I found out about Hostess Helper from a friend who has used them several times. Claire got back to me quickly, and was able to draw up a contract for my graduation party in a timely manner. I hired two hostess helpers for a gathering that included about 30 people. I hired a caterer for the food which I had delivered to my home. Pam and Nancy arrived right on time, dressed professionally, and got right to work.

They reviewed everything with me an hour before people were arriving. I was able to thoroughly enjoy myself the entire time and didn't have to worry about my guests, the food, or cleanup, as the hostesses managed everything perfectly. I paid extra (nominal fee) to have them assist with serving alcohol (beer & wine) and non alcoholic beverages.

I didn't require a bartender. They were very professional and several of my guests commented on how great they were and expressed interest in using them as well. I found the experience very pleasant from start to finish, and would highly recommend them. I also feel the price is very reasonable for what you get.

Ask for Sam! We'll never have a party without her! Very professional, arrived early and lovely to work with - she was instrumental to the night's success. Sam beautifully laid out appetizers, decorated the cheeses and seamlessly managed all the guests contributions, made the tables gorgeous and kept everything flowing smoothly. A night pool party with a band and a couple hundred glow necklaces but at the end, all we had to do was turn the lights out.

We had friends, family, and clients at our event - Hostess Helper delivered exceptional service and enabled us to really be present with our guests at our own event. Priceless. Thank you!

We have used HH for the last 6 years for bartending services only. Our overall experience is positive: rates are fair, bartenders have always been punctual and dressed appropriately, and the overall experience and ease or securing a person was simple and uncomplicated. I do offer a few observations: if you have sophisticated drinkers at your event, you will need an experienced bartender - request this.

About every other year, we get a 20-something who only knows how to pour wine and open bottles of beer. We have also had the 1-2 people who are a little more nosy then they need to be - I'm ok with my bartender being friendly and talkative to my guests; I'm not cool with them poking around the house or helping themselves to food without asking.

I called Hostess Helpers the morning of my cocktail party to ask if they could possibly provide a server and bartender for the event. Amazingly, they were able to accommodate me. They sent two fabulous ladies who were clearly well experienced and able to step in and take over. They cooked, served and did an amazing job of cleaning up. I was able to enjoy my party and my guests without having to worry about the food and drinks. Hostess Helpers saved the day for me. My husband and I can't say enough wonderful things about Hostess Helper! I hired them to help out at our boathouse wedding in August, 2013, and they helped make our wedding reception an absolute success! We had a very DIY wedding. We rented the space and took care all the details on our own. I contacted Ellen at HH several months in advance of my wedding, and she offered great advice and assistance several times along the way as I planned our reception. Ellen took note of every one of my requested details, and on our wedding day, thanks to 3 helpers, each detail was taken care of exactly how we'd hoped. Ellen always got back to me right away, was very professional, and even advised (due solely to insurance issues required by my venue), that I use a bartender other than hers to save myself some money (thus I hired 3 instead of 4 helpers).

On our wedding day, we had 3 professional and friendly Hostess Helpers. They set up the dining area and reception area. They set up the tables, placed tablecloths and centerpieces, helped set up and serve the appetizers (nachos, salsa, guac) and dinner (we had a taco bar / buffet that was set up on 9 chafing dishes), cut and plated my wedding cake, cleaned up, and took care of countless other small details in between.

By hiring Hostess Helpers and having food delivered, we saved a LOT of money compared to the cost of hiring a catering company for our 80 guests. I'd recommend this to anyone! HH was helpful and professional, and I didn't have to worry or direct a thing! Our wedding day ran smoother than I ever anticipated. We wouldn't have changed a thing!

We used Hostess Helpers on 5/5/2012 to help with a 40th birthday party I threw for my husband. Not only were the two people we hired (one server, one bartender) helpful and courteous, but Annarita, the bar tender totally SAVED THE DAY. The restaurant we had cater the party (no connection to Hostess Helpers) called me the DAY BEFORE the party to tell me they would no longer be able to deliver the food and I would have to pick it up myself (believ me, there will be a lengthy review on that place)! Now, I had booked the catering a full month before the party, and this restaurant is a half hour away from my house, AND I was hosting dinner for 30 people! Needless to say, I was freaking out.

In a moment of panic, I called Annarita, who was scheduled to be our bar tender and timidly asked her if she could possibly pick up the food for us. She totally stepped up and got the food here at the perfect time, then stood outside bartending in 50 degree weather with a smile on her face. Our server was Jo and she was great as well. I went over a rough idea of what I needed her to do when she arrived, and then she totally took charge. Serving and cleaning, as she went. I will definitely use them again, and will ask for Annarita and Jo, in particular.

I have a friend who recommended this company to me for a Christmas party I was having. Unfortunately, I didn't have a good experience with the company like she did. I should have known better when the person I spoke with to coordinate the event was standoffish and rude. She was very judgmental about what I was or wasn't doing at my party. "you won't be serving tea!?!", for example. Dealing with her completely took the fun out of planning my party.

I considered not hiring the company, but was in a pinch and really needed some help. So, I signed up to have 2 helpers (a waitress and a bartender) for my Christmas party. The woman who was the bartender was actually very professional and was a huge help during the event. But the woman who was the waitress could not have been worse. She had a major attitude, was judgmental of me and what I was serving.

Then she didn't do the 2 main jobs I asked her to do during the party, which was to take people's coats and to walk around offering appetizers to the guests. Instead she stood in the kitchen for most of the night adjusting appetizers on trays. So, I ended up taking ALL the coats for the entire night. very frustrating. And I was too busy doing her job to enjoy socializing with my guests.

The bartender, as I mentioned, was helpful, which is the only reason I've given this company 2 stars. I guess it always depends on who you get when you sign up for help. But I had a really bad experience with 2 out of 3 people from this company, so I won't be using them again!

I recently had my graduation party and everything went smoothly because we hired Hostess Helper to help with the event. We had Liz and Karen come over and handle setting up the bar, appetizers, food, and the general clean up. I provided them with some instructions on how I wanted this to be set up while I was actually graduating. I came home from the graduation to find the backyard tables beautifully set up with a bar and a table for the appetizers.

They were on top of things before the food came, like serving people drinks and refilling anything that needed to be taken care of. Once our BBQ came we gave them a brief run down on transferring the food to serving bowls and the general set up. Right as they were going to get up the food outside they it started to pour for an afternoon shower. Within a min we had it all sorted out and they were clearing off our indoor tables and setting up there.

Their care and flexibility is amazing. The staff from Hostess Helper were on their game and so much. They made the party run smoothly, which is exactly what we were looking for since my main goal to was relax and have fun with family and friends. Even after they left their impact was felt since we had minimal clean up to attend. They took care of the big stuff in the kitchen, loading the dishwasher, and washing the wine glasses by hand. Fantastic service!
