Being newly engaged is an exciting and joyful time for any couple and their families. After the engagement, questions begin about the proposal and the ring. However, a little stress can enter into this Cloud 9 moment as thoughts turn to when and where the nuptials might take place. Planning a wedding can be stressful, but it doesn't have to be.
Old Glory Ranch is home to The Republican Donkey Company. Come to the ranch to see our precious herd of grey-dun, reds, chocolate, and spotted miniatures. These animals make the most adorable and loving pets and add a delightful country ambiance to almost any setting. Our herd sire is a handsome young jack named "Roy Rogers, " whose sister was National Champion and Canadian Champion, proudly produced by country music's George Jones and Dolly Parton. Our miniature donkeys are used in numerous celebrations and special events at Old Glory Ranch, and they can add to the charm of your wedding reception, celebration, party or special event held on the ranch.
For over 20 years, Old Glory Ranch has delivered memorable and personal corporate events and experiences for groups and organizations like yours. I had my wedding at Old Glory Ranch earlier this month and it was the most memorable day. From the planning to the wedding day, I can't imagine a better team to help along the way. I kept hearing all night from my family and friends how beautiful the venue is and that they were so glad to be there. Karen and Suzanne both made sure that the vision for our wedding would be handled so thoughtfully. I could write a novel about how much I love this place, but I'll end it here. Thank you to all the Old Glory staff!

My wedding at Old Glory Ranch was a dream. I fell in love with this venue the first time I visited in 2019 and I never had any second doubts, despite having to postpone for a year (which they were extremely flexible about). The staff at Old Glory, especially Karen, was fantastic every step of the way. They worked with me to make sure every detail was exactly how I wanted it, especially when it came to the floral design.
Old Glory does all of their floral in-house. This was a bonus for me because it meant that I didn't have to deal with another vendor which helped lessen my stress levels. Something unusual about my wedding was that we had two buffet lines by two different caterers. I was worried that having two caterers might not work, but Karen made it happen! My guests had a wonderful time. This venue was everything I wanted and I am so happy I chose them for my wedding day!

Wow what a venue! I am so glad we chose this place. The team really cares about your wedding and truly want you to have a great time. It was so easy working with Karen and she was so helpful with all of my questions. If you're looking for a venue with some good old fashioned southern charm - this is the place. All of my guests said it was one of the best weddings they have been to in years because the venue was so charming, relaxing, and fun!

This evening was my first visit to Old Glory Ranch. It was a wonderful experience. We were at a friend's wedding. The Ranch was a beautiful place, very scenic. The people that work there were awesome. I have severely arthritic knees and have to use a cane. They have some utility vehicles to deliver folks from the parking area to the party pavilion. They went out of their way to have one available that sits lower so I had an easier time climbing aboard. Again, it was great

We had a beautiful wedding and reception at Old Glory Ranch. Karen and her team are truly amazing. They did everything possible to help us adjust our plans when we were faced with an unexpected rainy wedding day. The venue is simply gorgeous. We loved our experience and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable Hill Country wedding in one of the loveliest towns in Texas.

This venue is gorgeous, but what sets it apart is the staff. As a minister, I have officiated several weddings, and Karen and the staff here made everything smooth and timely. Whatever needed to happen - planned or not - was attended to professionally and promptly. They were always courteous and gentle, even in an awkward situation. Highly recommended for any family looking for a memorable wedding day.

Great place for events - ended up doing a 'mystery dinner' event and that was a blast. First enjoyed & explored the venue, then dinner & drinks, finally got into the event portion. ALL during this coronavirus activity (Event was 9/12/2020).they accommodated well, nothing to be worried about. Host led us through the night while we tried to figure out, based on different character parts that you play (you get a script to read with clues and things to say / what not to say), who committed the crime.
Very fun and something different! Highly recommend trying it out, breaking out of your comfort zone (play a part, no acting involved, just talking & laughing), and enjoy this place at LEAST once. Great event to be a part of - will definitely try to hit another one.

Old Glory is hands down the BEST WEDDING VENUE EVER! From day one, my now husband and I were greeted with so much kindness, knowledge, and care during our tour. Throughout the planning process, Karen made sure we always had our questions answered, and we could feel that the staff at OGR truly and whole heartedly cared about us and our wedding day.
She went above and beyond to provide suggestions, communication with vendors, and reassurance through the pandemic. Even on wedding day she helped calm me down by talking me through every step up until I took that first step down the aisle! Suzanne literally made my floral dreams come true! My ideas were a little different, yet she knew exactly what I was going for and executed it PERFECTLY.
We even dipped into the river after our ceremony and got some pretty amazing photographs! We have received countless compliments about how gorgeous the venue, florals, and other decorations were, as well as it being "the best wedding they've ever been to". Carey made sure our day ran flawlessly, I literally cannot think of one thing that didn't go as planned.
Old Glory has weddings down to a T. In the end, everyone at OGR (Karen, Carey, Wade, Suzanne, etc.!) felt like family, and they really made sure that our wedding day was the best day of our lives. THANK YOU I wish we could do it all again!

This place is incredible. We had a Catholic ceremony at the church in town, so we just did our reception at the ranch, but the transition was seamless and I have no doubt that doing the ceremony there too would have been just as beautiful. Also, we had to do our wedding planning from California (though I'll admit we had PLENTY of help thanks to our mamas), but when Old Glory says they'll take care of the details, they mean it.
We did not worry about a single thing for the entire weekend. Every staff member was kind, competent, and fun to be around; the music, flowers, and decor were perfect; the flow of the evening was flawless; and the tips, connections, and advice they gave in choosing vendors made sure that we had everything we wanted while still being conscious of our budget. Plus, our guests were still telling us all the different things they enjoyed about the ranch over a month later. We had a truly perfect wedding, and I can't recommend OGR highly enough.

This place started out as a very positive experience a year ago when we booked the venue. However due to COVID-19, the shelter in place order and curfew of Hays county and many others around the country our wedding had to be cancelled. Not to mention the moral responsibility to not put others in danger. Old Glory Ranch was quick to respond to all phone calls and email inquiries leading up to COVID.
Basically when they were in the drivers seat of taking our money. However when the news started circulating about COVID we inquired on what their plans were for the event and then they suddenly stopped communicating. After multiple follow ups we were told they were looking into their options. Then after multiple follow ups to get a response to "Their Options" they decided that they were keeping $3,000 for services rendered.
I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND AGAINST LOOKING INTO THIS VENUE. THEY ONLY CARE ABOUT MAKING MONEY AND DONT CARE WHATSOEVER ON DOING THE RIGHT THING DURING A NATIONAL CRISIS #COVIDHIJACKER *****Update on 7/7/2020 in response****** The only option was to reschedule the wedding and not lose any money. Or to have a small ceremony on the date for the amount of money that had been collected up until that point.
Which would have been more than the $3,000 worth of deposits that you kept for "Services Rendered" Every other vendor that we had scheduled had no issues with canceling and refunding the money that had been paid up until that point. Because it was out of anyone's control. They had force du jour clauses in their contract and didn't try to take advantage of the situation and then scramble to try and justify their actions.
We proactively reaches out to you guys on March 16th asking what you guys were doing given the direction of the CDC, WHO, social gatherings directive etc. You didn't respond to us until March 20th and said our option was to reschedule and Karen Wasn't given the authority to cancel. We responded on March 22 saying rescheduling was not an option due to the uncertainty of COVID and how long this was going to drag out and that we would like to cancel.
We were told the Suzanne needed to talk to her accountant to see what her options were. Then we followed up a week later after hearing nothing to be told that you were keeping the deposits for services rendered and sending back the difference. There wasn't any sort of conversation to speak with us on other alternatives besides you were keeping the deposits and that if we wanted to reschedule we could apply that money towards it. Had you guys done the right thing and what every other vendor did this review would be significantly different. I STRONGLY RECOMMEND ANYONE WHO DECIDES TO USE OGR TO DEMAND A CHANGE TO THE CONTRACT WITH A "FORCE DU JOUR CLAUSE" their contract only states natural disasters.

Our experience with Old Glory Ranch was invaluable. The team from day one made us feel welcome and at home. Karen did an upstanding job meeting and anticipating our needs at every turn during the planning process. I highly recommend the day of coordinator, Carrie made our day seamless. I'm grateful for Old Glory Ranch and the incredible team making our wedding memorable and beautiful!

Choosing Old Glory Ranch in Wimberley, Texas for our daughter's wedding was an easy decision. On arrival to the venue for our tour with Karen, we fell in love with the flowered pastures with grazing miniature donkeys, the beautiful rustic chapel, and magnificent old sprawling trees. The chapel has lovely stained glass and large pieces of furniture that make decorating possibilities endless. OGR was very accommodating for my daughter's engagement and bridal photos. Karen who worked with us through the entire process was amazing.
Her mission was for the family to enjoy the process and on the big day to have nothing to think about but enjoying family and friends. Suzanne, owner of Old Glory Ranch, met with us for our design meeting. We had a few absolute choices for flowers and arrangements, but she was very helpful in offering additional possible design ideas and in some areas, we left it up to her and what she knew worked well. Floral and decor exceeded our expectations!
The outside was decorated as beautifully as the inside. Carey, our event planner, created our timeline and the evening flowed perfectly. We live in Houston, but because communication was timely and detailed with all the staff, it allowed for flawless long- distance planning with just a couple onsite meetings. Having the freedom to utilize inside and outside made it a perfect evening for everyone.
During the reception, guests had the option of enjoying inside with music and a dance floor with ample seating or relaxing outside on the patio or under beautifully lite trees while flickering lightening bugs joined in the festivities!

It is NOT okay to keep a deposit because a wedding had to be cancelled because of COVID 19! The bride is already devastated because her wedding was ruined by a global pandemic and now you want keep her deposit for something she can not control. I can't believe that this company is so money hungry to do that! Rant over! I DO NOT recommend this place!

We went to a murder mystery here and it was so much fun! The food was good but they did such a terrific job of decorating the place and setting up the mystery as we all worked in teams to solve it. If you have a chance this is a great place to go with a partner or a friend or even your son or daughter like I did : they encourage dressing up for the time period and all I can say is I can't wait to go back! I can see why this would be a wonderful place to have a wedding as well.

Just attended a Christmas wedding here. We all agreed it reminded us of a Hallmark Christmas special. A cold rainy evening and they handled it perfectly. Great food. I think the best salmon I've ever eaten. Fabulous decorations. Professional and helpful staff. I highly recommend this place for your special event -- especially weddings.

My wedding at Old Glory was an absolute dream! Nothing was left out of the dream wedding that I imagined as a little girl. In fact, the wedding at Old Glory went above and beyond what I could imagine a wedding could even be! Old Glory is an absolute paradise! There is not an area that would not make the perfect picture with the trees, river, landscape, the chapel, and the wildflowers.
The bluebonnets were in full bloom the weekend we were married and that was the best surprise I could ever have imagined. My precious grandmother had passed away unexpectedly a month prior to my wedding and one of her favorite flowers was the bluebonnet. I have never seen so many beautiful bluebonnets! The best part of my wedding aside from the natural beauty of Old Glory was the staff!
I did not have to worry about a thing! The day went so smoothly and my only job was to show up and enjoy the day. That meant a lot to me especially when I have seen brides in the past as a bride maid stress out before, during, and after the wedding. The personal touches that the staff did that day was actually the best part of my day and was so unexpected.
I felt like I could have easily been royalty or a Hollywood celebrity that day with the friendliness of the staff knowing all the little things to say or do to make my experience one of a kind. For example, Gina took the time to take a picture of the first time my dad was able to see me dressed as a bride. That was a moment that she went above and beyond to capture a magical moment that will only happen once.
It was something that I did not even think about when I planned my wedding and I appreciate the fact that she stopped and took the time to do so. The staff easily could have been a part of my family the way they cared for each moment as if I was his or her daughter. I am very thankful and appreciative of each and every one at Old Glory for being a part of my wedding.
Last I wanted to comment on the fact that I loved that we received a "goodie bag" at the end of the day. This included FOOD! When I say that Old Glory thought of everything, they did! I was starving after our reception and I loved the fact that we had "his and her" plates with silverware to have afterwards. Thank you for remembering the little things like food. Thank you Old Glory for all your hard work! My goal was to have a day full of love and you all made that happen!

Old Glory Ranch is the perfect Texas Hill Country Venue. Not only is it beautiful, but the service and care we received was "top-notch". Our family and friends are still talking about how beautiful everything was from the bluebonnets to the centerpieces to how magical the day flowed. Old Glory Ranch made the planning painless from the beginning with all of their wonderful vendor recommendations and they took excellent care of us all the way to the end. Suzanne's passion for Old Glory Ranch and her eye for perfection were evident in all of the decor. Kim was our wedding coordinator and kept us all of us on track so I didn't have to worry about a thing. Gina and the OGR staff cared for my family and friends as their own. I cannot thank Suzanne and the amazing Old Glory Ranch staff enough for making my daughter's dream of a fairy tale wedding full of love a reality.

Our wedding at Old Glory Ranch was perfect in every way. The rustic features of this modern day chapel is complimented by the natural beauty of the Texas hill country. Gina, Kellye and the staff were very accommodating and provided first class service during the wedding planning and our big day. Our wedding party witnessed firsthand the outstanding quality of service, and still talk about it today.
We did the majority of the planning from long distance. Gina made sure to make this typically stressful process a breeze. We were so impressed how they thought of every single detail. Even months after the wedding, we were pleasantly surprised with a CD containing photos from our wedding. This was not part of our contract, but just a thoughtful gift from Old Glory Ranch. We could not have selected a better venue. Old Glory Ranch is simply just the best. ~ Celeste & Joe

Old Glory Ranch is the PERFECT setting for a beautiful, rustic, elegant, hill country wedding! All of the staff is very professional, accommodating, and helpful. They replied to every little question I had before the big day very promptly, and made me feel so at ease. Gina and Kellye were my wedding coordinaters, and its obvious that they really know their stuff!
My Dad, along with multiple guests, complimented their work. I have heard from almost all of the guests that attended our wedding that it was at least in the top 3 weddings they've been to, if not THE BEST! I am so happy with how everything went! We chose the wedding deck (on the Blanco river!) for our ceremony and the covered patio for our reception.
Everything was absolutely beautiful! The setting is not only gorgeous, but has such a fun and easy going vibe. The flowers were gorgeous! I provided a few examples of what I liked and the florists at Old Glory Ranch exceeded expectations. All of the arrangements were unique, beautiful, and exactly what I pictured! We used the in-house DJ, Chris Heckendorn, for our reception, and he nailed it!
He made the party really fun and kept it going! Everyone has said that he was SUCH a good DJ! If you are looking for a hill country wedding, where you'll get more than you could have ever imagined, LOOK NO FURTHER. Don't waste another minute - check out Old Glory Ranch for your wedding!

Our daughter's wedding was perfect! We are still on cloud nine as we think about the way the Old Glory Ranch team executed every detail (and there were many) so seamlessly. From the carriage ride with her dad before she walked down the aisle to the fireworks at the end, sitting on the back of a vintage convertible with her new husband, the smile never left our daughter's face.
Our ceremony was lovely - the flowers were over the top - and the music filled the chapel in such a glorious manner! Their sound tech is amazing, and worked so well with all the musicians, vocalists and the band. Carey, the wedding coordinator, and Karen, the site manager, were present and visible throughout the night. From the first meeting to the last load placed in our car, Gina was there to give a warm hug! Suzanne, the owner, is very involved and is a pleasure to work with. Her passion is evident in every part of the process. It was an absolute pleasure for my husband, daughter, son-in-law and me to work with Old Glory Ranch!

As owner of a classic limousine company (Austin Classic Limo) which caters primarily to wedding events, I have had the privilege of serving clients at Old Glory Ranch on several occasions. Honestly, if I were planning my own wedding, I know the exact venue I would choose for my celebration. you guessed it. Old Glory Ranch. Nestled back in the oak trees on what has to be one of the most scenic and romantic roads in the Hill Country, the venue just exudes romance and serenity. Superbly manicured grounds, a beautiful chapel and celebration hall, and an attentive staff, all in the finest Hill Country tradition, it's no wonder that Old Glory Ranch is one of the most popular wedding destinations in the county!

Miniature Donkeys carrying adult beverages? I think I've seen it all now. I had the distinct honor of attending a wedding reception at Old Glory Ranch and it's the first time, ever, that I grabbed an information card so I wouldn't have trouble remembering the place. Awesome venue, great staff and if you decide to go with them, spring for the donkeys! :
