Nestled in the northern Shenandoah Valley, The Barn Bridal and Formal is located in the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia in a renovated barn which dates back to the Civil War period. Customers often think of The Barn Bridal and Formal owner, Arlene Pasco, and her staff as family. Over 50 years of photographs from customer weddings, proms, dances and pageants fill our overflowing scrapbooks.
The Barn Bridal and Formal offers a large selection of bridal gowns, from traditional ball gowns and vintage lace dresses to contemporary mermaid and fit-n-flare gowns. We offer a range of sizes from 2 to 30W, and many of our designers now offer custom changes including length to avoid costly alteration charges.

The Barn Bridal and Formal has Mother's Dresses to suit any taste or type of wedding. From formal floor-length gowns with ornate beading and embellishments, to short dresses, and even contemporary pantsuits in a wide array of colors. Sizes range from 0 to 30. Discounts are available for bridal party members if the bride purchased her gown at The Barn Bridal and Formal.

The Barn Bridal is a real gem! I had tried on gowns at about half a dozen bridal stores with no luck. Coming off of COVID, I suspect many stores were trying to offload stock that did not sell during 2020, so my options were limited. I was looking for either satin or lace in a classic silhouette. I was pretty open to a variety of styles so I was surprised at how difficult it was to find something without a plunging neckline!
I stumbled across this place purely on accident: I have a friend nearby and my mom was in the area, so we just Googled bridal stores and stopped here after lunch. The Barn was the first time I felt that the sales team understood what I was looking for and did not try to talk me into a style I explicitly said I did not like. I liked that I had the ability to select the dresses I wanted to try on myself.
I never felt pressured to purchase a gown at any point, and they even let me try on a "Meghan Markle" style gown just for fun! The girls were also very respectful of my budget. The gown I selected was just what I was looking for and the highest quality fabric I had seen within my price range (it was a Rebecca Ingram dress). I also purchased my veil there since the lace trim was so similar to the trim on my gown!
A note: At least at the time I purchased my dress, the store did not offer in-house alterations (at least for bridal). This was perfect in my case, since I live in a different state and I already had a seamstress lined up! All in all, I could not be happier with my dress or where I found it. The shopping experience will always be a happy memory for me, I have loved working with the staff, and I felt completely myself in it on the big day. Highly recommend!

We went to look for a prom dress for my daughter and and had to wait for over 30 minutes before we got helped. Then we got to try a few. And pick one out so I put a down payment and the dress stayed at the store, never left the store. And was not able to finish making the payment on it. and was told due to covid if prom is canceled there would be no refunds.
So I lose my $260 Dollars. So thankful we went somewhere else and got a better dress for a lot least money. And when I called to get my money back was hung up on. And was told that I was rude. We will never go back!

After my fiasco of David's bridal ordering the wrong wedding gown, I went to The Barn to see if they had anything I could get in time for my September wedding. Hope was AMAZING with helping me find the right dress! She was so kind and helpful on directing me with a style dress I wanted! I will always recommend everyone to come to The Barn for formal attire!

Arlene and her staff are absolutely amazing! We had SO much fun spending a couple hours with them picking out my perfect dress. Honestly I am so picky I thought for sure I wouldn't find something on the first visit. Literally every dress they put me in was gorgeous! I had trouble narrowing it down because I loved them all so much! The process was completely stress free, they didn't pressure or rush us either. The price for the dress was very fair and I couldn't be more excited to wear it! Thank you ladies so much!
