I love this bakery! their cakes are awesome! everything is! such a variety. Been coming here for generations!

I have been going there for years and I think their big goods are exceptional. But lately I am very disappointed in some of the service. Some of the new people that are working there are not friendly and frankly are a turn off. I called an order in for something specific that I always call Lynn and the girl told me that they don't have it that way and I said yes you do because I always order it and so she reluctantly took the order.

I went in the next day to pick it up and there was no record of my order and I was very upset. So I asked where my order was and the girl behind the counter who is Polish was a little bit snippy with me and was talking to the other Polish person working there and I know they were talking about me in Polish which I think is very very rude. These girls need to be talked to.

In a service business you do not speak a foreign language in front of the customers because they feel that they are being talked about. And she had a very bad attitude with me more than one time when I came in there. As much as I love this business I'm seriously considering not going back and telling my friends about this situation that they should not go in.

I feel bad about this because you do great things in a bakery like yours is a dying breed and they can't afford to ill treat their customers with an attitude when they come in. I hope management sees this and does some thing about those Polish waitstaff.

Two cakes in one month, wow what a celebration, one cake was pineapple the other strawberries. Their whip cream and butter cream were perfect very tasty. Cakes were delicious and moist, great price. I tip my hat thank you and will refer others to buy. Thank you for making our days enjoyable. Woo hoo

Delicious cakes for an amazing price! Came here for my wedding cake and just picked up my birthday cake today.

I wrote about Reuter's in 2014, so this is an update. I was moved to write because I was given a large heart cookie with sprinkles on Valentine's Day. To be truthful, I thought to myself."It's a plain sugar cookie, don't expect much". Well, was i wrong! i took a piece, then another piece.and well, only meaning to eat half, I finish it in no time flat.

Where was the cookie from? Reuter's! I commented on how good the cookie was to my adult daughter. She also had one of these heart cookies, but hadn't yet tried it. The next day, she said the same thing.that it looked ordinary, but it was extra yummy. Because of the Covid pandemic, i had not been in Reuters for two years. It was a very happy day when I was back.

If only i had known how good that large sugar cookie tasted beforehand, I would have bought some. However, I was able to get fresh strawberry donuts, chocolate covered donuts, custard donuts, fancy cookies.you get the idea. Bakery heaven! Keep up the good work! :

Came back for a second cake, this time it was a simple smash cake and it was perfection! The confetti decorations were super cute but some of the pieces had to be removed before I could let the little one have at it. I did also get some of their amazing yellow and chocolate cupcakes but they seemed to be a little bit dry. Still everything is well worth it. Great prices, easy people to work with and the quality of the baked goods is splendid!

The picture says it all! This cake was exactly what I asked for! My fiance absolutely loved his cake and it was a show stopper! Impressed everyone at our party! I will definitely be coming back to Reuters for any of my events in the future!

They put care into every crafted item they bake. This place was my first job in high school 17 years ago, I still go back to get cakes and pastries. That tells you a lot about a place. They use high quality ingredients and also make fun seasonal pastries. My favorite items are the raspberry torte cake, cherry kolaczki, hand made turtle candies and fresh strawberries custom cakes. I have more favorites but go see and try for yourself.

They made a birthday cake for my kids. It turned out way better then I anticipated. It was absolutely delicious, super affordable, and had an artistic feel to it. That cake was the talk of the party. I will be returning. I highly recommend.

One of my favorite bakeries. I've never had a bad experience. All their treats are delicious and always taste fresh. My personal favorites are their zucchini muffins

I had a sweet sixteen cake made and it was exactly as my Grandaughter wanted absolutely Beautiful! Everyone commented on it Thank you Great job!

Overpriced. Rude staff. Not the only game in town. I will never set foot in this place again. Weber's is way better. You get quality baked goods at reasonable prices from employees that are happy you are there! Not like the old hens at Reuters.

Reuter's is a great local bakery where I can get a delicious cake on a whim. Our favorite is the eclair cake, a delicious, cream puff adorned, strawberry filled masterpiece. This place is so amazing and the prices reflect their desire to make beautiful food accessible to folks. Everything we've had from Reuter's was delicious, well made and flavor balanced.

Very upsetting.got my daughter's birthday cake here and they totally messed it up! Asked for Chocolate Buttercream and they put regular Buttercream on it. Don't these people check their cakes? When I went to pick it up, all the lady at the counter said was"the baker must have read it wrong". Seriously? I get $10.00 off for the birthday cake my daughter wouldn't eat. God forbid it wasn't a wedding cake.

This location refusing to have good customer service to any African Americans. I stated on the past that when I call the bakery staff noticed the tone in my voice and quickly give me an attitude. Someone really needs to retrain staff.

I cannot say enough good things about the quality of the cake and cupcakes we ordered. The customer service was exceptional and the price was extremely reasonable, I was surprised with how low the bill was. The cake was BEAUTIFUL and so freaking delicious! We ordered 2 dozen cupcakes - mix of vanilla and chocolate filled with whip cream. perfection! I won't be going to any other bakery again.

Five dollar minimum charge on the debit card. Omg, the chocolate donuts are amazing! Nice coffee cakes too. I tried the long johns but they were too chewy for me. I have gotten some nice cakes here.

Tried to reach out to Reuter's but nothing. Service has gone down hill. You have now lost a customer.

Love this bakery for its breakfast baked goods - danishes, etc. Too many difficult choices to make on a weekend morning before I have had my coffee. Only wish that they could label their offerings so that I didn't have to ask their staff what they had and what everything was.

Ordered my sons birthday cake and I loved how they did it and it tasted great! The service was amazing lady was very helpful as well!

BEST bakery I've ever been to. My friend told me about this bakery about 8 years ago and I go here for ALL KINDS OF CAKESThey have messed my cakes up at least twice but it was fixed and I was pleased! I have referred hundreds of people here. I should get HALF-OFF my next cake

I needed a last minute cake for a celebration and they were able to take my order with only 2 days notice where other bakeries turned me away. I was pleasantly surprised with how delicious the cake was. Everyone loved the fresh fruit and custard and how the frosting was not overly sweet where you feel like you're going to get a cavity. The staff was pleasant. We also picked up 2 Boston cream pazcki that just melted in your mouth. I will definitely be returning to order my cakes from here.

They made a beautiful cake for my baby shower last year! We had so many compliments! Now my daughter is turning one and we plan on having them doing another for us!

Very upset for the money that I paid for my sons 14th Birthday cake under quarantine came out to be horrible. All bread and not enough cannoli filling and the picture design was semi blurry. We have been trying to support small businesses during this horrible time and this was a slap in the face.

This spot is a staple in my neighborhood for over 30 + years and has been frequented by my family, friends, and parents. Today I was in with my wife to get an almond cake and butterscotch pecan cake which I have bought with no issues or complaints, ever. My biggest issue was watching an older white gentleman who I found out to be the owner of Reuters, rearranging the bread rolls with.his.bare.hands.

I work in the food service industry and am certified by the state of Illinois to do so. I don't care if his hands were cleaned 60 seconds before, it is a health and food code violation. I was appalled by it I walked out. I am contemplating calling the city of Chicago about this. Such a shame, he couldn't just put on a pair of gloves? Or use wax paper?

I have ordered multiple cakes from here with different fillings all the time. Not only are they fresh, tasty, but absolutely beautiful. They work with your budget and they have always exceeded my vision that I was going with.havent been disappointed

Best tasting cakes! We always get all of our cakes from Reuters. They are always delicious. I get a Halloween cake every year and they never disappoint! The ladies are always so nice and have been so good to my kids. Great neighborhood bakery with great looking and great tasting cakes. They have so much to choose from. They will make just about anything.

First time here and let me say they pulled it off! I called last minute for a cake and they fit me in with ease! (last bakery fell through) Anyway not only are they friendly the cake was gorgeous and tasty! They have my business from now on! Edit: The name (samuel) I did it with wooden letters. I told the bakery not to do it but i changed my mind after the fact so I bought letters.

Birthday right before Christmas weekend no worries. I went in and the owner offered to write Happy Birthday on the Santa Choo Choo it was the sweetest gesture. Can I say I love Reuters Bakery? I do my granddaughters gonna love it!

Our wedding was in November, and our venue uses Reuter's Bakery for cakes. Let me just say, our cake was AMAZING! Nancy was so kind and easy to work with. She gave us many samples to taste, all of which were super moist & flavorful. I showed her a picture of what I wanted the cake to look like, and they nailed it! Highly recommend - I had lots of guests ask where our cake was from. Thank you Reuter's for a deliciously perfect cake!

Reuter's can do no wrong. As far as bakeries go, they have the absolute best cookies EVER. Their cakes are nice, but the cookies are where it's at. The staff is a little cold but the product is great.
