I really wanted to give a better rating, but I was very disappointed with mike as my wedding DJ. First, I re-scheduled my wedding twice and changed my venue. I told him of this change via text on May 20th. He texted me three weeks before the wedding date, and said that he had another obligation that day because he "didn't know of my date change". Thankfully, he was able to come DJ my wedding as he had known about it for 5 months.
On the actual wedding day, the ceremony music went okay. At the reception, he played whatever he wanted to for the first two hours. Songs that were from the 70's that were not even close to my playlist. I had given him a playlist, and I don't know that he actually played my playlist until close to 9 o clock. I had to go several times to ask him to even play my playlist.
He was rude to several of my guests that tried to request a few songs. The DJ is supposed to be fun, and interactive. The DJ is NOT supposed to be rude and uninviting to those that are trying to converse with him. He packed up 10 minutes early, because he said his wife had been sick for an hour in the car. What is 10 more minutes? I really wanted a last dance with my husband, and When I tried to request a song at 10:20 to have the last dance he said "no, I'm leaving".
I'm only getting married once, and wanted to have a FINAL dance with my new husband and he took that from me. Brides, please save yourself the heart ache. It was not what I expected for $1,100. If anything, we should be receiving a partial refund. Nick was the DJ for my sisters wedding, and did a phenomenal job. If Mike did not have nick, he wouldn't have such a great business.

Mike convinced us he was perfect for the job because he'd worked in the venue before and knew how to work in the space. We signed a contract, paid way more than what we had budgeted, and felt secure in our choice. Except he screwed up every single cue. We agonized over a playlist that was never played. The only song he played at the right time was (thank God) the wedding march.
When confronted about it, he made every excuse in the book, even saying that the music files we provided weren't converted right. Tell me, what kind of professional doesn't check this kind of thing ahead of time? He also said that the songs got mixed out of order, which is silly because I labeled and NUMBERED every song on the list. He refused to provide even a partial refund.
Our wedding was basically used as a date night for him and his girlfriend. When we explained that we were going to do a fake exit for photos and we wanted him to play the song for that moment, he refused because it wasn't time for him to leave yet. When it was time, he started packing up before the song ended. Please just save yourself the anxiety and keep looking. He introduced each song with "And they've chosen a song for this, so let's play that." or something along those lines. We still can't get over how unprofessional he was.
