I don't usually review dress places because the odds of finding me in one are slim to none but when my brothers wife asked me to come along for her dress fitting and I attended with a smile. They made my brothers wife look absolutely stunning in her gorgeous dress. The staff was super friendly and accommodating and attentive to all her needs. They made sure she was happy with her dress, scheduling multiple fittings and making sure she looked her absolute best on her special day.

I would definitely recommend coming here if you need a dress for prom, a funeral, a wedding, or any formal occasion. They have something for everyone and they will make you look superb in it!

I've been actively shopping for a mother of the bride dress for 8 weeks. Department stores, specialty stores, and on line. My daughter (the bride) and I were intending on visiting another store in Fall River however they were closed when we got there. When I searched for any other mother of the bride dress stores close by, Carmen's popped up. It was 2 minutes away.

The store had beautiful displays, and the staff were amazing. We were helped by Suzanne and she was so genuinely caring about how each dress looked. She encouraged me to bring lots of dresses to try on into the dressing room. We never felt rushed and the overall feeling was very relaxing. We were able to look through the racks vs having someone pull dresses they thought we might like. The dress has been ordered, and it's everything that I wanted it to be. I walked out of there knowing that this is the dress for me! I would highly recommend a trip here.

Very unprofessional establishment. Upon arriving to Massachusetts, my bridesmaid dress did not fit as I am pregnant and gained wait. Called Carmen Fashions about a few days before and asked if they could fix it. they said yes and ensured the dress would fit before the wedding. Because my family knows sewing, we had asked for the dress to be fixed only in the back and opened up. Making it and open dress and hide the zipper.

They said "we can fix it no worries". Paid $60 for the dress to be even tighter. Resulting in me having an anxiety attack for 45 minutes the night before the wedding. and having my mother and I drive to Walmart to try and find ways to fix it at 10pm and try ever which way till 1am the day of the wedding. I have receipts. Not ONLY did my dress not fit. but 15 minutes before the wedding began my mother (bride) and I were forced to start sewing up all 3 bridesmaid dresses because the belts were falling off, pieces of belt jewels were missing, and sleeves were coming off. Brides and bridal party shouldn't be sewing their dresses 15 minutes before walking down an isle. we were very fortunate to know how to sew and have daughters of friends find me a used prom dress from their daughters the morning of the wedding.

It's uncommon to have that many people to help you out minutes before the wedding. They did not want to refund the $60 that it took to ruin my $200 dress even more. They kept giving excuses saying "we were rushed". Well let's say this. IF YOU FELT RUSHED THEN TELL US BEFORE YOU RUIN DRESSES. how about that? Because it would have given us more than enough time to find me a dress rather than us rely on YOU to fix a simple zipper issue. No longer will I be walking into Carmen fashions. We kept a good composure to you but for you not to even have sympathy is horrible.

This was our last stop after visiting two "boutique" style bridal shops. Don't let this little place fool you! It may not be as shiny and glittery as some of the other local stores but it is a hidden gem for sure! After a very defeating appointment at a boutique, we came here thinking what's this little place going to offer that the others didn't. Well, we were quickly shown this was going to be a very different experience!

The staff listened to what my daughter wanted and after 4 dresses, she said yes to the first one she tried on, which was available at other shops and we had asked to see. They may not have the same stock of dresses, but they listen to the brides wishes.

Bride's, mom's, attendants and prom dress shoppers should make this their first and last stop! The talent and service is exceptional!

I had gone this past Saturday to try on wedding dresses with my stepmom, and a small group of friends. I don't remember the woman's name offhand who helped us (will update when I speak with her again), but it was the exact experience I had hoped for. We went to David's Bridal beforehand and while the staff were friendly, you could tell they were overwhelmed with how many people were shopping.

My guests couldn't sit down and I had to try on dresses quickly. Carmens was the complete opposite. It was calm, with very few others in the store. She arranged chairs for my guests to sit, and helped me try on each dress (four in total). The dress I ended up going with was the first one she picked out, but all of them were beautiful and felt so comfortable.

What made the whole experience even better was that I had asked about incorporating black into the dress, and she immediately had an idea. She grabbed black fabric and pinned it under the top layer to show how it would look showing through the ivory. We discussed how customizable the dresses are and she completely understood. My guests had a great time, we celebrated with champagne, this experience made this process so memorable. I will be going back with my maid of honor to look for her dress and will recommend to others as well.

I loved working with the ladies at Carmen's Fashions! They were wonderful and patient in helping me select my wedding dress. I must have tried on 15 dresses, and I ended up sleeping on it and coming back the next day, but they were so lovely. And then they were great doing all the alterations and prep work so that my dress was perfect and beautiful on my wedding day, not to mention holding the dress for a whole year due to COVID.

It was sad to say goodbye that last time, knowing I wouldn't see them again (at least for a while). But I was so glad to have found this dress store and am thrilled with how everything turned out. Highly recommend!

Third bridal shop I went to, I wasn't feeling the other dresses, they were beautiful, but not the one I dreamed of. I'll my sisters said you just know when you put it on Coming from a Portuguese family who all have their own opinions, but want me to be happy. Mary Jo was amazing ! She didn't pressure me into making a decision. She was very supportive and gave my 6 year old neice a job so she would fill included. Thank you for helping me find my dream dress!

I don't even know where to begin with Carmens. I found my wedding dress here on the first appointment I made. They were so helpful and made me feel comfortable. My dress fit like a glove! It was strapless so I was nervous but the assured me it would not move all night and it didn't. The bridesmaid dresses were beautiful and they made the girls feel so comfortable.

One of my bridesmaids had a baby and they had to put a whole extra piece of her dress and you could not even tell! They even helped my mom out who was not happy with her experience at another place and they made sure her dress fit perfectly as well.

Maryjo was very professional and made us very comfortable, they didn't rush us she was very accommodating.i truly belive you get better service at the smaller bridal boutiques, i believe its a family business we met the other 2 ladies as well both very nice as well

I had an amazing experience at Carmen Bridal! I am so thankful that I decided to check this shop out. You will not find staff that truly cares about their brides like these women do! I always felt comfortable with them and I felt like they always listened to my requests. I ended up finding my dream dress & veil and they was perfect for our summer wedding in Italy! I will always look back at my experience at Carmen's Bridal and smile

When I first walked into Carmens I was a little hesitant but my experience with them was great. I will say I did not like working with Mary Jo, but Madalena and her sister were amazing to work with! Madalena always made me feel comfortable and always listened to my concerns and her sister had me laughing at my final fitting the whole time! The seamstress there is seriously phenomenal, she made my dress absolutely perfect! If you are looking for a beautiful dress I would say look no further! Thank you Madalena! I can't thank you enough for all you did!

Carmen's Fashions was amazing! From the moment I walked in, they helped me feel at ease and I never felt pressured to buy the first dress I tried on, unlike a few other places I had been to before. I was looking for a specific dress and although they didn't have exactly what I was looking for, they were able to find something from the same designer in a similar style that I fell in love with.

I found my perfect dress there. My bridesmaids dresses and 2 Maid of honor dresses were spectacular. They accommodated my out of town bridesmaids which made the process much easier not only me, but for my bridesmaids as well. Also, they were super accommodating with my mom after we had a huge issue with another store that didn't order my moms dress and only told me 2 weeks before my wedding.

They found a dress that my mom fell in love with and they did everything to make sure that the dress was perfect. Honestly, save yourself time and energy and consider getting everyone's dresses here. You won't be disappointed.

Had such an amazing experience at Carmen's Bridal! From the moment I walked in I felt like I was the center of attention! I showed Madalena some dresses I liked and the first dress I tried on was the one! She listened to what I wanted and got me exactly that! Had such an amazing experience and I can't wait to go back in a few weeks with my bridesmaids! Highly recommend getting all of your formal needs here! I live in Providence and my mom was visiting from the Midwest to help me find THE dress for my wedding this fall. After visiting six high-end bridal boutiques all over New England without any success, we decided on a whim to run into a no-appointment-needed shop close to home. Carmen's was able to squeeze me in as a walk-in and I'm so thankful they did! Mary Jo was so warm, welcoming and figured out exactly what I wanted - she pulled a dress off the rack (that I never would have thought to choose), I put it on and it was, without a doubt, the one!

I cried, my mom cried, Mary Jo cried and even random strangers reacted with OOO's and AHHH's when I came out of the dressing room. It was so meant to be! Recommend this bridal salon over some of the top ones in the area - no pretentious staff members and a beautiful selection. I can't wait to wear that dress in September!

Wonderful, kind, friendly staff who offer the best service. The gowns are gorgeous! Great selection. Definitely go here for bridal or proms!

I could cry tears of joy writing this! As a military member on the edge of my deployment departure date the clock was ticking. I searched in Virginia (where I'm stationed) and then I came up home to MA for leave. This past week I went to many shops in the area. I tried on at least 50 dresses. So many styles and nothing worked. I was about to throw in the towel until I found a gown online by Allure.

I called 14 different stores and no one had it. I called Carmen's and talked to Madalena. She informed me they had a dress like it and that I could try it on to get a feel. I saw the great reviews and I said okay! I went in and she had me try on a few different gowns. Their customer service was amazing I felt so welcome and comfortable. I wanted to order the allure gown I tried on, but I just kept thinking back to the original one I wanted and called about.

I ended up putting the money down and she said she'd give me a day to decide. I called her the next morning and stayed with the original dress even though I couldn't see it in person. A belt comes with the dress but an allure home office rep misinformed Madalena that it was separate and an additional 200$! I expressed my concern saying I'm pretty sure it comes with it (based off of other vendors and brides testimonials) and told her to hold off ordering the gown until we resolved this.

First thing Monday morning I get a call from Madalena and then another from the Allure regional manager apologizing and telling me I was correct. Turns out the home office rep was wrong! Madalena made it her priority to call everyone she could to get me the correct answer. She apologized up and down. These people will not mislead you or rip you off.

I never for a second thought they were trying to overcharge me. Madalena and her team are very professional and went above and beyond to make this situation right. I am so impressed and excited to see my dress and their staff when I come back! Thank you guys!

After shopping at many other bridal salons, I went back to Carmen Fashions and found THE DRESS! I loved the women working there and they really bent over backwards to make me happy. The dress I loved was only available in ivory for the sample but they ordered me a really great swatch in white (satin with the lace overlay) so I could really see how it would look.

The dress came in just when they said it would and looked amazing. The alterations were included in the cost of the dress, which was a huge selling point for me and the seamstress Adelia is a hero and my dress fits perfectly now!

Thank God for Carmen's Bridal! MaryJo at Carmen's saved my wedding dress and what turned out being one of my happiest memories I arrived at Carmen's looking for a veil as I already had my wedding gown. Mary Jo not only helped me find a veil but a tiara and a petticoat coat. The petticoat coat took my wedding gown from a 5 to a 10! She was so friendly and knowledgeable. over the moon helpful.

I asked if she would alter my gown because I did not want to go back to the salon where I purchased it. She said she would hem & take my dress inthe other salon ordered the wrong size, bustle and steam my dress for $200. She also helped me find my flower girl dresses! I was crying tears of joy in this salon, the first time I cried with my wedding gown on. If you are in Fall River and bridal assistance go HERE first. you will not regret it! I would recommend this boutique to all brides looking for an easy & fabulous dress buying experience. I was married in November 2012 and bought my gown along with my bridesmaid dresses here and was so happy with the experience. The staff are amazing- especially the seamstress who did the most amazing job altering my dress. My gown was lace and I was worried how the detail on the bottom would look after removing quite a bit of length.

You never would have known it had been touched- it was absolutely beautiful. I chose the 3rd dress I tried on, so I can't compare it to other salons/experiences, but I know atleast price wise that they are in line or even cheaper than some others and they have a large selection. I highly recommend Mary Joe and her amazing staff at Carmen's!

This past week I visited Carmen's Bridal, and although I did not end up purchasing my dress there - the customer service and selection were fantastic. They spent hours with my Mother and myself patiently trying on dresses. Their insider knowledge of the industry was so appreciated. On top of EVERYTHING - Carmen's offers FREE alterations. FREE.

The price of alterations is not reflected in the price of the gown. It was a fun experience. A dress I found at Carmen's was a CLOSE second, and I would have ordered my dress from another store at Carmen's just for the service had it not been from a trunk show. Thank you Carmen's!

I just went through the process of purchasing and altering a bridesmaid's dress for my sister's wedding at Carmen's. It was a great experience, and I will definitely return to Carmen's the next time I need a dress for an event. They have a large selection of gowns to choose from and have very helpful employees to walk you through the process.

All alterations are included in the price of the dress, and they truly tailor the dress to fit you exactly. The seamstress is a funny little Portuguese lady who doesn't take any "bridezilla" attitude, and can make anyone look like a princess. The other bridesmaid also got her dress here, as well as the mother of the groom. They had equally as great experiences and also agreed that they will be back next time they are in need of a dress.

I'm giving them three stars because Monica and Mary-Jo were wonderful. Monica helped me find my dress (which was perfect) and Mary-Jo was very accomodating. Now for the horror show that was alterations. The seamstress was the rudest, most unpleasant woman. While alterations are included in the price, she made me want to spend the extra money to go elsewhere. First, there was the issue of the length of the dresses.

I had one girl that was 5'10 and another that was 5' and they wanted to cut them so it would be the same length for everyone, which was going to leave my shorter girls with (short dresses) dresses down to their shins, instead of their knees. Then, they refused to take the straps off another girl's dress, despite the fact that I had explained that I wanted all their dresses to be different. Also, they took it upon themselves to take the applique off another dress without consenting my bridesmaid or me.

They denied that my MOH paid for her dress as they could not find her receipt and finally found proof that she paid for it as they documented it on the back of a business card! As for my dress, I asked for the train to be cut (which was explained to me, couldn't be done due to ruining pleats, but could be shortened), fine with me except a bustle wasn't created and my dress completely came undone day of my wedding.

To make matters worse, when I took it back the seamstress accused me of ripping it for compensation and bad-mouthed me to the sales lady in Portuguese. Luckily, my friend who speaks fluent Portuguese was with me to relay all the info, much to her surprise. Of course she denied saying anything when I spoke up and they kept insuinating that I either stepped on it or someone else did. Given the frustration and hassle they put us all through, I would not recommend their services to anyone or at least the alterations process.

I just bought an evening gown at Carmen's for an event that I need to attend. I had already been to a few other stores in Fall River and was frustrated with the lack of variety. Carmen's has a huge variety of sizes, styles, and colors. There is something for everyone there. And the store is huge and spacious so it's not overcrowded with people and dresses. The girl that helped me find dresses was so sweet and helpful she basically pulled everything in my size for me to try on. I will be recommending them to everyone.
