Great Lakes Wedding Gown

Since my fiance and I postponed our wedding back in 2020, my wedding dress has been sitting in its bag in a closet for the past two years. I finally took it out a couple weeks ago to start alterations, only to find that my dress started yellowing. After being told by two other companies that my dress couldn't be restored, Great Lakes Clothing Care took on the task. And they restored my dress to its original color! They got it done in 10 days. Highly recommend them!

I paid $325 for my dress alterations. The seamstress made comments about how the dress I chose was a "silly decision" because it has sleeves and that made alterations more difficult. I was happy with the alterations. until the day of my wedding. The bustle was useless. Every time I sat down it came undone and part of it even broke before I entered my reception.

I had to miss an hour of my reception because a family member had to pin/sew the bustle to get it to stay. I messaged them on their page and the message was read but I got no response. I'm pretty disappointed.

They took such care with my wedding dress and new exactly how to alter my dress so it fit me perfectly and so I will feel the most comfortable on my wedding day. They were very flexible with scheduling times to see me and had my dress done and ready quickly. It was perfect after the first alteration!

Tammie and Sherri have been so helpful with my wedding gowns! I took 2 vintage pieces to them (1 in complete disarray), and the cleaning of both of them have come out so amazing. They are working with me to get the right repairs within my budget and giving me tons of ideas on how to make the disrepair one look as close to the original as possible.

They are knowledgeable and realistic with how things will turn out and are trying all the possible avenues to get it to how I am hoping they will look. So far extremely pleased!

I've been working with Tami and her staff with two very delicate, vintage wedding dresses that I had hoped to repair and wear for my wedding. One was my mother's dress and it was so dirty and had issues that i thought were beyond repair. But Tami and her crew turned that notion on it's head! They've been super friendly and warm and now, thanks to their wonderful work, I will be able to wear both dresses! I highly recommend this business, not only do they do great work, but they're so helpful and care about what they're doing!

My daughter had to change her wedding plans to accommodate the Covid season. Tami had a great special and cleaned the dress in preparation for the next event in a few months. Then she will finish up the process! She is great to work with and did a fantastic job! (She preserved my oldest daughter's dress 5 years ago and did that beautifully too!)
