PLEASE READ! After they read my bad review below, they went back into my credit card account, WITHOUT MY PERMISSION, and deducted the $115 that they credited to my account earlier! I never authorized anyone to do this. And no one at the store ever notified me of such. I noticed the transaction, because I review my credit card statement every month.
Someone was supposed to call me back to discuss why someone went back into my credit card account, without my authorization, and of course, no one has. I will Never shop here again. Customer service was horrible. Management is even worse. My daughters dress ripped two minutes after she put it on. The alterations were expensive! $100 right off the bat to hem the bottom, and $15 for a bustle.
They did not hem it correctly, it was too long and my daughter was tripping all night. The bustle ripped right off after I sent It back for more reinforcements and it still ripped after 2 minutes! I had to use several safety pins, all of which ripped out as well. My daughter was miserable at her senior prom! Horrible to deal with after her dress ripped.
A waste of $600 when all was said and done. Giving them 1 star only because a 0 is not available! They were absolutely horrible to deal with! They wouldn't give me upper managements number to deal with. The lady I spoke with was asking me my opinion on how to alter heavy beaded dresses. That's not my job, it's yours. I want A refund for making my daughters senior prom miserable and they refused. "They can't do that".

I was looking for a dress for my daughter, who is 14, our first time dress shopping. We had already went to Macys and Davids bridal and a boutique. Found nothing so we knew it was gonna be tough at this store also! This experience was interesting. I'm pregnant and was lugging around these dresses while everyone around me was being helped. The first one we found in the color and size we needed for the event was literally ripping at the seams and straps!
When I told them, they said that any seamstress can easily fix it! I'll take $15 off a $400 dress. Wow! No words We were extremely limited in color and size and even style, so I'm sure this had alot to do with that. This was for a catholic school function, so there were only a few appropriate cut, color and in her size. The second one we found was piling and damaged as well. Finally, the 3rd was the only one not damaged, so out of despiration we decided to put a 3rd one on hold, for $25 for 24 hrs (even though she didn't like it) Then went to Nordstrom and found a much better quality dress for under $200. Not even sure what to think about this experience!

I went here a while back to look at formal dresses for a college performance and was very disappointed with my experience. I walked in and began browsing options when a lady approached me and immediately asked why I wanted a dress. I told her I was looking for a dress for my college formal and her response was "That's strange - I've never heard of a college formal." The way she responded almost felt like she didn't believe me.
I mentioned I was interested in ball gowns and she told me they didn't have many. My boyfriend and I proceeded to keep looking. I ended up finding one I really liked so I took it to the dressing room. A few minutes later the same lady came into the dressing room and started knocking on the door while I was changing into the dress. She was clearly irritated and kept insisting she help me because I wouldn't know how to tie the back.
I was really bothered by that because it was awkward and relatively presumptuous. She then proceeded to let me know that I wasn't allowed to try on the dress because I didn't have an appointment. I had been there before with my mom for my high school formal/prom and had never made an appointment, so I found this a little surprising, not to mention there wasn't a single customer in the store at the time.
I told her that I was sorry and that I didn't realize I needed an appointment. When I came out of the dressing room, she proceeded to let me know that I wasn't allowed to take any pictures in the dress unless I was buying the dress that day (even though I wasn't taking any pictures). I was then asked if I was buying the dress (she was still irritated and quite rude).
I was a little taken back by that, so I just said I would need to think about it. I was so offended by the entire experience and of course, I didn't buy a dress. Absolutely fell in love with my prom dress. I got it in November, had it altered a few months later and was told it would take a month. Almost two months later I had to call to see if it was finally ready. It was and when I tried it on they quite literally took scissors and just cut my dress. They didn't stitch it back up they didn't even try to cover up how bad they altered it. Prom night comes and my dress pretty much fell apart in me.
My 600$ Sherri Hill dress was losing it's beads and sparkles ALL NIGHT. It was my senior year prom. Formals XO is by far the best location to shop for a prom dress and here is. In the past week, we have visited 11 different stores/boutiques in Pennsylvania and New Jersey including a castle style location in Jersey looking for the perfect prom dress for our daughter. None have come even close to Formals XO in both available selections, style and staff.
Many other locations didn't even have the size we were looking for which was a size 0. This location actually had name brand styles and a large selection to choose from in the size and style we were searching. It was the first time my daughter actually had several choices of dresses she liked which was great. Pricing for the dresses we were looking started at $450 up to $650 - and that's without the alterations.
The good news is the dress actually represents the price in style and in quality. We drove one hour and thirty minutes to reach this location and it was well worth it. We found out that there was a closer location in Langhorne Pa, which they transferred the dress for us so that we can purchase and get it altered at the Langhorne site. That's another plus of XO is they have their own seamstress.
We noticed all other store we visited did not, but had recommendation of people who could alter the dress. Alteration for the dress can range from and additional $100-$200. If you are looking for a wow prom dress I highly recommend visiting either Formals XO locations.

I'm only reviewing this so others know how to proceed. My daughter and I had an appointment. By the way, appointment making was not even relevant as we stood in line with everyone else. We found THE prom dress. It wasn't the right size but the 1 lady who was actually attempting to help us said she would check the back. They didn't have her size there either and couldn't get it in before prom.
I would have bought the one she had on, right then and there and had it altered, but after they saw they couldn't get her size in, noone else spoke to us. Like at all! I understand the store is busy. I also know it's prom season but why did we make an appointment? Wasn't the point to be helped and buy a dress there? I wrote down the designer and model and style number, came home and ordered from someone else.

I went into the store with my best friend extremely excited to be shopping for my prom dress. we walked around a bit and picked out a dress that I was absolutely in love with. the woman working in the store then proceeded to come over in a very rude tone and tell me that without a parent I wasn't allowed to try on a dress, I then asked if my friend (18) could be considered an adult and sit with me while I try on my dress. she proceeded to take a cruel and judgmental tone with me. i left with a sad feeling and sour taste in my mouth. prom shopping should be fun and exciting, but due to poor customer service it made me feel the opposite. I won't be retuning to xo formals.

I went in there with my aunt last week, and we had to make an appointment which was no big deal. I went in there and the lady at the desk treated me like a child and was ignoring me while I was talking to her, but was asking questions to my aunt about her kids? I asked about a dress I liked and she demanded I give her a budget first. After I told her I didn't have one, I just wanted to try on dresses for prom to see if I liked any of them, and if I did, I would consult my parents about it.
She took that as I wanted to just try them on for fun and she kept asking over and over again if I was just in the store to try dresses on for fun. I had to get a budget from my parents, and after I told her my budget she rudely said "that's not gonna happen" and took me to 2 dresses that looked cheaply made. I did not like how I was being treated and definitely did not like how I was spoken to.
We waited at the front desk for 10 minutes after they made us make an appointment and they looked at us multiple times. Will never go back there. Horrible service, rude employees, and overpriced!

Great place for prom dresses and evening gowns. People were very friendly and managed the crowds very well, since it was prom season. You can walk-in but it seems you could save a lot of time by having an appointment. Large variety in stock. Saw sizes from 00 to maybe 22W. Would definitely go again.

Had an appointment but upon arrival was told to pick out five dresses and get in line. They did let the appointments have dressing rooms first but the store was extremely crowded and no one even asked to help us at first. When I went to get more dresses for my daughter to try on the one employee rudely told me you can only have five in the room and then made me feel stupid by questioning what I had picked out.
She was like what is she looking for? Um, I'm not exactly sure that's why we are trying stuff on! The lady that seemed in charge loudly let it be known that she was getting backed up. I don't know why they even bother with appointments if you are going to feel so rushed and ignored. We ended up leaving without a dress.

Weird business model. We had an appointment but they were so mobbed on a Sunday that you still waited in line for 30 to 40 minutes. I'm not sure what the point of an appointment was. They had 8 dressing rooms and at least 4 times that in customers needing a dressing room. The gowns are difficult to access and smashed on racks inside plastic. There is no way to really see what they have.
I have never had a worse time trying to shop a rack. It's like a bargain basement shop but without the low prices. Do not go there unless you know what looks good on you and if you can make quick decisions. Just an odd, not very friendly, rushed shopping experience.

Stressful and unpleasant shopping experience. Gowns are all packaged in plastic and shoved in racks. The employees are working very hard and trying to accommodate the crowds even though we had an appointment. Meanwhile there is a very rude, condescending man, who I assume is a manager, barking orders and snapping at customers. Incredibly disappointed!

We showed up with no appointment and were very lucky. The owner was incredibly nice, insightful and helpful. Our hardest decision was which dress to pick. My daughter left with a gorgeous dress and super excited. I would highly recommend making an appointment and visiting formals xo. We will be back next prom.

Thank God this is my last Prom dress shop! 2 daughters and last senior prom. XO Formals has a ton of dresses that you get to pay top dollar ie $400-750 for that EVERYONE has tried one. They have rips, wrinkles, and frayed straps galore! Then if you have a kid like mine-she will pick out 13 dresses MUCH to the annoyance of the manager in charge. Do yourself a favor don't take a picture of any tags of the dresses you like or you will regret it! Lol.
Also while you are waiting for an hour plus for your child don't be on YOUR own phone with the child's GRANDMOTHER Sitting next to you with her also on her phone-or you may be accused of texting each other. Why? I have no idea! Unreal. Finally last but not least the manager literally tried to argue with my daughter that a dress she wanted to try on was going to be too small for her.
Way to throw down the gauntlet lady! She was totally wrong. The dress was actually a bit too big. Oh and don't send your daughters in alone. They won't be treated like they would be if mom were with them. Happy to never ever set foot in this store ever again!

Never used a prom dress and was never altered. Due to COVID 19 I'm not having a prom. Called to see my options as far as returning my dress but was rudely told "we aren't doing returns sorry" right off the bat. I feel bad for greedy businesses like this that have nothing better to offer than poor service and no remorse in times like these.

Due to the pandemic I would like to know the option I have available when it comes to a refund because my daughter is in public school and I have no need for her prom dress because all public school are closed and prom ate called off as a consumer what option to.this company have for me as far as a refund

Today I was looking for a second dress for my prom since this year I'm attending two proms at two different schools. I also brought my friend with me so she could see the selection of dresses and let me just say how rude one of the workers was (older lady). I asked if I could try on a dress and she yelled "she's not buying one" to the lady trying to assist me across the room because I had showed her my first dress that I already bought, but that wasn't it.

Recently, I had gone here to look for a prom dress but ultimately ended up walking out with nothing. But that's not the problem. It seemed like there was a wide selection of dresses but no one to help you find a dress, try it on or pick out another dress. Out of the five dresses I tried on, four of them had holes, pulls or tears and these dresses are hundreds of dollars. It was so disorganized it felt like forever21 in there.

Deborah greeted us promptly when entering the store for scheduled appointment. She took the liberty of pre-selecting styles based on information provided at time appointment was scheduled. Deborah was very patient and attentive to the needs of my daughter and I (My daughter is almost 16 and we don't always see eye-to-eye). We settled on a beautiful Rose Gold Sherry Hill gown.
She attempted to order a brand new gown but it was not available in the color of our choice. The gown in the store was damaged and my daughter was unwilling to consider other options. Deborah jumped into action and contacted store owner to see how they could accommodate us. After numerous calls and texts, Deborah provided a significant discount. The discount freed up money for alterations and repairs. Thank you Deborah for going above and beyond to make my daughters Sweet 16 great!

I can't begin to say enough about the assistance I received from Natalie yesterday. She was working alone in the store with one other customer there who she was helping, but still found the time to ask if I needed any help. She juggled both of us nicely. Then the store got busy and two other customers came in. I was amazed at how professionally and pleasantly she dealt with four women trying on gowns, and one was particularly difficult (who had her parents and brothers with her). Kudos to Natalie for being one of the best salespersons I have encountered in a very long time!

I ordered a dress from them online. It said 5-7 busness day shipping, and when it finally shipped out almost a month later, it was delivered to the wrong house. They tried to pin the blame on me by saying they delivered it to the address i provided, but I had the email confirmation with my correct address. Always rude and condescending staff get worse and worse each and every time. Just moments ago I was told that I was not allowed past the first half of the store - the store in which I was shopping for a dress with my girlfriend - and told that I needed to leave. Out of respect for the other girls trying on dresses, that is. So I couldn't view my girlfriend in her dress and compliment her simply out of respect for the other girls? Funny. Honestly ruined my interest in spending money here. If you're a man or if you don't like being treated like a poor, criminal, ugly douchebag, don't ever shop or even browse here.
