I was looking for a specific and special cake for my twin sisters bridal shower. I searched the internet for New York City bakeries and compared reviews to the photos on Instagram and Facebook. I wanted the cake to be perfect for my sister. I spoke directly to Mona multiple times to assure that the Leopard cake was exactly what I wanted. She was so patient and so nice to speak with.

The cake was not only what I had envisioned and asked for but SO MUCH MORE! Everyone loved the cake and it really made my sisters day even more special. All the guests asked me where I got the cake, not only because of the design but because of how delicious it was! I will definitely return to Mona and highly recommend.

What can I say?! I ABSOLUTELY LOVED THE JOB SHE DID ON MY HUSBANDS FIFTIETH BIRTHDAY MUSTANG CAKE! Not only was it what I requested but she responded every time I called and reassured me it was coming along. It's really hard when you can't travel to the place, but reviews and pics that were posted were very assuring! Loved it! Guests were very happy as well!

CMNY Cakes is amazing and Mona is the best! She created a cake for my daughter's college graduation celebration and did an amazing job. The cake looks exactly as I had hoped, down to the Chanel purse ~ our daughter was in awe! The cake needed to be vegan and that was not a problem. We did a chocolate cake with raspberry buttercream for the bottom tier, and a vanilla cake with a chocolate buttercream for the top tier.

It was so moist and delicious that my son, who is an extremely picky eater and NOT vegan, ate 2 slices! She was even able to deliver it to the restaurant where we were celebrating. Mona is an amazing artist who makes the most delicious creations ~ thank you for making our daughter's evening so very special!

In 2014 I was looking for a cake for my Husband's 40th and Mona went above and beyond. I told her all of his interests, hobbies and colors. The flavor we requested was a blue - red velvet cake. The cake destabilize was moist and delicious all of the decorations including the NY GIANTS football helmet was edible. Everyone raved about the presentation and taste.

Couple of weeks ago after having a nightmare and many mini meltdowns because someone who said they can do the kind of cake I wanted for my 50th Birthday as a gift & then last minute told me they overestimated their talent and couldn't do it. Mon to the rescue.with a week left she not only remembered my husband's cake but had experience doing geode cakes.

She was very helpful in giving her input on what filling would hold up and taste best and again the cake was beautiful. I have out of town family members calling me asking me if I have any left over to send them some they with pay for shipping. Lol. Mona, thanks so very much for your talents.

CMNY Cakes is truely talented. I had her make the deserts for my desert table for my baby shower. They were a hit. Not only were my guess impressed by the way everything looked but also how everything tasted. The process of choosing what I wanted was very easy thanks to Armen. You tell him what you want and he makes it happen. Can't go wrong with them for any event!

IMG_4582.jpeg I've ordered a cake from Mona in the past (it was amazing design and taste) so I decided to return to her for my daughter's unicorn cake. I called mona a week before the party. although very busy, she agreed to decorate my daughter's birthday cake. We worked via email and one or two phone calls and she delivered exactly what I wanted.

The cake cake was amazing! It was the highlight of my party. My guests were wow'ed and most importantly the cake taste great. The raspberry filling is to die for. I am extremely satisfied. Thank you again for a job well done. Your loyal satisfied client~Kathia

I ordered a 3 tier cake for my mother's birthday party, and beautiful is not the word I can describe how the cake looked. Loved their customer service and the fact that they delivered a whole hour early. Definitely will buying a 3 tier cake from them again.

Cakes by Mona is fabulous as always. Mona did an M&Ms cake for my twins 1st birthday 9/30/17. The cake came out better than I expected. Mona is talented and can make any vision come true. Her cakes are both pretty and delicious. Customer service is awesome and she helps you brainstorm to make your cake even better.

Ordered a cake for my twins bday, and it was amazing! I sent a picture of what I wanted it to look like and it came out *exactly* like the picture. I think "pretty" cakes with fondant are usually not as delicious but this place proved me wrong. It was beautiful on the outside AND sooo good on the inside. I got a red velvet cake and it was soft and moist and the icing was perfect. Will definitely order again!

If i could i would give cmny cakes 0 stars. i placed an order more than 3 weeks in advanced for my sisters bridal shower, paid in full on the spot! the day the bridal shower came my cake was never delivered! i called mona to ask why my cake had not been delivered at the scheduled time that i already paid for, she had nothing to say other than her computer system supposedly went down. really? well she surely had gotten $400 for a cake she never delivered, im sure that was in her computer system! the venue the bridal shower was held, had a cake included in their package that i told them i did not need since i had already paid for and placed my order well in advanced with mona, i then had to come $200 out of pocket the day of to find a cake for my guests! thank god the manager of the venue was able to get me a cake on such short notice! it was such an embarrassment! my sisters bridal shower which i had perfectly planned was ruined! the entire theme was ruined and pointless, having a themed cake table with no cake! mona was unsympathetic and made no attempt to do anything after her wrongdoing! instead of attempting to get a cake to my venue or do anything to make a customer happy who had already paid her for a service she did not provide, mona only offered me a refund of my $400 which i already knew i was entitled to being that she took my money and never delieverd my cake! it took her 3 weeks to put it back into my account and when i then asked her to compensate me the $200 which i am also entitled to due to her unprofessionalism and inconvenience she got an attitude and mad with me clamining i was trying to make money off of her! she ruined my sisters bridal shower, a day that will never come again! she is so unprofessional, rude and has no sense of customer service! she is an evil thief and i would never recommend this company to anyone, not even my worst enemy. she is lucky that i am still contemplating on taking her to small claims court for my $200 i was put out because she did not deliver, as i know it would be an open and shut case!

CMNY had made 4 cakes so far for my family's special events and every single time I have been blown away. Her work is flawless, clean, accurate, creative and extremely impressive. Now, after this fourth cake, I am convinced she is the best in NY. Thank you again Mona!

Wanted a special custom wedding cake-we were in the middle of exchanging emails and pricing and she just stopped replying. I emailed her to please respond, got no replies. Would have appreciated a response than to leave a bride hanging.

I just had a b'day party and the CMNY cake was a huge success! Everyone "gasped" when the cake came out - it was so fabulous! The colors and the decorations were perfect, just as I asked for. The cake was delicious and I will definately use CMNY cakes again - can't wait!

I needed a sweet 16 cake and it needed to be Harry Potter! The cake was absolutely stunning and all of the guests and most importantly the birthday were floored. Not only was the cake art but it was the most delicious cake I have ever tasted. Thank you CMNY cakes for perfection! I will recommend to everyone!

I ordered my baby shower cake from CMNY and was floored by the quality. I met with Mona for a consultation and brought my baby shower invitation to show her the theme I wanted. She went above and beyond to stay true to details and color. We had a taste test and I chose vanilla cake with hazelnut ganache. It was amazing. The day of the shower it was delivered without a hitch in a timely fashion. Everyone raved about that cake. It was beautiful and delicious and I would recommend them time and again.

I bought a birthday cake for my girlfriend and loved it. I thought the customer service was good too - the catering hall didn't open until right before the party and the delivery guy had to wait with the cake for an hour. Overall very satisified.

While visiting my sister in New York last month, I needed a cake for her 30th Birthday party. The one thing I knew was that it had to look and taste good. I looked up cakes and found good reviews on yelp and thought I would give CMNY cakes a shot. I spoke to Mona, who was really helpful and knowledgeable and helped me pick out a cake design and gave me recommendations, all over the phone!

Talk about easy peasy! She made it so easy to order over the phone and make recommendations regarding the flavors and fillings that I trusted her blindly (what else could I do-being from Chicago, I had to take that leap of faith!). She asked me for favorites and preferences and we decided on a marble cake with chocolate ganache layers and a chocolate hazelnut buttercream frosting (being the chocoholic my sister and I are!).

On the big day, the cake was delivered on time with no issues. Everyone was raving about the cake and loved it! The flavors were rich and each bite made you crave for more. We got so many of our guests asking us where we got the cake from, it was ridiculously amazing! I would definitely recommend them to anyone, since the service from the beginning to the end was excellent and the cake delicious!

I absolutely LOVED the cake Mona made for me! I ordered a Hennessy bottle cake with different accessories around it for my boyfriend. It looked amaaaazing, and was actually much bigger than I was expecting, like almost twice as tall as the real thing. I ordered an iphone next to the bottle as well, and also my bf's Lexus keys. I was pretty impressed with the detail that went into it.

And yes, it tasted great too! It was a little hard to get an appointment though as Mona's only in the City once or twice a week, but I just ordered over the phone. Will definitely be ordering again.

We went to CMNY for our baby 1st Bday cake, after reading the reviews we were absolutely thrilled, but the end result was far from satisfactory, actually it was horrible. The presentation of was cake was wonderful, but the cake itself was very dry the layer of cakes were falling apart, the icing on cake was hard as a glass and was brittle. No one in the party appreciated the cake, and we had to throw away the 3/4 of it. If you want to order your cake for very special occasion, I would recommend you to stay away from this place

This place was awesome. Mona & Ro were great with helping me pick a design for the cake. The cake looked beautiful and tasted great (yellow cake w/cream cheese filling). They are expensive but it was worth it.

I plan events for a living (for over 10 years) so I'm no spring chicken in this department. I am so very disappointed in CMNY Cakes. I'm in the process of planning a surprise birthday party. Two days ago I had a tasting with CMNY Cakes. The owner gave the tasting. She doesn't give any inspiration or direction. You have to come with your own ideas.

Nor is she very enthusiastic. I felt like I was at a doctor's appointment and not tasting cake. Come on.this should be fun and exciting! Regardless of her lame disposition, their portfolio is impressive so I told them that I would be placing my order tomorrow morning as soon as I finalized some details. I literally just had to decide between vanilla or passionfruit icing and I couldn't decide on the spot.

I specifically asked if they have availability for my date and they said "yes, your date is open." The next morning (less than 24 hours), I placed my order and all of a sudden, they were too booked to handle my order. They didn't even reach out to me to deliver the news. They only revealed this to me after I placed my order. I feel extremely misled and as though they wasted my time. Yes, CMNY Cakes may make pretty cakes but they need to be more forthright in their business.

We recently requested a quote from them. We were quoted the same price from another more notable Bakery and asked them if they could do a bit better on the price. After multiple emails we have yet to hear back from them. After such unprofessional behavior I will never recommend this place to anyone.

Honestly the cake design was great. Everyone at the party were in awe. But the cake tasted disgusting and found two strands of red hair inside the cake. FYI party was all Asian with black hairs only. The facility where they bake didn't look too hygienic either. For the price I paid. I would expect to enjoy eating it as much as looking at it. Overall. Too expensive for UNSANITARY good looking cake.

I ordered a Harry Potter cake that completely exceeded my expectations. I asked for something I saw on the internet and it was better. Everyone was wowed! The added bonus was that it tasted so great. (vanilla) One of the best tasting cakes I have ever had for a party. A little expensive, but comparable to other places really. I cannot comment on the bakery, cleanliness etc. They delivered to NYC in a snowstorm on time. I will definitely go back.

Okay, don't expect to be thrifty here, but be prepared to be indulged in the best possible cake you've ever had. Yes their cakes can be pretty pricey (think a few hundred dollars), but you get what you pay for. I cannot comment as to the bad service that other fellow Yelpers have had as I was not the one who purchased the cake, but I was amazed at the sheer detail of the cake.

We got a 3-tier Kai-lan cake that was just immacuately designed, colorful and bright, from the small figures of Kai and her friends, to the meticulous placement of all the flowers placed on the cake. It's one of those cakes where you could really appreciate the artistic abilities and you may even question yourself if this is a cake to eat or for show.

But not only was it detailed but the marble cake tasted amazingly good, light but not too airy complimented with just the right amount of buttercream filling. Delightful, and I honestly have not had a better slice of cake for quite some time.

RUDE & UNPROFESSIONAL! I should've looked up the first review before calling. The woman is soooooo rude its unbelievable. I'm so glad I didn't do business with them! They don't even deserve the default 1 star!
