For stays i always feel the room should be soundproof, all lights from different places in room should not be there (like TV indicator, coffee machine indicator etc), airy room (openable windows), noiseless AC. I need not mention cleanliness. The Michelangelo We checked in after a long trip from Austin to New York and then from JFK to Hotel, we were tired and thirsty, when we reached the room we did not have any water in the room!

We asked the front desk to send water which they initially refused and when i agreed to pay then they sent it! Their services were all down, no room service, no in room dining, no mini fridge, no coffee machine, no water! Then later when we were preparing to sleep we switched on the AC and suddenly felt we were in a factory! It was so noisy! The bed and mattress was comfortable, bathrooms were very nice.

Hotel as such is a old property but well maintained. They might have just re opened to give them a benefit of doubt as painting was going on in the corridor outside our room! Basically they should not have started taking bookings before becoming full service. Located near Times Square hence a good location. Finally next day i was able to speak to the manager, he offered to not charge for one night.

But who is to make these guys understand that we did not come to New York as tourist to get one night refund from them and what about rest of the nights? the air conditioner was still noisy, we still could not sleep, due to which we could not do all the things which we planned as we used to be tired in the day! Just by offering refund does not compensate for the bad experience we go through.

Great place. For breakfast eat in the lobby. Great coffee and fresh breakfast. Ask for Jimmy as he guides meal suggestions and entertains. He even helps mentor others and literally runs to your table. Great rooms. Near everything. Great room cleaning folks. Door man is helpful.

EXTRAORDINARY experience! Impeccable service; from EVERY door/bellman to front desk staff to housekeeping. Professional and personable. Well appointed rooms. Beds so comfortable, I didn't want to leave the room () and PERFECT location. The front desk were even kind enough to jokingly banter with me about my love for Tom Brady. They even promised me Tom would be waiting for me on my return to the hotel after a day of activities.

That didn't happen, but I can't blame the extraordinary front desk staff. Caesar and Theodore (?) were so very kind. I had a wonderful hotel experience and WILL return because of the staff!

Overall, nice hotel. Very large, clean rooms. Staff are very friendly and helpful. The hotel is looking a bit rough in some areas. Carpets are worn and stained in certain areas, and the furniture is starting to show some wear. Also, the bed is extremely hard. I didn't sleep well at all. These items keep the hotel from meeting up to its luxury status. With that said, I enjoyed my stay.

I am very fussy about my hotels when traveling, so giving this hotel a 5 for its service and ambiance means it is pretty special. Everyone from the bellman, front desk and the servers in the restaurant were so cordial and accommodating. The place is pretty unique with its antique velvet, silk and ornate furnishings. I love the breakfast room and the waiters.

Food was excellent and I met some very interesting guests. It is a great location and its uniqueness was very appealing to me. I certainly would recommend this hotel and will return on my next visit to NYC! Thank you for such a pleasant stay. It was the highlight of our trip!

Stayed here from Thursday to Sunday. Was able to upgrade my room upon checking in. Despite the hotel being in a loud and busy area, once we were inside our room, we couldn't hear any of the noise from outside, which made it great for sleeping. The hotel room itself was clean and we felt safe being in there. As the hotel itself is quite old, I feel that parts of the rooms could be updated a bit. Other than that, we greatly enjoyed our stay and would consider going back if ever in NYC.

Extraordinary experience! Very good service, always helpful and attentive, rooms are huge considering you're in New York! Maybe twice than other hotels with the same price range. Decor is warm and elegant. Breakfast is tasty and you will love the calm of the restaurant compared with the craziness of the city! Hopefully they finish soon with the covid restrictions, to recover room service, extended restaurant service and in-room bar.

I stayed at the Michelangelo Hotel last week for 3 nights, and it was easily the best hotel experience I've ever had. It's in a great location with the subway nearby. The doormen are quick to greet you, open doors, handle luggage, and even hailing cabs. They will even store your luggage if you arrive prior to check in time. Thankfully they were able to accommodate an early check in for my stay.

The front desk staff was very welcoming and professional. The room was incredibly spacious and clean, especially in NYC. The king bed and pillows were both super comfortable. The bathroom had a large vanity and a huge tub. Even upon checking out, the doorman helped us with getting luggage into our cab. I can't recommend the Michelangelo enough. I'll definitely be back on my next trip to NYC!

Love this hotel and its location. Walking distance to theaters, St. Patrick's Cathedral and Times Square. If you don't want to stay smack in the middle of times square with continuous crowds and noise, the Michelangelo is a perfect place. Great to see the hotels are bouncing back in New York, please note though that they only have breakfast available.

They do not have lunch or dinner nor is there lounge open for cocktails. They will get there. Just like with everywhere else, they are suffering from staff shortage but they hope to be at 100% very soon. Not that this should deter you, there are plenty of places steps away for lunch, dinner and cocktails. I mean, this is New York City! Take advantage of booking directly online, the rates are great and when you arrive there may be opportunity for upgrades.

My husband and I were able to stay in the grand suite for $75 extra a night, we would never be able to have afforded that room pre-pandemic. I love this hotel and will be back soon! The only reason I did not give it five stars is that the room did not have any type of a view which is probably why all the curtains were drawn in the room when we entered. However, the room was the size of an apartment and if anyone has stayed in hotel rooms in New York typically the size of a shoebox, this was a treat in itself so I could forgo not having the view.

Great location. Very clean. Comfortable bed. Professional friendly staff. TV didn't work; but who cares? I can watch TV at home. Lots of attention to detail. A great lodging experience.
