**Summary** Dancing Deer is a beautiful and enchanting venue, but some strict policies and limitations are not ideal for a large reception. I would only look at this venue if your guest count is small or you're planning to have the reception elsewhere. You 100% need a wedding coordinator for this venue. I don't think our guests noticed anything wrong on our wedding day, except for issues with the music volume. **Venue** There's no denying it - the owners are excellent landscapers.

The venue is gorgeous and there is a magical quality about it. We were definitely smitten when we toured the location. The cost of the venue was also quite reasonable. **Music** Before you read this, you should have some context. We were told by the groundskeeper that a neighbor calls the cops and sends noise complaints when their events get too loud. Supposedly, this neighbor lost the bid to buy the venue property and has some kind of vendetta?

The owners say that the noise restrictions are due to Lane County ordinance. Maybe it's a combination of both. Regardless, the situation is not exactly ideal for a wedding reception. The contract states upfront that the noise cannot exceed 60 decibels at the property line. You have no idea where the property line is because it's not within sight - so this stipulation could mean almost anything.

The contract doesn't mention that the owners have a decibel monitor installed in their venue that monitors both music and crowd volume. I strongly encourage you to test the speakers during your venue tour so you can experience it for yourself (you are required to use their speakers). Needless to say, the music was noticeably quiet and lacking bass - and a number of guests commented on it.

The DJ tried his best to work with the system, but he said in 20 years of being in the business he's never experienced such a situation. There are no speakers by the altar for the processional. The music failed to carry effectively from the reception area all the way to the altar. Lastly, vocal microphones are not allowed, so you have to shout if you want the folks in the back to hear speeches and vows, etc. **Food** The contract states that you cannot cook food on premises.

This is important to note because, in our research, there are very few caterers that will accommodate this restriction. Mac's from the Eugene Veterans Club did an excellent job keeping food hot and fresh in transit to the venue.

Critical: Professionalism Pretty location but rude communication from owner, not even to the people responsible for renting it, but to guests. No trash service on site, you have to haul everything out same night of ceremony and the owners weren't kind at all while wrapping things up. So many other pretty places that also treat their guest kind.

It is a beautiful setting for a wedding. the bathroom locks need work as jammed and I had to use skills to open it and get out. It got cold up on the hill so they brought out heaters. There are a lot of steep trails so hard for everyone to access venue. (Could go long way around).

I am beyond words with this venue. The owners made it incredibly easy on my wedding. I was stress free for most of it. Even when photography was an issue carol said she would take pictures as well just in case. I am beyond grateful for carol, Tim and Steve for making my wedding close to perfect. And the venue wasn't bad on pricing as well. The owners did their best to accommodate us and our guests.

Even if there were tiny flaws it never took away from the experience and hospitality. Especially during the pandemic. Hard times fell on everyone Especially for caring owners like carol and tim. They not only had to use money for up to standards during covid, but they also tried so hard to make sure i had everything I needed for my special day. Would definitely recommend.

My daughter recently had her wedding here. During the reception, One of the owners was.telling us we all had to wear masks. This was outside for hell sakes! Everyone at the reception heard what was going on. It was quite disruptive. She wasn't quiet about it all. Very disappointing. The bride, my daughter, was crying!

The place itself is absolutely gorgeous but the woman who owns it is insane. She went from being really nice to getting in our faces and telling us to wear masks even though we were outside and taking wedding photos. Needless to say, the bride was crying, guests were leaving because the lady was taking their photos and threatening to call the police, it was pretty aggressive. Would be 5 stars if it was ran by someone that didn't get off on being an old pushy Brad. There's always a polite way to approach people, having tact goes a long way.

Beautiful, well kept venue. Great service with venue owner. He's on top of his property without being overbearing. Every detail of photography settings beautifully tailored. Made a wonderful day of our couple. Highly recommend this property.

Absolutely gorgeous. Even with covid limitations, the owners are so accommodating and they take SUPERB care of their area. The trees provide such good shade and cover that even with full sun it is comfortable

I can't rave about Dancing Deer Mountain enough. Our daughter's wedding was spectacular and Tim and Carol were so amazing to work with. They thought of everything. Even though it was raining the day of wedding, they adjusted and made the wedding party and guest comfortable, warm and welcomed. It was heartwarming to see some of the first pictures and videos and smiles and laughter on all the faces. It was the most beautiful wedding. Thank you Tim and Carol for your professionalism that came across as warm and friendly.

My sister had her wedding here and it was absolutely gorgeous! The forest background and perfectly elegant landscaping is breath-taking and she couldn't have picked a more perfect place! The owners were extremely gracious and helpful with all the details and went out of their way to accommodate us. I would highly recommend this venue to all couples looking to tie the knot in the area!

My wife and I had our wedding at DDM and it was wonderful! The owners were quite gracious before, during and after (some kids were picking flowers-we were warned but never charged for the damage) our event. Very beautiful grounds. The only issue was that we had to be out by sundown (the owner live there, so I get it) which was tough because our day flew by and we were having such a great time there!

The contracts and rules are intimidating at first, but a reasonable party will have no problem. I totally understand why they have to state explicitly what is OK and what is not OK after talking to people who serve weddings (Unforgettable Service -wonderful as well!), some people can be so clueless, immature and irresponsible. Like any responsible business owner DDM takes care of their clients and their investment. WE LOVED DDM!

The owners were nice and the property was cute & whimsical. The husband owner will even DJ your wedding for no additional charge (I think this is so they can control the noise). We didn't choose this venue foe several reasons: - No bands allowed - No hard alcohol - We really got the impression that the owner lady wasn't going to be pleasant to work with. But hey, we got a free pen! So it wasn't a complete waste of time.
