Disappointed. When we arrived the first thing the innkeeper said to us was that we were early and that check in is not until 4pm. Not the best greeting you should receive. Our room was very nice but the inn smelled of mold. Breakfasts were also disappointing very small portions. Usually inns provide tea & snacks in the afternoon there wasn't any of that. We won't be returning.

Everything from the porch and fountains to the romantic/antique feel of the interior decor, to the room (Darlington) and the candlelight breakfast in the parlor was so wonderful. Lori is a great innkeeper and the lady helping serve breakfast made everything sound magnificent. The breakfast was a delicious quiche, homemade breads, bacon and fresh fruit. Would absolutely come back.

My wife and I had an incredible 3 day stay at the Bed & Breakfast in March. The breakfasts were unique and phenomenal. The character of the house is amazing. Downtown West Chester is minutes away with what seemed like a 100 restaurants to choose from. Throughout our 3 and 1/2 day stay we saw couples exploring the grounds to have their intimate small weddings there and my wife and I are definitely planning our next corporate seminar there. Lori and John are the absolute best hosts.

My wife and I were travelling to visit our son and wanted to visit Longwood Gardens on our way back and needed a place to stay overnight. I can't say how happy we are that we found Faunbrook. The owner was super accommodating at setting up a late check in for us and even upgraded our room to a suite at no charge! The breakfast was outstanding and she packed up the extra fresh baked banana bread to take with us to snack on during our visit to Longwood Gardens!

Omg this B&B is super cute, I love it! I went to visit my boyfriend's family that was visiting, of course wore masks but the indoor area was so spaced apart we could be comfortable without masks. The rooms are so nice and there's a mirror on every corner, love it! I really like how each room is so different and the owner was so sweet and greeted us.
The only thing I didn't like was just the entrance it was very narrow but other than that the house indoors and outdoors was so cute, I definitely would stay here. I heard they do weddings and venue type of things here.

We had a wonderful visit at Faunbrook B&B. The house is so unique and the inn is well run. We felt comfortable relaxing in all the common spaces, regrettably not warm enough to enjoy the wrap around porch. The breakfasts were fantastic, with fresh and locally sourced ingredients. They even were able to accommodate our request for gluten free dishes. It was our first adventure out since COVID, and it was nice that guest could dine in more than one room to give us the space we wanted.

My husband and I have stayed here on our honeymoon. We were greeted on arrival and left to ourselves (so peaceful)during the stay until 9am we were greeted and served breakfast. We love everything about the place :), our room we stayed in was so beautiful. The house is gorgeous, we loved the architecture, smell and antique furniture.

My boyfriend and I stayed in Isabel's room for three nights in February. Despite it being the midst of Covid we had truly the BEST time. Not only is the Faunbrook lovely, extremely clean, quiet and comfortable, the Innkeeper Laurie was a perfect host. The food was DEVINE. unreal. And Lori was perfectly present if we needed anything yet also totally gave us space to do our own thing.
We had the whole house to ourselves the week we were there and we enjoyed spending time on the porch and in the sitting room singing- we had full use of the Piano. On our last morning another couple was there for breakfast, Laurie accommodated our needs of social distance by seating us in the sitting room and serving us there! She also left delicious homemade cookies for us throughout our stay.
We WILL be back and could not recommend this place more! It was the exact getaway we needed. We loved the beautiful bathroom, the outdoor area is beautiful and close enough to walk to the town. We didn't even have a car and we took the half hour walk to the town many times to explore.

Finally posting about our wonderful weekend at our favorite historic spot in PA. Lori and John are so welcoming, and the rooms are just stunning. We love spending time in the parlor in front of the fireplace. As always, breakfast was delicious! This time we had stuffed croissant French toast! Everything about Faunbrook is romantic, and I can't wait until we can return after the shelter-in-place order is lifted.

I recently had my baby shower at Faunbrook Inn and I can't tell you how many compliments I have had from everyone who attended. Lori (the innkeeper) was great - so professional and kind to us. She met with us a few times before the shower to make sure everything was planned to our liking. Everything was beautiful - the indoors and outdoors were just gorgeous.
The most beautiful venue for pictures and we were lucky to have such a pretty day although Lori was prepared to help us have everything indoors if needed. The space of the venue is very big, and there were so many nooks we were able to take advantage of to setup little stations (mimosas, games) and we were even able to use her sound system to play baby shower tunes from our cell phone around the house.
If you use the Faunbrook for your event, I would definitely recommend Cathy Z from Triple Fresh to be the caterer. She was the nicest and most reasonable of all the vendors I spoke with and she (along with Lori) made this truly one of the best days of our life. I would recommend again and again!

Celebrated our anniversary here. Lori was lovely as was the breakfast. However, no air conditioning caused 2 nights of little to no sleep. Very uncomfortable. Also large bath toiletries in the shower - shampoo, conditioner, body wash for our use (and the people before us, and the people before them.). It may save some plastic in the environment, but I prefer individual toiletries. Not a deal breaker, but would have been nice to have a tv in the room.

The Great -- the location is perfect. You are only minutes away from all the sites and sounds of Kennett Square and West Chester. Breakfast on the two days we were there was outstanding. The sausage is locally sourced and the owner truly does meet any and all dietary needs. The exterior and surrounding layout is beautifully and scenic with lights, waterfalls, and a nice pathway to walk down for a read on a bench or lunch outside.
The Good -- the inside was well kept and seemed to be a step back in time. Also, the room had waters stocked each day which was an added plus. The bed was very comfortable and had ample pillows to choose from for firmness. You couldn't hear anything from any of the other guests. It seems as if you are alone when in your room. The Bad -- it could use some dusting as parts of the house was a bit in need. Also, and don't let this be a deal breaker for you, when gathering everything to leave, we saw a mouse bait trap under our bed (as well as random items). Maybe it's from being an older house or being too busy to keep up? I don't know.

My wife and I are West Chester university alum and try to make it back to the town once a year to stay overnight. We've passed this place many times, but this was our first time staying here (also first time at a bed and breakfast). This house and our room had so much character, with all of its little details making it truly special. The best compliment we can give is my wife and I were already looking at which room we are going to stay in next time we come to West Chester!

My husband and I got married at Faunbrook in July of 2015 and we couldn't be happier with the place. We first toured Faunbrook in the winter of 2015 but even without the foliage of the trees we could see the amazing potential of this place - with it's vintage appeal and wraparound porch we felt like we had stepped into another time and that's precisely what we wanted for our wedding. Faunbrook is just perfect if you are looking to have a small wedding - you can rent the space for your wedding and rent the rooms upstair for your closest family and guests - once the wedding is over you can continue your afterparty there and go upstairs to your room when the night is over.
We got so many compliments on choosing Faunbrook for our wedding location - it's classic and timeless and a great backdrop for those romantic wedding photos you always dreamed of.

We were visiting relatives who lived about a mile down the road and didn't have enough room to stay, so we booked a room here. Lori the owner provided a house tour upon arrival as well as info on restaurants and her favorite attractions in the area. This inn is beautiful, and well maintained. The rooms are all unique, the breakfast was scrumptious, and the owner most hospitable.
If I didn't live so far away my fiance and I would have liked to plan some of our wedding events here (which they can accommodate). Pros: breakfast. We had a first course of a fruit medley and a potato frittata with a warmed scone and fresh juices with coffee the first day, and a granola, yogurt and fruit parfait with bananas foster, bacon and eggs the second day.
The third day we had a 4 cheese, herb and tomato frittata with organic chocolate chip pumpkin muffins and Canadian bacon. SO YUMMY! Cons: the front door is a little tricky to open and took two of us and a couple of tries, but Lori gave us her number upon arrival and would surely have opened it had we not been able to get in. As others have mentioned, if having a television in your room is important, only the suites have them.
But there is one in the reading room downstairs for the guests to use. Truthfully, I didn't really mind it. Overall, I highly recommend this B and B to anyone in the area just looking for a nice, relaxing, beautiful place to stay.

Had a wonderful time staying at Faunbrook B & B. We chose one of the suites with a fireplace and glad we decided to spend a little more money for the larger/cozy room. The decor throughout the house was beautiful, with 3 large christmas trees displayed throughout the house during the holiday season. A wonderful breakfast was made the following morning where you are expected to arrive for at about 9 am. Lori was very kind and even offered a military discount which we appreciated a great deal. Overall, a great experience if you understand what a B & B is, and what it is not.

Lovely, lovely bed and breakfast! The house is gorgeous but cozy at the same time. We came after Christmas and the decor blew me away, the home is decorated with huge Christmas trees and wreaths spruced up to fit the time period of the house. Both the living room and dining room have fire places that were roaring and keeping the common areas warm and homey.
My partner and I enjoyed playing a board game in the living room and perusing the books while sipping on the wine provided (free of charge!) by Lori (who is so helpful and friendly but not overbearing). The breakfast was a true treat. It was enormous and delicious: french toast, fruit, eggs, bacon (on the side for the vegetarians), coffee, tea and juice.
It was a pleasure to sit around the huge common table and chat with the other guests. We stayed in Isabel's Room, which is beautifully outfitted with period pieces, lovely wood floors and a comfortable bed. Good balance is necessary for using the shower: it is an old-fashioned tub and slightly tricky to maneuver around in. This would be the perfect place for a wedding! Would definitely return.

Excellent bed and breakfast. Nice old house with cast iron tubs and vintage bathrooms in the bedrooms, lovely decorating and ambiance. The breakfast was amazing and the owners very friendly. Learned about being an innkeep from the man who takes care of it at night it when owners are away. Single complaint is the beds let EVERYONE know what you are up to, loudest bed I've ever *slept* on : still 100% would visit again

Aside from providing first class service, absolutely fantastic breakfast, uniquely appointed rooms, and cordial conversation the host at this bed and breakfast went a step further by mailing me some belongings I left behind while frantically trying to get out of the hotel by check out. It makes me wonder about all those other things I've left behind at hotels, never to see them again. I'd like to thank the staff at this first class and breakfast for going above and beyond the call of duty. Highly recommended, well done.

My husband and I stayed here in early October, visiting our daughter at her boarding school nearby. The B&B itself is gorgeous: the big yard, giving a feeling of being out in the country, the lovingly restored and maintained historic house, and the beautiful, luxuriously-appointed guest rooms. But the icing on the cake (literally) was the extra effort our hosts went to for us.
It was our daughter's birthday, and they let us stage a little celebration for her in the dining room that night; we brought the cake and candles, and they supplied plates, napkins, forks, cake server, etc, and cleaned up afterwards. It was her first birthday away from home, and it really helped to be able to celebrate it in a beautiful, home-like setting. Then they got up quite early the next morning, to serve us breakfast before we had to leave for the Parents' Day activities. Thank you so much!

We had a wonderful wedding at Faunbrook. We booked the entire B&B for the whole weekend, so we had the rehearsal dinner, ceremony, and rehearsal all at Faunbrook. The location is beautiful and gave just the right feel for our wedding. Steve and Lori bent over backwards to help with all the requests, and worked with the vendors so we didn't have to be dragged into all the minute details. The wedding turned out perfect, and Lori & Steve were great hosts!

This was our second stay at Faunbrook and we have been equally pleased both times. Centrally located in West Chester, it's just a quick drive to all the Brandywine attractions. Lori and Steve have done a great job keeping up the large Victorian house. The porch and gardens are welcoming and the rooms are all clean with great bathrooms (I love a good bathroom.!) My husband is cutting back on his cholesterol, and Lori happily supplemented the quiche breakfast with tons of fresh fruit so we had something to eat. Quick Tip: Only the suites have TVs, so if that's important to you, be sure to book your room accordingly.

We got snowed in there last winter and had the most magical time. Great things about it: Lori & Steve are incredibly nice, the food is delicious and the place is beautiful inside and out, clean, quiet, well maintained, rooms are well worth the price, temperature is just right, beds are super comfy, games and fun books in the common space downstairs. Every place we've gone since we always compare to our stay at Faunbrook and so far, nothing has quite compared. Can't recommend it enough!

Faunbrook is such an amazing place. Beautiful, rustic, charming and more. I have hosted, attended and worked many events here, and every time it has been a wonderful experience. Owners Lori & Steve work very hard to keep Faunbrook a beautiful and elegant B&B in gorgeous West Chester. (Their dog Draven is the cutest thing ever!)
