Can't recommend this place enough. Professional, accommodating, competitive prices, high quality work. Each time I go they advise and consult on how best to make my pieces shine so it's a collaborative effort to produce the best result. They truly care about the customer. They also take great, professional headshots and great post-production editing work to make your headshot flawless.

I had a digital print converted to a 16" x 20" wrapped canvas for my boyfriend's birthday, and it came out absolutely perfect. Other stores I had spoken to estimated that their shops could have it done in 2-3 weeks - I emailed John on a Saturday and it was ready by the following Thursday (for a much more reasonable price than what the other shops quoted me). John is also extremely responsive via email; the only time I had to come into the store in person was when I picked it up. Everything was arranged painlessly online. Thank you so much!

I emailed John with my photos after hours on Sunday, and picked them up on Monday! They look beautiful, thanks to his tasteful edits. He also cropped them perfectly for the frames we already had. Next time, I'm buying the frames from him, though. Nice to have such a quality specialist nearby.

My wife and I have been living in Winthrop for our whole lives and only recently found Beacon when trying to frame our wedding guest board. John was awesome and let us put it in a temp frame he had for the wedding so people could sign it, and he transferred it to a permanent frame for us after the wedding. We have brought several other pictures/paintings since then to get framed and the work and customer service is always great.

My experience with Beacon Photography was always wonderful. John Munson always handled my orders and was extremely professional and prompt. They did such a great job on the order of mugs I placed. We worked with Beacon Photography for our wedding two years ago and can't say anough good things. John was so wonderful to interact with and exceeded all of our expectations for pictures in terms of quantity and quality. John had me send him pictures beforehand that I had found on pinterest and he took the time out to make sure we had each one. Some of them were very creative and time consuming and he still went out of his way to make sure they happened.

All of our guests commented on how nice and accomodating he was at the wedding and one even described him as a monkey because he was up on top of chairs several times during the night to get the best pictures possible.

Real rating is 4.5, only because I haven't directly used John's services. While I haven't been a customer, I've seen examples of Beacon Photography's services and have a sense of the kind of business John runs. I know that John's done work for local high-profile personalities, as well as a variety of others for a range of occasions. He seems to bring a naturalness to his photography, capturing the image as it might be viewed through the eye of a guest at a party or friend at the scene vs. being staged.

In addition, he provides educational workshops (or had when I last checked) and informational opportunities for those interested in photography and related. Extra value and care from someone who has a love for his/her craft.
