We are so happy that we had our wedding at Astoria! Max was always very responsive to emails and made sure we didn't have to worry about anything. The venue is breathtaking and so elegant! It's everything I always wanted for my wedding day. We had no issues the day of. Everything was put out exactly as I requested it be. Our guests had the best time! I highly recommend booking with Astoria!

This review is long overdue. After having to prepay a $3600 gratuity, the staff couldn't even place our families at the proper tables. The layout was turned in 5 weeks before the wedding. No apologies, no refund, so no referrals. More than anything though, I was personally affronted by the feminist approach to selling services. It's not just "HER" big day, it's our day and I think their inflated costs will eventually close their doors. Edit: Our wedding was March 14 2014.

As I said."Long overdue" Astoria can claim the review was meant for another venue all they want, but the facts still remain and it's understandable they're embarrassed about their incompetent service. We managed to rug-sweep their failings because my wife's immediate family (that was sat furthest from the wedding party) didn't want to create a scene.

Had my wedding here and everything was beyond perfect. So many ways to customize so your wedding is truly your own. Max was great and very helpful when we had questions. Thank you for helping make my wedding beautiful.

Nice spot with hundreds of possibilities, full control of lights, walls with hooks everywhere to cover the walls if wanted. and a huge bar and a kitchen with a window. And the Lady in charge is a total sweetheart and I read something about her showing up with a huge dog lol that's her baby. he was a gentle giant.

I can totally understand why they are one of the best of the Knot 6 years in a row. Seriously incredible venue. Their staff is phenomenal - attentive, hands on, and as a wedding vendor (DJ), they made the day go by very easily. Food is really good, the venue itself is beautiful. Hands down one of the best venues I've been a DJ at.

My daughter was married at Astoria on Saturday December 4th. It was absolutely beautiful! Max was truly wonderful and we want to say THANK YOU for EVERYTHING! Max was polite, easy to work with and truly an experienced professional in helping us plan. He has a calm to him that always made me feel like everything was going to be perfect, and it truly was! Beautiful decor, nice staff, on time and organized! Thank you for a wonderful and Beautiful day.

Had a Wedding Planned for April 2020 which needed to be cancelled due to Covid. Today the same couple got to celebrate a baby shower with their friends and family. Astoria made everything so easy. The food was the best banquet food I ever had. The Decor was beautiful. The service was great Don't think Twice book your event

Upon booking this venue you will MOST DEFINITELY need a coordinator. You will also need to read your contract before signing, ask questions because although the venue is nice, for everything you see will cost an additional fee. So for which ever aisle or set up you select please know there is a price for it. It does not come with the packages. They up charge for ceremony decor, Lounge area, dancing on clouds, name on the floor. Is additional money. Hundreds of dollars so factor that into your budget. Max was flexible and he communicated well through email.

The food was cold and came out slow. We didn't have too many issues because we had an awesome wedding coordinator. Astoria will not let you know about up charges until 30-60 days before your event. This venue was ok but need to be updated because for the amount of money you spend, and once you go to chose your decor there is not a huge selection. Overall we enjoyed our wedding but we credit that to our awesome coordinator and again Max communicated pretty well answering whatever questions we had.

I had my wedding in July 2021 and I'm so glad that I booked Astoria. I love how their packages include a lot of choices and you can always modify, add and personalized it to your style. I felt like I didn't have to do much. Max was very communicative and helped us through the process. He explained everything in great details, including the price and payments.

There were no surprised charges at all. The food turned out really good. All my guests couldn't stop talking about it. My wedding couldn't be anymore perfect and effortless, thanks to the amazing team at the Astoria.

I officiated a wedding here yesterday and it was awesome and amazing! The staff are friendly and professional! The banquet hall was gorgeous!

Absolutely terrible place. They do not care about their couples. They only care about money. Max is not a nice guy. Do not come here!

Attended anniversary party. Nice looking place. Seems disorganized. Food ok. Big issue was miscommunication between bar and management. Bar was supposed to be open yet bartender kept saying it was not. Eventually they got if figured out. Everything just seemed to move slow.

My husband and I got married at Astoria this past Friday, November 15, 2019. We had a great time, everything for the most part ran smoothly from the moment we got there to the time that we had to leave. Management from day one was on top of everything, they kept us clued in as to what all the steps were and what packages were offered. they walked with us through the building through the up lighting process and they went over the menu with us until every detail was perfect.

The only thing that I would change is more training in terms of alcohol service. The bartenders absolutely need to be more aware of whom they are serving and how much they are serving and went to cut people off. Myself as the bride should not have gone up to the bar to cut people off that was not my job and that was the only part of the whole thing that made me upset. Otherwise, I would recommend this place to anyone who is looking to do a wedding on a budget, as this place is extremely accomodating for all price ranges.

Found this banquet hall online. Wasn't really sure about it, but I decided to hold a party here. Staff was on top of everything, food was amazing, the manager was really nice. I was so happy with the service and now I'm having my 3rd party here. Amazing!

Our wedding at Astoria Banquets on June 24, 2017 was one of the best moments of our life. Amairani was the staff member in attendance and she was very professional and kind throughout the entire day. The decor was everything that I wanted and more. We would like to just say thank you helping us celebrate our special day!

This is easily one of my favorite wedding venues to work with. The reception hall is always beautifully decorated and the staff is very professional. I would recommend Astoria Banquets to any wedding couple.

Attended a wedding here and the place is just horrible. It might look good but when it came down to the wedding and evrything organized its a shame that they are in business. The staff is rude, evrything was runing late. When a wedding is one of biggest events in your life you want to trust someone and know that they will do their best but at the end of the day all they care at Astoria is money and how to cut corners. Dont be fooled by the good decor because good service doesnt come with the package.

I have even found that they had yelp reviews under a similar name before but when everyone complained they just decided to make a new one to dodge bad reviews. Use some else thats more trustworthy and reliable.

2.5 stars rounded down to 2. I was surprisingly disappointed with this venu. I attended my cousin-in-law's wedding on a Saturday. The ceremony started at 5:30pm. It was very hot outside. After thr short ceremony we waited in the lobby while the dinner tables were being set up. The main lobby was so hot all the guests were sweating and uncomfortable. Seriously? It's not like the wedding was booked last minute.

The venu should have planned for the weather and turned on the AC in advance. The womens restroom had 2 stalls that were out of order. Plus, the one handicapped stall that had a baby changing station was horrible. It was set up so high that I did not feel comfortable reaching up to change my baby on it. The room with the bar smelled like food+BO. One of the male servers smelled horribly of BO. One of the female servers literally tossed the cake plates at us.

We had our wedding reception at Astoria in June of 2017. A night that culminated after we first met Lora and Max (the Proprietors) 10 months earlier. They were very professional, caring and understanding from the very first moment we walked into Astoria. Lora helped us with every detail of our reception and was also tremendously helpful with suggestions and recommendations.

One of the great things about booking our event at Astoria (among many others) was the fact that our wedding cake was included within the package. We had the opportunity to taste various cakes and custom design our own, from the Baking Institute, which turned out perfectly. We also, had the opportunity to choose our menu items, and taste the dinner and side dishes months before the event.

The food was delicious for our tasting as it was for our wedding night. The room was decorated beautifully and in perfect conjunction with our colors for the evening. Astoria has a myriad of ways to decorate the room with colors, Chandeliers, winding staircases, garden views, lighting and accessories that went beyond what we could have imagined. Since our wedding was a military affair, color schemes and patterns are hard to find. Astoria was able to accommodate us perfectly.

All of our guests enjoyed the food, the atmosphere, the beautiful surroundings and decor for photos and above all the professional and caring service that Astoria gave us. The wait staff and bartenders were very helpful and accommodating and went above and beyond what one would expect. They created for us an unforgettable night. We cannot adequately encapsulate the great qualities of Astoria and its people in such a short review; needless to say, we give it 5 out of 5 stars in every aspect and highly recommend it. Astoria is the Hidden Gem in the North Cook/Lake County area.

Most beautiful wedding venue! Frank was an amazing bartender, he was speedy, friendly and was efficient. With an open bar, many people and one bartender you expect a line but NOT WITH THIS GUY. This venue has all of the upgrades, chandeliers throughout, beautiful chairs, elegant wall details. Food was good (potatoes are dry could use some gravy) hors d'oeuvres were excellent.

We had a baby shower event on October 23, 2016. It was such an amazing event made possible by Astoria Banquets. Since we first met banquet managers, especially Laura, till the end of the event was really good experience working with them. It was exactly as we imagined the event would be. Their staff arranged everything with the asked decoration and all other arrangements and extras. I will refer friends and family if they are planning to arrange any future events, that location and banquet is a very good choice.

Attending a wedding reception here. Very nice venue. There are two stories, not sure what's upstairs but I assume more banquet space. A bar sits just to the right of the main entrance where the wedding party filled up on adult beverages prior to entering the main dining room. Main dining room was rather large and decorated quite nicely with an adequate dance floor in the center. Tables can be arranged in a variety of ways. Dinner was delicious and the wait staff was on point. Looks like this spot can accommodate a very large crowd if necessary.

Astoria was wonderful! Max and Lora went out of their way to make sure everything was as promised. The food was delicious, the venue was beautiful and the service was impeccable! Cannot thank the Astoria staff enough. Thank you for making my wedding a dream come true! Highly recommend Astoria for your wedding venue! By the way, do not let the outside turn you away.

It is hideous but once your inside its beyond beautiful and you forget what the outside looks like. Plus there's ample parking for your guest; Chrissy & Rocky Tektumanidze

I had my wedding here recently. Here are some comments: 1) The outside is hideous but the inside can be gorgeous. 2) We visited twice and saw other people's set ups which looked gorgeous w/ the right dimming of lights. Our actual wedding did not look like what the other ones did. It was way too bright the whole night so it didn't look as pretty. 3) The people at Astoria are really hard to reach.

It takes a few days, maybe a week to receive a call back or email return. 4) No one told us that the ceremony would have an "L" shape walkway down the aisle. It was really weird to have the doors open and instead of walking in a straight line down the aisle, I walked in an "L" shape down the aisle. 5) We had agreed and paid for a "special" drink with Lora in our contract.

They did not provide that at the wedding. I asked one of the employees at the wedding why our "special" drink was not being offered and he came back and said they can make 1 drink but there was not enough for the whole party. 6) Max had told me we had 15 minutes after the ceremony to take pictures w/ the decorations before it was being taken down.

As soon as the ceremony ended, they started tearing down immediately. When I asked for pictures, they let us, but continued tearing it down. Our background for the pics did not turn out great. 7) We were told that "family" style meant each person would receive their own plate, and then there would be a "family" sharing portion in the middle of the table.

This was most certainly not the case. Our choices were chicken and beef, so they put one plate of chicken and one plate of beef in the center of each table and everyone had to get their own portions on their plates. we were unhappy with this. 8) Relating to the food- The chicken was o.k, it was different than the tasting. I even had to ask the attendant what it was because it was so different!

The beef, however, was extremely dry, bleh! The cream of brocolli soup was ok. The salad was fine, it had soft croutons. 9) Max and Lora apparently do not come to the weddings. There was one head employee there during the wedding and he was impatient and rude. I would have liked to know ahead of time that they wouldn't have been there so I knew who my "go to" person was. 10) I filled out a table chart and submitted it on time.

When I saw the actual layout in person, it was completely different than the table chart I submitted. 11) Also, the cake they provide in the contract comes from the Baking Institute. Please see my 1 star review for the Baking Institute on yelp. 12) Our ceremony started at 6pm and at 5:55, I heard a ton of people still in the foyer. I sent one of my BM's down to see why people weren't being let into the ceremony room to be seated.

The Astoria employee said they were waiting for instructions from US to tell them to seat people. what? When the foyer is overcrowded and the ceremony starts in 5 minutes, I think you should let people in! If this is standard procedure that we have to give instructions on when to open the doors, then we should have been told to do that ahead of time!

People were getting antsy and some people stood out there for an hour! People who arrived first should have got to pick out their seats to get a good spot at the ceremony. first come first serve. But they probably got screwed. Overall, I wouldn't really recommend this place. What they promise you and what they deliver is not worth it.

Pretty average. The food was your typical corrugated cardboard overcooked chicken breast with mushy squash on the side. The way the place is laid out is very strange. You walk in the main entrance and you find yourself in a hall facing 3 separate banquet rooms. Everyone is running around in suits and dresses and you are disoriented. I almost wandered into the wrong reception. The soundproofing is horrible and you heard three different DJs at the same time which made for an interesting experience.
