It is a beautiful venue but my "get ready room" was across the campus. In addition, June weddings are very popular, causing all reception rooms to be utilized simultaneously. Lots of noise and VERY loud music. We had a lovely ceremony on the south lawn, despite the fact it was very breezy. The staff was helpful.

We had our wedding reception here early Fall in November in the Bayview Room and can not recommend Marina Village enough! The venue is beautiful and the vendors are absolutely timely and amazing. Thank you to the wonderful staff at Marina Village for making our memories something for the books!

Worst place for a reception ever. Kicked out the wedding couple 2 hours before the event even ended. Bride was balling over the security kicking her out of her weeding before it was even over. I would never recommend this place to any event ever!

Hi tonight I was invited at this wedding and everything was really good so far into a little security guy show up with papers saying that time is aspire everyone needs to go we're in the middle eating dinner. I guess they miss calculating the time. At this point everything went down to hill everyone needs to evacuate and leave the place. Can you imagine if it was your wedding. was so sad to see what happened she was crying and she left without saying goodbye to everyone she went home and cry more.

I cannot believe The security guy not allow them to stay and have a good time. What I saw they both left and he take his future wife home so you need to think about this place before you make a reservation. For your wedding I don't know what to tell you but was really really disappointment cannot be repaired because it's your precious time for your life.

I know it was a mistake and timing by the security let them finish their wedding but instead he came and ruined the whole thing it's very sad I want you to think about before making plans to do your wedding in this company.

If you plan to rent a room from Marina Village, read this first. On August 23, I rented the Vineyard Room from Marina Village Conference Center. It was for a function that was planned for September 18th. The cost was $500 + a $200 damage deposit, which was to be refunded if there was no damage to the room. In addition, it was stated that I had 72 hours (3 days) to cancel the room.

If I cancelled within 72 hours, I would be refunded the entire cost of the room minus a $100 administration fee. On the fourth day (96 hours), I became aware that the function I had rented the room for was called off. I tried to contact Marina Village to see if I could cancel the room and get some sort of refund. It took me nearly three hours to finally get the person I needed to talk to.

I had been told that she was very busy with a number of people in the office waiting to talk to her about renting a room, and a number of people on telephone-hold wanting to inquire about renting a space. I was advised to keep trying to call until she was able to answer her phone. When I finally got her on the phone, I told her what I was trying to achieve.

She replied that I was past the 72 hour period and there was nothing she could do for me. I told her that I was one day late, and that she still had 3 weeks to try to rent the room to someone else. I also told her that if she made the room available for rent to someone else, but she found no one who wanted to rent the room, that I would, of course, expect to pay the full amount. Further, I told her that it didn't seem reasonable for her to continue to charge me for the room, and then rent the empty room to someone else (essentially, doubling the amount of money for the room rent).

She replied that she couldn't rent the room to anyone else unless I submitted a written request to cancel my rental agreement. At that point, I said, "Are you saying that if I submit a written cancellation, and you rent the room to someone else, then I would be due a refund?" She told me, no. I would still be charged for the room, but with a written cancellation from me, they could then rent the room to someone else.

I asked her what my motivation to cancel the room would be, if I was still going to be charged the full price? At that point, she said she didn't have time to argue with me, and ended the conversation. During our time on the phone, she kept referring to the 72 hour cancellation policy as if she was powerless to do anything about it. While I agree that the contract did include the 72 hour deadline, it's good business to try to work with a potential client to arrive at some sort of reasonable accommodation.

It took me 3 hours to get her on the phone because she had so many people trying to discuss renting a room, she had 3 weeks to re-rent the room before the September 18th date, and, I made it clear that if she was unable to find another person who would want the room, I would pay the full amount. All I was asking her to do was make the room available to anyone who might want it, and if that didn't work, I would accept my responsibility for the room rent. Take this commentary for what it's worth.caveat emptor!

Inexpensive for events. I've been here for a wedding and a work Christmas Party and have even considered this venue for my own wedding. It's pretty, the ambiance is breathtaking. The venue is affordable by itself. There are a couple of rooms that are nice. Some of them though are dingy and old. They definitely do need to renovate those rooms. (Some have a modern feel but I believe you rent those through the actual catering company) The lawns are pretty on each side, whichever you choose to have your ceremony at.

They both have the boats on the marina in the background. I only took video of the rooms which I can't upload, but if you google images or Yelp other reviews you may catch a glimpse of what they have to offer. If you're looking for an affordable place. This may be it. They're pretty efficient with emailing pricing. I definitely would recommend checking them out. They have a venue for every budget and are flexible with what you're looking to do.

When planning our wedding, my husband and I were looking for something that was beautiful and EASY, and we found exactly that with Marina Village. We planned a wedding for April 2020 at Marina Village in the Bay View room, and had a wonderful experience with planning. Pricing and requirements were completely up front and transparent, and the staff were a delight to work with.

The rules around timing, vendors, and on-site restrictions are beyond generous, and gave us the freedom and flexibility to really have a wedding that was exactly what we wanted but easily stay within our budget. AND it's BYOB (with insured bartender), which is so hard to find in San Diego! AAAND they offer free overnight parking for guests, and a 15% discount on room blocks at The Dana down the street.

Unfortunately due to the county-wide lockdown for COVID-19 two weeks before our wedding, we had to completely cancel all of our plans last minute. Marina Village was not only completely open in communication and empathetic in a time that must have been so difficult for their business, but they also gave us a 100% refund even though we had already paid in full.

They did not have to be this gracious and understanding, and plenty of other wedding vendors/venues did not respond in the same manner. We want to thank the entire staff at Marina Village for being so wonderful to us throughout the entire planning process. We ended up eloping, but we hope to hire Marina Village again for many celebrations to come, and will recommend them with the highest regards to all of our friends.

I had a boat in the Marina for a couple of years. I told them a few times that it was for sale and they acknowledged that in their files. Once the transaction closed on the sale they honestly tried the "sorry you didn't give us a 30-day notice" to try to get just one more month of rent. Just a bunch of thieves.

Marina Village was such a great location for our holiday party. There was plenty of parking for free. The pricing of the room was affordable. We found the venue on Yelp and called to set up an appointment to view the venue. Julie showed us around the location and we were able to view a lot of rooms. Julie was so helpful in answering all of our questions and throughout the whole process.

They provided a list of trusted vendors such as catering, decorations and DJs if we needed them. We chose the starboard room and had a recommended vendor, Pedro's Lighting, decorate the room. The room looked amazing on the day of the event. Pedro did such a good job decorating the room- it was beautiful! We also rented tablecloths from the venue and when we showed up the room was all set up in the way we wanted and with the tablecloths.

We were able to set up for the event starting at noon even though the event was not until later in the day. The venue was very accommodating. We ended up not wanting as many tables in the space so they removed them from the room for us. We just had to make sure at the end of the night we took everything out that we brought in, including the trash.

There were garbage cans all over the property so taking out the trash at the end of the night was not a big deal. Overall I highly recommend this venue. They were great to work with and very professional.

First thing I noticed when I walked into The Seaside Room was the smell of old urine. My husband and I looked at each other and both said, "Ew!" at the same time from the odor. Dirty, dark, dated, and rundown rooms with old and dingy bathrooms. The food was awful and we barely ate any of it. Pasta tasted like it was rinsed in dishwater and the "Alfredo sauce" was a gloopy, tasteless mess.

We ate very little. Maybe our standards are higher, but I cannot imagine anyone choosing this dated, cheezy venue for anything other than the view! They are really ripping people off if they don't update this venue, and quickly. I don't care how good a deal it is, I would never go back.

Looks like Marina Village has pretty much stayed the same since I got married here in 1987. Every time I'm invited to a wedding at this venue I'm all "heck ya I'm in". Love this venue. Aside from the memories of my own wedding this place has a spectacular view of the bay. Lots of parking and seems to be more reasonably priced than other venues.

You also have numerous catering options so you can individualize your own experience. Wedding pictures with the backdrop of the marina are beautiful and this is the place to get that.

One of my friends had rented out the Vineyard Room for a baby shower, which is the most affordable event space I know of! Not only is it affordable, but its right by the bay and beaches, and they have their own private parking lot. They have multiple rooms/areas to rent, and prices vary depending on the day (week day/week end). Be sure to call them or check out their website for pricing!

The Vineyard Room was at the far right of the whole plaza, and was made of two rooms. One main room with a bathroom, and a second room with windows facing the bay with all the boats. Multiple entrances, clean bathroom, and outdoor grass area where they have weddings and such. Although the space was very sufficient, the interior needs a MAJOR renovation.

The carpet literally looks like its from the 90s or older! They should really update it to wood or tile flooring at least. But they also have tables and chairs for you to use as well. Overall, great location, but definitely needs some updating.

Let's be honest here and call a spade a spade. Mv is a place you book if you have a low budget for an office party and hate your employees, didn't get a lot of money for the folks for your wedding, or work for the county and get stuck here for a conference. It's gross, it's old, and it's rarely clean. The bathrooms are pretty rough, and since they're shared community bathrooms, they're kind of like invasive surgery: you never know what you're getting into until you open it up.

Likely compounding the depressing feeling of being boxed in a room that smells, has poorly working AC, and uncomfortable chairs, is the fact that this pal e is literally in one of the most beautiful places you could imagine. Like, if they even tried just a little bit, this place could be The place. But it's not. So know what you're getting into, and don't try to pretend to your coworkers, employees, wedding guests, etc. That it's anything other than what it is; a place of necessity based on budget.

I've attended a few conferences here. The village is very scenic with a view of the marina in the back. All the buildings are named with a nautical theme in mind, and the actual rooms are fairly spacious and I've had no problem hearing the speakers. Parking is plentiful. The only negative at my last visit was that it sounded like there was some kind of construction going on in a nearby room which made it distracting during the class I attended. I also noticed that all the doors and windows were open during our class so I'm not sure if the rooms have A/C.

Came here for a wedding reception on saturday at 4pm. The Reception took place in the Seaside room. Had a little patio area for appetizer food and cocktails. Amazing view of the sunset and great photo opportunities for areas close by. The seaside is very spacious didn't feel over crowded at all. The room had a dance floor, photo booth, bar area, food table, guest sign in table, and present table and restrooms conveniently located inside the building. Just to show how much you can fit in the room. Although there are more restrooms located outside. Staff worked hard to clear our plates on our table.
