Paper Rock Scissor is a custom stationery studio specializing in wedding invitations since 2008. Our passion is creating wedding invitations that reflect your unique style to help set the tone for your event. Long before your guests pick out what to wear, where to stay or what gift to give, your wedding invitation is the first way they engage in your special day.
We have made our process as easy as possible, and our Etiquette Guide is here walk you through it. Let's get started! Anywhere from 6 - 12 months ahead of your wedding day. Tell us about your wedding and we'll help you hone in on when the perfect time to mail is for you. We suggest mailing a little later if you're hoping that not all 75 cousins make the drive up from Indiana, or earlier if your destination wedding guest list is only your nearest and dearest.You don't need to have all the details figured out to send out your save the date cards, but you should have a firm date and city.
We recommend mailing your "save the date" cards six to twelve months prior to your wedding date to allow your guests ample time to plan their travel. Wedding invitations should be mailed 8 to 10 weeks prior if your wedding is local or 12 weeks prior for a destination wedding. Plan a 6 to 9 week window for your invitations to be created before your mailing date. If you want to get started sooner, even better! We love savoring the process with an extra cushion of time as well. Why rush through the fun?

Paper Rock Scissor was wonderful from the start! Getting the chance to go and look at samples really helped me figure out what I wanted and they walked me through every detail of the process. The finished product was beautiful, and I really felt like it was perfect for the whole feeling I was going for on the day. They were easy to work with, responsive to feedback, and everything was done right on time.

Wow. We were married in May of 2021 and like many were a postponed COVID wedding. We were so worried about safety and being able to have our wedding that we ended up scrambling for invitations way too close to the wedding date. The team at Paper Rock Scissor were life savers. They were responsive, efficient and went out of their way to get things done so we would have beautiful invitations and paper products ready for our day.
The invitations matched the venue beautifully and we were really able to curate them to our preference with the multiple proofs they provided. Several guests said they were the most beautiful invitations they ever saw. Paper Rock Scissor designed my wedding invitations and day-of pieces and did a FABULOUS job! Liz and Maggie were so easy and fun to work with, and they had so many great ideas! In the age of online stationers, we appreciated the extra customization (Liz and Maggie had a local artist do watercolor images of our city skyline and our ceremony and reception locations, which we LOVED!) and personalization that made our invitation suite unique. We absolutely loved working with the team at Paper Rock Scissor. They were so helpful and creative at every stage of the process -- from helping us design visuals that we loved to providing advice on invitation etiquette. We worked with them on invitations, programs, place cards, and signage, and were so impressed by the quality of the product and the fantastic customer service at every stage! Most talented, hands down. I've worked with Maggie before on previous stationary so there was no hesitation in reaching out to work with her on our wedding stationary. Her attention to detail is immaculate, her work is stunning, and she's just a good human; kind, friendly, responsive and all around awesome. I was continually impressed by every piece she put in front of me. When I was lost, she gave me amazing recommendations and samples, and any idea I had, she found a way to incorporate.

We loved working with Maggie and her team at Paper, Rock, Scissors! PRS created our wedding invites and they completely reflected the design we were hoping for! They were fun, the invites were unique and unlike anything we could have ordered online. The price was completely reasonable for the custom design work involved. What a wonderful experience we had working with Paper Rock Scissor! As the Mother of the Bride I was nervous and excited about each and every detail. Kate and Maggie made the experience of choosing wedding stationary a dream! My daughter and I so enjoyed working with them. They are so friendly, caring, creative and detailed. and don't forget fun to be around. Knowing that Kate was taking care of each and every personalized wax stamp was the best feeling!: We have already recommended Paper Rock Scissor to at least dozen people!
