Didn't really feel welcomed. Was in town for a cabin trip and stopped in for dinner. The restaurant wasn't packed at all. Upon entering and waiting for someone to greet us we were asked by the hostess if we had reservations. I said no and she says well I'll have to see then immediately said no sorry we're full. We turn around and I guess it was the manager but she was shaking her head no behind us. Won't be returning.

The food and service was excellent with a very pleasant atmosphere. It was a great experience and they even sung happy birthday to my wife. Will definitely go back when we are in the area again.

Such a unique place to find. Off the crowded path, but still close to Helen and Cleveland. Our food and service were excellent. Oh, don't forget the drinks. Indoor and outdoor seating. Big parking. Go while you can.

I wanted a nice, swanky dinner with my husband for our anniversary. While Bernies provided just that, nice linens- real silverware - fancy menus - that was it. Overall, we weren't wowed. The food was okayyy going in, but about an hour or so later abdominal cramps and upset stomach made up the rest of our night. We had onion soup, stuffed portobello, steak and sea bass. We think it was the steak.

Excellent by far the best filet I've ever had, staff was great. Cocktails amazing and Bernie the owner was a kindred spirt I was so overwhelmed to meet, the whole evening was a joy, definitely recommended in the highest regard.

We had high expectations because all the recommendations. Service was lovely. The house has character but the food was just mediocre. Expected more from a restaurant that has been around for 30 years.

My husband and I had a delightful, delicious celebration dinner tonight. Service, wine were great, and meal delicious. My disappointment is that I ordered the duck entree and was served 2 leg quarters.no breast meat. For the price, I was stunned. I had really looked forward to it after ordering fantastic duck elsewhere several weeks ago, but the leg quarters were perfectly seasoned and cooked. We will come again.

Bernie's well exceeded our expectations! I expected good food and that was all top notch, but the ambiance and wait staff were also top notch! There wasn't a single aspect of our experience that wasn't seen to. The staff were all relaxed and pleasant and it all just made me happy and relaxed the entire time we were there. Some places have to try hard to make a fine experience.not Bernie's. It just flowed. Well done!

We have been dining at Bernie's off and on for a number of years and this was the first time we stayed in one of the guest rooms. It was great fun getting to know the staff (who were wonderful to us). We particularly enjoyed learning Bernie's history and how the team makes the magic happen every day. The breakfasts and dinner was amazing as always. We love Bernie's.

This place is amazing. We showed up without a reservation and were immediately greeted and accommodated. The owner Bernie is a wonderful woman and all of the wait staff were incredible. Instead of dealing with the long lines and traffic of Helen or Cleveland come check this amazing restaurant out and feel like you're at a family meal at home.

Such an amazing and classy family run restaurant of 33 years. It was a true pleasure to meet Miss Bernie and Miss Monda. I will definitely be back. Be sure to make reservations ahead of time.

My boyfriend and I ate lunch here this afternoon. The staff was so lovely and friendly! They are a family owned business with such delicious food and a cute, comfortable atmosphere. There is a beautiful space outside to take pictures and we definitely got some good ones!

Bernie hosted a welcome party and send-off brunch for our wedding weekend and they were both absolutely amazing events! The staff is amazingly kind, the food is delicious, and the yard was a perfect spot for gathering a lot of people. Thank you Bernie for making our weekend unforgettable!

If you want a very friendly owner and staff PLUS an incredible restaurant, you cannot go wrong. We had a wedding rehearsal dinner here in 2013 and returned August of 2021 to stay for 3 nights 4 days. Owner Bernie and her daughter are hands-on in the daily operation and take great pride in their establishment. The staff is incredibly hospitable and caring.

They show care and concern in each detail of their food and service. The food is exceptional, the lodging is quaint & comforting, & the staff are top notch. You feel like you are part of a loving family. This is a must do for any traveler wanting an exceptional experience.

Usually reservations but very friendly staff and owner found a place for us. Romantic ambiance, fireplace, sterling silverware, porcelain. A true Gem off the main road. Delicious food. Memorable experience.

What a wonderful place that we didn't even expect to find. There are restaurants where you as soon as taste food and know it has been prepared by a chef and not a regular kitchen staff. And this is what Bernie's is. Besides delicious food, it offers whimsical atmosphere and charming table settings. Our waitress, Rachel and the rest of the employees were very nice and friendly. There is also a full bar and homemade dessert selection.
