Activities at Whispering Firs include hot tubbing, woodland hiking, trout fishing and swimming in our private lakes, canoeing, volleyball, bocce ball, and mini-golf style croquet.We are conveniently located in Mt Vernon WA, an hour north of Seattle and an hour south of the Canadian border and near the entrance to the North Cascade Mountain Pass and well as the ferries to the San Juan Islands, right in the heart of the Skagit and the annual Tulip Festival.

Whispering Firs, operated by Linda and Vic Benson has been operating since 1986. Located in the heart of the Skagit Valley in Mount Vernon, we are close to scenic attractions and areas to explore such as the tulip fields, North Cascades, historic LaConner, and more. Our goal is to provide guests with genuine hospitality and a wonderful place to stay, whether on vacation, a business trip, or a weekend getaway. Whispering Firs B&B is a great small family run b&b. Breakfast is provided every morning and the best apple pie I ever tasted is made from scratch here. It is so serene on the mountain and the view is superb. Lots of things to do on the mountain - fishing, hiking, hot tub, and volleyball. My favorite is the green moss under my feet - nature's carpet and just looking all around at the endless beauty. There is also a plethora of things to do in the valley or surrounding area. Too many activities to pack them all into 1 trip.

My wife and I chose Whispering Firs for our wedding venue and could not have been happier. Vic and Linda went above and beyond to make it a magical day. The food was fabulous and the service was excellent. The venue is beautiful. Anyone considering a wedding in the area should definitely consider Whispering Firs. You won't be disappointed!

Excellent service. We didnt get in till 4 am but our room was ready and so comfortable. The following night we stayed up and chatted with the owners. They were friendly and had many stories to tell. Being here was like being at a home not an experience I can say you will ever get at a hotel or motel. The breakfast was fantastic. Would recommend this to everyone. The view from our room was breathtaking and they have a hot tub as well as a massage chair. A little piece of heaven here.

I cannot describe how beautiful and wonderful this place is, nor compliment the hostess enough but I will try! My husband and I had our wedding here; ceremony on the lawn, reception on the porch. The yard is large and lush, with many areas excellent for photographs. A huge porch covered with beautiful planters of blooming flowers overlooks a scenic view around the back of the house.
The hostess Linda was lovely to work with. Upon our first meeting she was prepared with a small presentation showing previous weddings that she had hosted there, complete with plenty of photos to showcase the space when it was all gussied-up. Linda's many experiences with hosting weddings are apparent in her supreme calmness, thoughtfulness and well-preparedness.
As I was a bride somewhat unprepared and unaware of the task that lay before me, Linda helped to guide me towards priorities and frame a timeline. She was able to meet with us a few times before the wedding to help us work out details and make sure everyone was happy. The venue was very affordable especially compared to places in the Whatcom County area.
Furthermore Linda offers catering for weddings, which we opted for, which simplified things immensely. On the wedding day itself, Linda and her staff were very pleasant, professional and attentive to details. The day went very smoothly. The food was AMAZING. It was very flavorful and cooked just right. We had salmon and even my mom, who does not like salmon, went back for seconds.
We got so many compliments on the venue. The whole atmosphere was just perfect. I am so happy that we were able to be married here, and I am so grateful for Linda and everything she did to make sure our special day went off without a hitch. If you are looking for a beautiful outdoor venue in the area, I highly recommend Whispering Firs B&B Lodge.
