White Gown

Brides-to be, The White Gown is a mandatory stop in your search for the perfect wedding dress. I have been to this shop twice to get a wedding dress. The first time I had a wonderful experience, but they didn't carry the specific dress I was looking for. Five months later my wedding situation changed, and I found myself looking for a new dress less than three months from my wedding date.

I contacted them. They immediately went into troubleshooting mode and found me the perfect dress in less than a week! I cannot say enough good things about The White Gown. They really take care of you, offering a personalized wedding shopping experience. And their facilities are really pretty.

Laura offered 5 star service on the day of my best friends wedding today. There was a question of how to bustle her dress and Laura FaceTimed in with us to walk us through how to bustle the dress! What more could you ask for during a stressful moment on the brides day!

I was not impressed with my consultant at The White Gown. She was not friendly or welcoming toward me and my guests, and only became attentive towards the end of my appointment when I expressed interest in one of the dresses. She did help me accessorize the dress, though it took some prodding from my mother and MOH. When the consultant asked why wouldn't I purchase the dress right then and there, it felt like all she cared about was getting me to buy from them.

She then urged that I had to order the dress ASAP, otherwise it might be discontinued in a few weeks. Meanwhile, they literally got that dress in the store earlier that week, and it was part of the designer's newest collection. They claimed that supply chain issues could lead to new gowns being discontinued because the fabric might not be available. Well, I ended up buying the exact same dress at a different boutique a month and a half later, with no issues or concerns about timing! TL;DR: I really did not like how pushy the consultant was just to make a sale.

Carole is amazing and I highly recommend checking out The White Gown. The boutique is so pretty and luckily we came on a nice sunny day so the inside was bright. I spoke with Carole about what I liked and some of the other dresses I've tried on. She brought several choices to try on and two immediately made the top of my list. She provided the best service I've experienced in getting in and out of dresses.

She was also great in keeping conversation light throughout the appointment. It feels magical coming out of the dressing area to the mirror with sunlight coming in from the windows. I didn't end up getting a dress at the end of the appointment but I had a great experience and highly recommend.

I had very high hopes for this place, because I loved a lot of the gowns on their website. I brought a list of several designers that I liked, and arrived early with a friend and a family member to check it out. We were asked to wait by the entrance, where we waited, and waited. We were not given any updates until I asked about 15 minutes into my appointment time.

The person in the front did not seem to care, and responded that they were running 10-15 minutes late, as if it was normal. I had booked another appointment immediately after this one, so I was not happy about it. They were not sympathetic at all, and simply shrugged and said nothing when I said I had another appointment in 45 minutes. Not even an apology.

We were not even offered a chance to browse through dresses. When our consultant finally arrived, we were already 20 minutes into the appointment. She didn't introduce herself or even apologize, but just lead us to the back. I was already unhappy at the treatment we received for the past 30 minutes while we were waiting, and was not in a great mood.

She seemed very indifferent and un-enthusiastic, which made the whole experience worse. I forced myself to stay just because I had already paid for the appointment. She pulled only the dresses that I had on my list, none of which I liked on me. It was a little bit discouraging. I only liked one dress toward the end, that I pointed to on the rack near where we were stationed. I wish the staff was more enthusiastic and empathetic.

I worked with Laura - the owner - and had a great experience! She's incredibly knowledgeable and was able to help me find exactly what I wanted. She was accomodating of my whole party as well as myself, and I would highly recommend brides shop here.

My visit to The White Gown was seamless from start to finish. Carole, the stylist who helped me, listened carefully to my preferences and feedback, and was able to propose a variety of beautiful gowns for me to try. Her calm, confident professionalism made it a truly enjoyable, low-pressure, stress-free experience. I'm so happy to have found my dream dress at The White Gown!

My experience at The White Gown was beautiful! Carole totally understood the vibe I was going for and honestly every dress she pulled was out of the park- the dress I ended up going with was a total dark horse that she didn't even pull at first- we arrived at it while organically trying different things, sort of like a stream-of-consciousness journey that led us to a way "out-there" dress we pulled just for fun that then ended up leading us right to the dress of my dreams. She was so fun and sweet and my mom/maids of honor and I had a blast with her. Couldn't recommend enough!

Our consultant (and the entire staff) was super rude and seemed supremely disinterested in the appointment. Dingy salon with run down furniture, didn't smell great. The consultant had me change in front of her, which was awkward - I hadn't encountered that at other salons. The dresses were out of style and very dirty (gowns I saw for full price that were on discount sample sale racks at other salons).

I left about halfway through the appointment because I felt uncomfortable and sad- just didn't like the vibe. The owner (identifying herself as such on the phone with another client) was there and seemed as disinterested as the consultant. Also, no masks, which is different from what I've seen at other places (though yes, not against the rules).

I was in here shopping with my friend and I have to say I have never been treated so poorly in any store in my life. I felt they made -- incorrect-- assumptions about what she could afford by their deplorable attitude. Her salesperson didn't even take her measurements. The owner-- the owner!-- was sitting at the computer by the door as we walked out and didn't even say goodbye.

Give me a break you guys. Lose the attitude. I've never been treated that rudely at the bottle return at Whole Foods. This was truly disgusting. Go out of business and save people the effort of having to write angry Yelp reviews.

I initially purchased my dress from the White Gown in June 2019 and am only now getting to wear it in two weeks due to multiple covid postponements. I had already started my alterations process when the city shut down in March 2020 for my original May 2020 wedding. Despite starting and stopping the process multiple times and many hurdles I am very happy with my dress! Laura the new owner is absolutely fantastic and was so helpful and accommodating during this process.

She is consistent, responsive and very professional. Elizabeth who works in the boutique currently is incredibly sweet and positive. Their new location/ showroom is also super nice. Would highly recommend!

Could not have asked for a better experience at The White Gown. I had been to 3 other bridal salons and liked the dresses but I found THE dress here! The salesperson who helped me, Daniella, was excellent and listened to everything I wanted in a dress. After seeing me in a few gowns, she asked if I would consider trying on strapless because she had one in mind for me.

Up until then I had been adamant that I didn't want a strapless dress but I decided to give it a whirl and low and behold, she was right and I knew it was my dress! A few days later, when I changed my mind about the veil I picked, Laura helped me figure out another option even though their cancellation/exchange policy is very explicit. Fantastic team to work with in every way and I can't wait for my dress to come in!

This review is for customer service only as I've not received my dress yet. I had a TERRIBLE experience at the NYC flagship Pronovias store (do NOT go there) and contacted The White Gown to see if I could order my dress from there instead. They answered immediately and set me up with an appointment very quickly. When I arrived they had the dress waiting for me and were very kind and helpful.

I definitely recommend them based on customer service alone. The only thing I wasn't jazzed about was having to use their alterations but it's not the end of the world. I will update if anything goes wrong with the dress itself.

I had an awesome experience here and ended up purchasing a sample gown! Dress shopping here was a personalized experience (we were the only ones in the shop most of the time) but also relaxing and without any kind of sales pressure. Laura understood my vision from the outset and pulled a handful of gowns. They were all great, but I had a top contender that I ended up coming back and purchasing later that day after an appointment elsewhere. I also really appreciated how they worked with my budget. Absolutely no complaints!

I had ordered a dress on loan from the designer through The White Gown and made an appointment to try it on about 2 weeks after ordering. I hadn't heard anything about the dress arriving so decided to inquire about it 2 days before my appointment. Thankfully I did this because I found out the dress had in fact been delayed and would not be available for about 3 more weeks.

This would not have been a huge deal if they had told me this sooner but I was fully prepared to trek into the city, pay for the train and taxi, only to arrive at the store and NOT be able to try on the dress I already paid a fee to order. I'm giving 2 stars instead of 1 because they did refund me right away.

I haven't bought a wedding dress yet, but I've been to three different places and The White Gown is the best experience I've had. I was really nervous when I started looking for dresses because I'm around a size 20 and I was worried I would be made fun of or pressured to lose weight or pick something "Flattering". Nothing like that happened.

I was totally blown away by how welcoming they were, and truly surprised by how much fun my friend and I had during our appointment. My consultant did a really great job of helping me understand how every dress would look if it actually fit me, and made me feel beautiful. I loved that we were the only customers in the store during our appointment, we got very close personal attention. I'm not sure my dream dress is there, but I truly loved the experience and would recommend The White Gown to anyone looking for a relaxing and validating bridal shopping experience. They also do in house alterations, which I think is a great sign.

I had such a perfect experience! Great shop! After going to tons of bridal shops over and over, I was almost ready to give up and about to pick a dress that I thought was just Eh ok. I went to the White gown to check out the Watters brand, which I love. I worked with Nayyara - she texted me right after I made my appointment online and I told her some styles I was interested in. Went in and tried on a few different options; all were great but one was just right. The shop feel was calm and relaxed. Was very clean and I was the only customer there, so felt very safe from Covid. I'm so glad I found the shop! :

Incredible experience! I'm a bit on the larger side and had to visit many stores before finding one with dresses suitable for my physique. the owners of the white gown were incredibly accommodating and made me feel like the only customer in the world. I ended up picking this Beautiful French inspired gown and after only a few months it was perfectly cut for me and I'm sooo happy! I can't wait to get married now to the love of my life in my dress from the white gown!

I have been working with The White Gown for over a year now and they are wonderful! Their new salon in SOHO is gorgeous, I had to pinch myself to remind me that I wasn't in a dream! Nayara was beyond amazing to work with, she has so much passion and care for her clients it makes the experience truly memorable. I highly recommend looking elsewhere. My dress was ordered wrong and this could not be rectified before my wedding day. It was also late and only after I contacted them several times, I was advised that it was missing. I was scrambling when it inexplicably showed up without explanation or apologies. The management is the worst I've ever encountered.

Honestly, I would not recommend this place. During my first visit, I saw a dress that I loved. They quoted me a discounted price that was perfect! I went back to the store a few hours later to make the purchase; however, when I went to pay the price was much more expensive than what they had originally told me : We eventually agreed on a price, but the whole process just felt icky like a bait and switch scheme. I wound up buying the dress, but the whole money screw-up totally deflated the moment for me. Such a bummer.

Jacob is the best! Super helpful and so friendly and he even followed up with me after my appointment via email. He really listened and made sure I got to try on the dresses I wanted and made the whole experience so much fun, even though I came alone!

I made an appointment to stop by the sample sale this weekend. I honestly didn't know if I would find my gown, and was going to cancel the appointment. However, my mom was in town and really wanted to see me try on gowns. I came in thinking I would want one style of gown- honestly thinking I wouldn't ever have that "bridal moment". I almost walked away after trying 4-5 gowns, but Courtney refused to give up on me!

After seeing my face looking at another customer who was in a stunning in a gown, Courtney wanted to try a different approach. She went to the back and pulled out two more. I tried these on and I all of a sudden felt like a bride. However these two weren't it either. Courtney went back AGAIN. This time it was magic! I love my gown, and Courtney did not give up until I had my bridal moment!

I found my gown! It is gorgeous, and makes me feel beautiful. To top it off my birthday the following day after the appointment, Courtney even sent me an email saying how nice it was to meet me and wished me a happy birthday. Excellent experience today. Many thanks to Samantha for making this a fantastic day for my daughter, the bride, her sisters, my mother and the mother of the groom. We were hoping for a personal, boutique experience and you did not disappoint. You had a great selection of dresses with reasonable prices. You really understood my daughter's special style even better than she did.

When Samantha made the selection, that was it! The tears started flowing and we were all blown away. I can't believe the dress is ordered. Thank you again. The best things about the experience were that: the studio is small, so my family and I were the only ones there and it felt very personal and intimate The stylists listened to what I wanted and helped me to decipher my own likes/ dislikes Dresses are fantastically priced I went without any strong ideas of what I wanted in my wedding dress, only knowing some details I liked and others I didn't like.

My stylist, Samantha asked a few questions about my wedding plans and took a look through my Pinterest board and then presented me with a dress that might as well have been made for me. I tried on a few other dresses that my family and I had pulled off the racks first, and as I tried on, both Samantha and another woman who worked there (sorry for forgetting your name!) commented on my reactions to each dress and my facial expressions more than how I looked in the dress, helping me to allow my opinions dictate the session. Ultimately, when I tried on "the" dress, I knew right away it was the dress, and I wouldn't have found it without Samantha looking through my Pinterest board and deciphering exactly what I wanted when I couldn't.
