First time visit, I ordered the Wasabi chicken sandwich and it was fresh, light, and delicious. I expected it to be warm but was pleasantly surprised when it was cold. Nice place for a light lunch. Only $20 for two good-sized meals with a side salad. Asked for no tomato on the sandwich and didn't specify no tomato on the salad, but they thoughtfully removed them as well. Would definitely come back!

The server at the counter was extremely rude. We came in shortly before 11 and had never been there before. We told her that. She handed us menus. We sat at a table to look over the menus went back up to the counter at 11:02 and she said breakfast was over. We specifically drove 30 minutes to try their breakfast. I know help is hard to find now but really?

Awesome coffee and tea. Not sure about the food but everything I saw come out looked delicious. My only complaint is the noise level for a tea house was extremely loud and the bathroom was kinda gross. We could barely hear each other over the 4 other tables in the whole place. Obviously as more people came in the worst it got. Next time I'll grab and go.

A good little cafe option in Edwardsville! This cafe would be a lot more appealing to go to if the inside wasn't so bare and undecorated. The prices at Teaspoons are pretty average compared to other places in the area. Both of the sandwiches were pretty tasty as well as the cinnamon roll! I did think that the side salad was pretty basic and I thought the poppyseed dressing would be better, but it was literally only oil. They did get our order out very quick, and have a great iced chai latte!

We went for breakfast and the food was very good! The quiche was made perfectly. The slices were a little small for the price. The quesadilla was great highly recommend! My iced vanilla latte was also good. The customer service needs some work. The front cashier when asked what the quiche flavors of the day were he just pointed to the sign on the counter. He was not friendly and did not give good direction. As this being my first time to Teaspoon I was not pleased with the customer service.

It had been one of my first times going to the cafe. I had only heard about the restaurant but had never taken the initiative to try it out. I was served by Maria that took the time to spark a small conversation with me. Made my overall experience wholesome and memorable. I will be returning if there continues to be staff members like her!

As a 2016 SIUE graduate, Teaspoon Cafe is a staple in all of my travels to Southern Illinois. The staff here are extremely knowledgeable about their various tea and coffee offerings. The staff are friendly and never mind recommending a drink to their customers. I can only speak on behalf of their breakfast food, but every item on that menu is delicious and will leave you satisfied.
I'd recommend the breakfast burrito with green chili sauce. It's large enough to share, but with a big appetite, one can easily finish it alone. If you're looking for a treat to bring home, their cinnamon roll is great and is even more yummy if you heat it up just slightly.

We were visiting from out of town and found this place online. From the reviews and pictures I expected MUCH better quality. The Mayan mocha sounded delicious but tasted like chocolate milk with zero espresso added. My partner received and omelet with rubbery bland eggs, even worse the filling was just kind of globbed in there and cold in spots. I ordered a plain bagel.how do you mess up a bagel?
You buy stale old bagels and semi toast them until they're a combination of overdone and underdone, to top it off.a cream cheese "spread". We would have been 1000x better off eating at the hotel or even a fast food restaurant!

This is the second time I've been disappointed with Teaspoons. Several months ago I ordered a caramel roll, only to discover they had mistakenly used salt instead of sugar with the cinnamon. When I called to report the issue the person who answered the phone laughed and said she'd let them know. Today I ordered a chicken salad sandwich for lunch.
There was a long piece of brown hair in it. I called to ask if the employees wore hairnets and was told "no". Well, they should. Again, person on the phone said she'd let them know. For the price Teaspoons charges for all of their items, things like this should not happen, . In addition "letting them know" is not a good enough response.

I've enjoyed breakfast and lunch at Teaspoons, and think most coffee drinkers can't do much better than their Kaldi's brews. However, on a curbside pickup, which is a current focus of my reviews, I was not favorably impressed. I ordered curbside pickup on the "Toast" app, and as instructed by the app, phoned the number when I arrived.
Two calls separated by five minutes went unanswered. Patience is not one of my strengths at lunchtime, so I decided to go inside. Unfortunately, I was directly behind four other customers in a what appeared to be a single party, no masks, who conversed with one another while figuring out their order. I understand you can't wear a mask while eating, but most places I visit these days expect me to wear a mask while standing in line to order.
To their credit, the staff was masked. When I finally had my turn at the counter, I explained my situation, and was told to pick up my order over on the carryout counter. As I exited, I looked around - no sign or posting about safety procedures. While my meal was fine, I drove away rather frustrated by my unsuccessful attempt to use curbside pickup.
Perhaps "Toast" does not allow business users to distinguish between "curbside pickup" and "carryout." Perhaps there's been too much pushback by customers about safety procedures, and the staff is tired of trying. Perhaps this is a situation in which I should follow the sympathetic template, ". but I understand this is a new operation for them." I'll probably go back someday for breakfast or lunch. But, based on my recent experience, I doubt I'll make a second attempt at Covid-19-safe curbside pickup.

Basic cafe with breakfast, lunch, pastries, a couple different coffee drinks, and a ton of different teas. I have heard that their poppy seed dressing is made in-house and is delicious, but I came for breakfast so I got a breakfast sandwich with bacon. The sandwich was very solid. The sandwich was prepared extremely quickly as well (it took less than 5 min) and the employees were super friendly

Smells wonderful. Busy place at 8:45 a.m. A few large table of kids and adults enjoying the food and beverages. I ordered the Mayan coffee-espresso with foamed milk and Mayan chocolate. Yummy! The bread and cookies looked delicious but I didn't indulge. They have breakfast selections. Open from 6:30 a.m-5:30 p.m. weekdays and then different hours on weekends. Staff is friendly.

Well, I'm sure there's a loyal following. I'm hard pressed to say I'll be back. I was the only one in line and there was little activity in the kitchen. So I didn't expect my order to take too long. It didn't take that long. omelet, potatoes, bacon and a hot tea. Well. the tea was hot. my order didn't take long to come out, but wow was I surprised how cold the food was. I grabbed a cinnamon roll and apple thingy. honestly. didn't taste fresh. Sorry, not on my return list.

I found this place thanks to yelp! I was in the mood for a new place to eat so started searching. This place popped up. I didn't even know this place was here. I have driven right by it hundreds of times! So thanks yelpers! I went in for breakfast and the reviews are spot on! What a great little place! I really love the green tea! Food was perfectly cooked and came out fast, fresh and hot! Everyone is friendly and helpful! Truly a gem and I'm so glad I finally found this place! As the saying goes; better late then never!
