I found a dress I fell in love with here on a Sunday at 1:00ish. They close at 3 on Sundays. I wanted to get approval from my school before getting it but my mom and I made it clear we really wanted it, and were planning on getting it ASAP. We called Monday when they were closed and then again Tuesday when they opened, however they already sold it.
I understand there isn't a hold policy, but I would think that a business like this should be more concerned with their customers rather than selling as many dresses as they can, and also be reliant as I made it clear I really wanted the dress. And to sell in only 2 hours just makes no sense to me. Im extremely upset because I loved the dress and now have to find another one. 100% don't recommend!

My future mother in law and I were in the area and we decided to stop in to look for a dress for her. We did not buy anything "to be fair she does not like dresses lol" but the staff was super friendly. They still had someone help us despite being busy and not having an appointment. I would love to stop here again when I need a dress for a special occasion.

This was not our first stop in dress shopping and really wish it would have been. They took the time to explain things, different styles, trains, alterations and even how to sit in certain styles. Helped us to pick different styles and colors to see which ones were best and never rushed us even when they were getting ready to close for the day. Also the quality and price were very good! You helped make this wedding experience and memories so much better! Ann and Jan were Great!

First the positives: They had the bridesmaid dress I needed and were helpful in making sure it was the right dress. For a 25 dollar rush fee I was able to get my dress within 2 months. They called me promptly to let me know it was there. The negatives start from there. Their seamstress Deelle was very rude and unprofessional. My husband came into the store once to hand me something I left in the car and this seamstress actually asked if he was my Uber driver.
My husband is a man of color. When I responded that he was my husband her response was judgmental and not at all apologetic. Given this is Pittsburgh, that is not surprising, however these women ought to learn how to serve all potential customers, and not just the white middle class it is clear they cater to. The old school attitudes of the owners, floor attendants and seamstresses were very apparent as they made no attempt to hide their opinions about a dress that I was purchasing.
I was outlandishly overcharged for subpar alterations ( My hem was fraying and there were exposed seams everywhere). When I pointed this out to Deelle she actually defended her work and argued with me rather than apologizing and responding in an attitude of true customer service. I understand that this isn't entirely the fault of the store, but I would expect above average quality alterations from the seamstress that is allowed to work out of this store.
When I realized just how wildly I was being overcharged, I called to see if my dress was still available to take back to get altered elsewhere. The owner refused to give me contact information for the woman and was very rude. She did attempt to contact the seamstress and left a message with me to communicate her unsuccessful attempt to reach Deelle.
I eventually heard from Deelle. Her response to me was very rude and she acted very offended when I eventually spoke with her. She said something about an unspoken rule where they give people 3 days to change their mind. I was never told about this and regardless, Deelle could have very well communicated this is a much friendlier way. Not professional.
The bottom line: I am glad I got my dress in time for the wedding, but I will not be giving these people anymore of my business, and I suggest you don't either. If you do purchase your dress through Carlisles I URGE you to get your alterations done elsewhere. That way you won't end up paying over 200 dollars for alterations that look mediocre.

I've been looking for a veil and I stopped by without an appointment. The woman at the desk quickly walked me back to their room with veils. Unlike the rest of the store this was like a storage room with better lighting and carpeting. The carpeting throughout the store was dirty. That wasn't what bothered me the most. The woman told me that the kind of veil I wanted was called a "cage"veil, not a drop veil.
She talked down to me as if I was dumb to use that word. Well she's just not correct. After substantial googeling (HA) A cage veil is short for a birdcage veil. That little short thing. a drop veil is the style that Katherine Middleton had where there's no bunched comb and a blusher that is all one piece. I don't like how uneducated she was about common bridal vocabulary.
