MYDEEJAY - My daughter hired Van Petty for her May 7, 2022, wedding. The management was very professional and courteous to work with. I was disappointed when I found out that the wedding coordinator found my daughter upset in her bridal sweet because the DJ was not playing all the music from her playlist she created. The DJ was asked several times to stick to the playlist by the bride, the wedding coordinator and the lighting crew. Her goal was to keep the guests engaged on the dance floor.

We are soooo grateful that Welvin Wong was able to handle a wedding on short notice when my daughter's DJ got covid at the last minute. Based on the wild and happy dancing, he did an outstanding job! He truly embodied grace under pressure to take this on so quickly and deliver a great experience for the happy couple! The two other things we noticed were his smooth transitions and subtle style. Some DJ's become their own center of attention, but Welvin kept the focus on the bride/groom and the party rather than himself.

I booked Evan to DJ my wedding a couple weeks ago. He was fantastic! There's such a nuance to knowing when to play which songs, and how to keep the guests on the dance floor. I was so impressed with how he was able to read the room the whole night and how he grouped and organized my song requests. One of my favorite moments was getting down to Alan Jackson, and Evan replayed one of the song's verses, so I got an extra 45 seconds of dancing to Chattahoochee.

Such a small thing but it elevated the experience! Beyond that, the planning form that MyDeejay uses was super helpful. The UI might be a lil outdated, but the form is fully functional and covers all the details that you might forget to even think about. It was so easy too, because I was able to fill out the song requests and event details at my leisure over 2+ years of planning (thanks COVID!).

By the time the wedding rolled around, we just had to schedule a quick phone call with Evan to go over the details. He had everything clearly in writing and it was super easy to ensure we were all on the same page. I can't recommend enough! Two weeks out and I'm still getting compliments on the reception playlist!

We loved our experience with MyDeejay! They were super responsive, professional and very patient since I didn't really know what I was doing. Our DJ was Evan R and he was absolutely amazing. His voice is just made for this type of business! We truly enjoyed having him get the party started. We spoke with him multiple times over the phone. He reassured us he had everything handled, asked us specifics for what songs we'd like to hear. We didn't worry at all. He was awesome, thank you Evan and thank you MyDeeJay team!

If you're having a wedding in the DMV or need a DJ for any reason, use MyDeejay. They were incredibly responsive from the get-go and provided an incredible experience. DJ Evan made our wedding and it was so easy to work with the entire staff. Five stars!

MyDeejay was recommended to us by our wedding planner, Sara Reynolds, and my wife and I couldn't be happier with them. DJ Welvin Wong was fantastic through the entire experience. Due to COVID, our wedding was postponed twice over two years. Welvin stayed in contact with us the whole time. His effort and attention to detail were readily apparent.

He coordinated multiple phone calls, first a few months out to take some time to get to know us, and another two weeks out so he could ensure he had every little item right. My wife and I were likely a pain in the butt too with how picky and specific we were with some of the music and transitions. He crushed the reception. All our guests were dancing from the moment the dance floor opened to the very last song. This company is great. Highly recommended.

DJ Brian Jones of MyDeejay was definitely the MVP of our October 2021 wedding! He was great to work with from the start, willing to be as involved or as "out of the way" as we wanted him to be during the planning process and our wedding night. Brian and the entire MyDeejay staff were very thorough and responsive. The ceremony, cocktail hour, and dinner went smoothly but the dancefloor was incredible! Brian read the crowd so well and kept the dancefloor packed all night long, we had multiple guests say to us throughout the night and for days and weeks after our wedding how awesome our DJ was, we agree!

We had some unusual requests including Brazilian music and a western PA bridal dance and he rolled with the punches perfectly and made sure everything went off without a hitch. Hiring DJ Brian Jones will be the best decision you make for you wedding!

Incredible experience working with MyDeejay. We worked with Evan for our wedding and he was incredibly responsive. From our first call it was clear that Evan got our music taste and would deliver a perfect event. He surpassed expectations! MyDeejay is an awesome group of individuals and all of the communication was super professional and responsive.

After postponing our wedding in Utah twice we moved it to Maryland and were on a time crunch. I interviewed two other companies, but after chatting with them I knew right away they were the perfect fit. First of all, they send you a questionnaire to match you with your DJ which I think is so crucial. All of the communication was professional, timely and full of great information.

We were matched with Brian Jones who has the same music taste as we do and our first little chat ended up being an hour long! After you are matched they give you questionnaires and a system where you can input music. It's a very thorough process but helped with my timeline with all vendors and really helped us get organized. I went overboard and sent Brian 9 hours of music, and knowing our taste and the vibe that we wanted he was able to create the perfect soundtrack to our evening.

My friends and I did not leave the dance floor and we had the older folks dancing as long as they could as well. I felt like he was a friend we hired to play our event and not a vendor. It seriously could not have gone better and I am SO thankful I found MyDeeJay! Thank you to Brian and the whole staff for making our evening truly unforgettable and a cherished memory to look back on.

MyDeejay is a wonderful DJ company! The reps are so easy to communicate with, are timely in responding, and are flexible. From the moment we spoke with Evan from MyDeejay, we knew he would be perfect for our wedding. He was extremely accommodating and flexible throughout the planning process. This was much appreciated given the craziness of rescheduling due to covid.

As for the actual wedding, Evan absolutely killed it! Our wedding was almost three weeks ago and people are still reaching out and raving about the music. Evan crafted a playlist that perfectly matched the mood and atmosphere we wanted. We provided a small subset of songs we wanted to hear. Based on these songs, Evan was able to craft an evening filled with music that perfectly matched our vibe and music taste.

He played classical music during cocktail hour, romantic music during dinner, and started the party with fantastic throwbacks and ended with more upbeat pop, R&B, and EDM hits. He was even able to incorporate Italian and Greek music that our guests requested on the spot! He also knew when to pull back and when to turn up. We felt so comfortable deferring to his expertise! We can honestly say that our dream wedding would not have been possible without Evan and MyDeejay!

Brian was the perfect fit for our special day. His expertise in sound management allowed our wedding to go off without a hitch. He was a wonderful presence throughout the night, and played only the best music based on our suggestions. Planning the ceremony and reception music with MyDeeJay was so easy, and Brian allowed every moment to flow from one song to the next. Brian was so easy going and fun throughout the whole process. My husband and I were able to enjoy the entire evening without ever having to worry about people not having a good time.

DJ Frank was what you would describe as the perfect DJ. When you think about what's most important during a wedding, your first thought is to having everyone have a good time. Music makes a wedding and the flow and DJ are most valuable in that. DJ Frank was able to create a playlist from our important songs and kept people dancing LITERALLY the entire night. Everyone has complimented how great he was and what an incredible party he created!

Brian is the best! He was so helpful and communicative in the weeks leading up to the wedding. We chose a few songs that we wanted played and then he curated such a fun playlist for the rest of the night. Everyone was up dancing. He also coordinated mics and music for our ceremony. When we had to postpone and then downsize due to COVID, the whole company was so flexible and understanding. Thank you for everything!

MyDeejay is great! DJ Van was the dj for my wedding and he was phenomenal! He captured what I had envisioned perfectly! He was available to talk with me prior as many times as I wanted to feel comfortable and was always quick to respond via email. I'd definitely recommend him and this company!

MyDeejay is a great company to use for your wedding DJ. The planning process is super organized and the company is easy to communicate with. We personally had Anthony as our DJ and he is incredible! Anthony was super responsive and answered all of our questions along the way. He did both our ceremony and reception, both went perfectly! He did a great job making announcements and helping us move along the timeline smoothly.

We had to reschedule our wedding due to COVID, Anthony and MyDeejay were flexible and helpful getting us set up with a new date. We were able to have an outdoor dance floor at our venue and Anthony did an awesome job taking all of our must play songs and reading the crowd to find the right music, even in the heat! Everyone all weekend told us how much fun they had and we know the music played a big part in that. We highly recommend Anthony from MyDeejay for your wedding! He is the best!

Chuck was the best DJ we could have asked for for our wedding. He was so easy to talk to during plan, understood exactly the vibe we were going for, was prompt and professional day-of and most importantly kept the party going! Our guests loved him so much and he really helped us have a fantastic wedding. Would recommend to anyone!

I would highly recommend Mydeejay. They were very responsive and professional in getting things set up for the event and answered any questions I had. They also have an online planning system that I found to be super helpful. Brian was our DJ and he was absolutely phenomenal! Aside from being one of the nicest people ever, he made sure he played songs we really liked.

He did a great job of reading the room and keeping the vibe upbeat and fun, which is exactly what we wanted. Our guests were raving all night about how wonderful he was and repeatedly said he was the best DJ they ever saw at a wedding. I would highly recommend!

We were beyond happy with our experience. We used MyDeejay for our wedding, and they paired us with Van Petty. He was AH-MAZ-ING! He is professional, personable, and really knows his music (as a musician himself). We had so many last minute changes, but Van made all the changes (without complaint) and everything went perfectly. The service they provide goes far beyond someone who plays music at your wedding; the entire flow of the wedding/sequence of events is taken care of by the DJ.

He notified our photographer before anything was announced, so she could be there to shoot all the significant events throughout the night. He also reached out to each person before anything was announced to ensure they were ready. We were in such good hands, and we feel so blessed to have had Van/MyDeejay to make our special day go so smoothly. Highly recommend Van Petty and MyDeejay!

DJ Evan was the perfect choice! He is so cool and easygoing you will want to hang out for drinks or something with him lol. He is extremely attentive to customers wants and needs chiming in with perfect ideas and suggestions. All of our guests absolutely raved about the music, even the music he played during dinner. His love of music shines through and gets you excited about your event because he is. We wanted our reception to feel like an old school dance party from the 90s and he delivered! We would definitely use MyDeeJay and Evan again.

We had an awesome experience working with MyDeejay for our wedding in August 2019. We had Evan Reitmeyer as our DJ and loved him. Both he and the other representatives from MyDeejay were consistently easy to communicate with. We gave DJ Evan some guidance on what we wanted ( a really fun nonstop, high energy dance party) and he came through with exactly what we wanted.

We have had so many people tell us how much fun the dancing was. He was organized throughout the process and was able to easily make last-minute changes the day of when needed. We could tell he had a handle on everything throughout the event and was cool, calm and collected the whole time while keeping the party going. We worked with Brian Jones, of MyDeeJay, and he was absolutely fantastic. He, without a doubt, made the party what it was. From the very beginning, Brian was amazing to work with. He was extremely professional during our introductory phone call - explaining his style, how he liked to work with couples, and his back-up plan in the event of unforseen illness or unavailability. (That was particularly important to us when we were hiring a specific person - and Brian's plan was comprehensive and perfect - not that it was necessary!) In particular, we loved Brian's philosophy of keeping the party moving without becoming the center of attention. Brian was fantastic to work with in the days leading up to the wedding.

We filled out MyDeeJay's online form (which asked for songs we wanted to hear, and those we didn't want to hear) but Brian also set up a call where we were able to talk through everything, and make sure we were all on the same page. He was also very responsive in terms of making sure that there were adequate equipment for the ceremony, enough microphones for the readers and co-officiants, and that he was all set for the music cues.

We also had a friend of ours who was singing a few songs, and he was great to work with to make sure that our friend had the equipment and tracks she needed. The day of itself was amazing! Brian was great at setting everything up, and then for the dancing itself, everything was just perfect. He was so good at reading the room, and making sure that everyone was up and dancing.

He was one of the best DJs we had ever seen - and many of our guests said the same. He really made the party what it was. Brian was professional, competent, and so good at making the party rock. We couldn't have asked for anything more, and are so glad we hired him!

We cannot rave enough about Anthony from MyDeejay. My husband and I hired him for our Nov 10th wedding at the Daughters of the American Revolution in DC. We were so last minute with all of our requests and Anthony was kind, accommodating, professional, and patient with us. We gave him a list of our vision and he took it and made it his own in the best way possible.

We would highly recommend MyDeejay and most specifically Anthony! Our guests are still raving about how good his energy was and how good his music choices were-from the 70s to the 80s to the 90s as well as current music, Anthony read the crowd and knew when to shake things up based on the mood and vibe of my very diverse set of guests. Our wedding would not have been the same without Anthony so thank you for making our wedding reception absolutely perfect. The customer service from both Anthony and the MyDeejay team was top notch, we will be highly recommending them for social events to our friends and colleagues.

DJ Jon Ryu was fantastic. We were looking for a "non-cheesy" DJ who would be remembered for the awesome music and not the jokes and banter. That's exactly what we got. Working with Jon up to the wedding was smooth and seamless and multiple people came up to me over the course of the night and remarked how great the DJ was. I also loved how little direction we had to give him--you can tell he's done this many times before and knows what type of music to play when. Thanks Jon for a fantastic night, I'm so happy people danced it away!

Brian is a Rockstar! His song selection, professionalism, technical abilities and preparedness are everything you could ask for in a DJ and more. He played what we wanted, didn't play what we didn't want, and rocked the dance floor all night long. But what I didn't understand until I went through this process is how important it is to have someone on your team that you can rely on 100%.

There is A LOT going on that day and it's damn stressful. Until you've been through this, it might be easy to underestimate the value of removing even a bit of this stress. Not only did we not have to worry about Brian at any point, but every time we needed him to help facilitate anything, he was right there making it happen. We really can't say enough positive things about our experience with Brian!

I had actually met DJ Van Petty at a wedding expo which is how I heard of MyDeejay so I was thrilled when we were paired with him for our wedding. After getting to talk further with Van Petty via Skype, I felt even more confident that he understood how important I felt about having a good dance party vibe at the reception. As a bride, we get bogged down with the details, but as a frequent wedding quest, the thing I always remember most is how much I danced and if the music was good so I wanted to ensure the our guests would WANT to dance and not just feel obliged.

The system he used to select songs was easy and communicating with him in the days prior was a breeze. He made sure he knew ever detail to make our reception as smooth as it could be. He even pronounced my new last name correctly! We received SO many compliments about him and even my parents, who were pushing for a band, admitted he was the right choice. I would highly recommend DJ Van Petty and MyDeejay to anyone in the Maryland/DC/Virginia area!

Everyone we worked with at MyDeeJay was fabulous. We started with one individual and were later switched to another DJ. Both Mike and Evan were friendly and really easy to work with. Evan ended up doing our wedding, and he was just a dream. He was extremely calm and helpful leading up to the day-of, accommodating various requests for a short live music performance we planned. Day-of, he was extremely professional and kind, helping to keep my brand-new husband and I on track with toasts, making last minute changes to fit our photographers' schedules, and playing music that kept all our guests dancing until closing time.

Several of my friends are professional photographers and as such they have strong opinions about the use of "party lights by DJs". One of the discussions was particularly about how these party lights ruin otherwise perfect wedding party pictures because of green dots on dresses, or other designs that detract. So when I went looking for a DJ I specifically was looking for one that I could have them skip the lights.

We found MyDeeJay through a friend and had an excellent experience in booking. The pricing is clear on their website and their online system to pick music is easy to manage. We met once with Anthony (our DJ) to go over and sign the contract and we chatted with him over the phone about two weeks before the wedding to make sure everything was what we wanted and that he had everyone's name right.

Some of the music we wanted was a little more obscure and he found about 6 versions of one song we really wanted. Based solely on my comments about the song he picked the right one, but sent it to me via email a few days before the big event to ensure it was the right version. He was incredibly professional. Shortly before procession into the reception, my best friend's little girl made friends with my niece (our flower girl) and they didn't want to separate.

So I asked her to join the party and Anthony was able to announce her entrance with my flowergirl all at the last moment. He read the room right all night - there was ALWAYS a full dance floor and everyone had a great time.
