I wind up hiring another DJ from a wedding that I had attended, however; Tom appeared to have great customer service! He sounded very happy and friendly. I don't know how much truth there is to the bad reviews as there is always two sides to all stories. Even if mistakes were made in the past, it doesn't mean he doesn't deserve another chance! I gave him four star because I haven't seen Tom's work.

The only reason I hired DJ Tom Gavin is because he was offered through my venue and they spoke highly of him. I was in communication with Tom via email, text, and over the phone on multiple occasions leading up to my wedding day. I felt comfortable that all my requests would be on point. However; the day of the wedding came, and although my ceremony music I choose and our 1st dance song was correct (thank God for that) alot of songs were played that were not on my play list and songs I chose that never got played!
I also communicated with Tom that there were to be absolutely no songs requested by anyone unless it came directly from me! Somehow; I song I did not want played, for personal reasons, got played because someone was able to request it. I felt like that sabatoged my wedding reception in a way! I'm not even 100% sure it was Tom Gavin, himself DJ'ing the wedding. He never introduced himself! Save yourself alot of trouble and do some research! Do not hire this company!

I would recommend that you not use Tom Gavin's DJ Delights. He was not a good DJ and after agreeing to stick to the list he did not. He played what he wanted and only went to the list after being asked by several people. I just read the reviews on google about this company and they all say the same thing. Had I know this was what I was going to get I would have booked my own DJ.
He did play some songs on my list but I know my guest an d their idea of Deejaying is to play a bunch of line dancing songs then they suck. Had he look at the list and at least stuck to the artist I would have been okay. A deejay needs to have some energy and he was just blah. Worst Deejay EVER!

DO NOT BOOK WITH HIM. I wish I could give 0 stars. 10am the day of the wedding he called to say the photo booth was broken and he would send his assistant if he couldn't make it. He did not answer calls the entire day so the bride was anxious and in tears. Luckily his assistant showed up, but he didn't have the list of songs and completely ruined their first dance by making them stand in silence for 5 minutes while he searched for their song. He also was horrible at announcing people and made so many mistakes. She never got the photo booth she paid for either. He was beyond unprofessional.

While the DJs did a nice job at our daughter's wedding, they played the wrong version of the song for her to walk down the aisle. But more importantly, two unauthorized debits were made to our account resulting in overpayment of the contract by $801. After the first of these debits in April, our daughter spoke with Tom after playing telephone tag for weeks and he assured her this would be rectified.
After the second of these in June, multiple phone calls were made with no response, including after the wedding on October. Only by calling in December as if to hire as a new customer did Tom return our call. He assured we would hear back within 2 days and it would be taken care of. After a week we have still not heard back. Great DJs, terrible business practices.

I have to say that I'm still hurt by how Tom Gavin did my wedding. He sold my husband and I from day one. Great talker but does not deliver! Of all the things that we didn't trust at the wedding he was defiantly one who we trusted. Well, he came to the wedding late! He had someone else do our ceremony who was clueless. We had to play our ceremony music via a cell phone.
Prior to the ceremony we were googling the ceremony music on our phones. DJ Tom came strolling in late during the reception! No apologies! No nothing! We never got to dance with our parents. When he approached us about it 10 minutes before our send off the mood was different and the moment lost. He played 1990's music and nothing from the website portal that we asked him to play.
On top of that our honeymoon money was absorbed because the day of the wedding he charged the entire amount on our card. We couldn't get in our hotel because we had no funds! He is a great guy with a big personality but I can't say professionally I walked away happy! I hope this message will inspire him to do better because he is talented; however I will not be using him again.

I am extremely disappointed in the service I received. I was assured that Tom would be the person there for my event and that there would be 2 people there due to the challenges for the venue accustics. We also discussed speakers set up on the farside of the venue so that people on both sides could hear. None of which occurred. No one was able to hear us being announced into the hall or the speeches.
After multiple conversations with Tom prior to signing a contract, I trusted that the company would be able to appropriately DJ my event. This was definitely not the case. I will be sure to make sure that NO ONE I know will ever use this company ever again. I do not appreciate being fed false information and then having the first half of my wedding ruined by the stress of what happened. Completely unprofessional.

Terrific salesman, shady business practices. Be very careful before you give your money to Tom Gavin! I hired this company for an event on August 27, 2011. Unfortunately hurricane Irene came through the area on the same day and ruined our plans. Furthermore, it caused mass power outages in the state and unsafe driving conditions for anyone to leave their homes that day.
While the caterers and the party hall all graciously provided refunds because of the unfortunate and unpreventable cancellation of my event, Mr. Gavin retained all of my money without providing any services. His only response to me was that "he is not in the business of giving refunds." Please use caution if you are considering using this company for your event, they are currently under investigation by the Consumer Protection Division of the Maryland Attorney General's Office as a result of their suspect business practices.
