Services
I was fortunate in my very early days to have worked for one of the finest bridal salons in the country where I grew up. I learned the importance and joy of working with brides and the true meaning of customer service. After careers as a CPA and an attorney I couldn't shake my love for the bridal industry.

I had such a wonderful experience at Laura's Couture Collection. Laura was so personable and helpful in finding a dress. She pays great attention to detail and what the bride wants. I felt an instant connection with Laura and her shop, we felt right at home. There are so many amazing dresses and accessories to choose from and she knows just how to pair the right accessories with the dress you're looking for.

Even after going to another place to try on dresses, the dress Laura helped me pick to match my vision is all I thought about. The great care Laura took of myself and my daughter's stood out as well. She definitely sets the bar high for a well rounded experience in dress shopping. I can't wait to go back and try on and purchase my dream dress!

My mother, sister, and future SIL had the best experience with Laura at Laura's Couture Collection! It was my first time in, and walking in it was gorgeous, clean, and welcoming. Laura immediately asked us if we wanted anything to drink while we waited to get started. Next, she got to know my family and remembered details from when I spoke with her about my wedding.

Very personable. I was able to describe what I was looking for and the first dress she gave me to try on, was the dress I ended up picking! Laura is very good at what she does and is so SWEET! She makes you feel beautiful and calm. I will recommend her to all my friends and family! Shopping locally is just a different experience, and always worth it! The quality of these dresses, just can't be beat. Run don't walk!

Laura's Couture is the PERFECT place to find your dream dress. I had the best experience dress shopping with my friends and family. Laura is very knowledgable, professional and most-of-all. KIND. Skip the chain dress stores and go see Laura, you won't be disappointed!

Laura is amazing and the shop is very cute. She has a lot of great dresses to choose from. I found one I was in love with, but it just wasn't "it". The sample sizes here are very small. We were served mimosas while I tried on gowns, and her husband was very accommodating. One thing I don't like is how you aren't allowed to take any photos here. Overall it was a great experience for my first round of trying on dresses. I know so many brides will find the one here!

This is a fabulous place to find your wedding dress. The personal service is so different than when you visit a chaotic warehouse type venue. It's easy to find a dress that is one of a kind. I recommend Laura's Couture without reservations.

I had recently moved to Kansas City Area and was looking on the knot when I came across Laura's boutique. I made an appointment and quickly got in to try on dresses. I was not familiar with the wedding dress process and this being the second boutique I tried dresses at i quickly realized they bring dresses to you based on your preferences. I was luckily able to find my dress at Laura's.

I was on a strict budget and laura did her best to find a dress right at my budget. This truly was a one stop shop for me. I was able to get my shoes, veil, earrings, invites and tuxedos. Laura's husband was wonderful and Mary who does the alterations was amazing! I was very clear to Laura I had a budget and intended on sticking to it. She went above and beyond to accommodate my needs.

Laura knew exactly which dress I would pick before I tried it on. She called me, said "I think I have the one, " and sure enough that was it! She knows what she is doing. I also appreciated the excited phone calls from her every time the dress came in/when it was time for a fitting. I got a little attached to Laura and her staff; they shared my joy and excitement though the whole process!

We had a wonderful experience with Laura and her staff. From the moment we walked in the door, we felt special! Laura found the most perfect dress for my daughter; she knew exactly what she wanted in a wedding gown. From picking out a dress to taking care of the tuxes, Laura was attentive, friendly, and always ready to help. Highly recommend!

I could not have asked for a better experience. Everything went smoothly from start to finish. My dress is the most beautiful wedding dress that I have ever seen! Most importantly I feel special and beautiful which Laura and her team made possible.

I gotta say, I do not understand these reviews. Kansas City is my home town, so I'm allowed to say, it lacks high-end designers. Don't get me wrong, you won't be finding any Berta's, Dror's, or Lahav's here, but you'll find the best designers our little KC has to offer. My first time, I had a great experience but didn't find "thee one". However, I emailed her a few months later and asked if I could try again, and without reminding her of who I was or what I was looking for, she remembered me and my love of lace and had "thee one" waiting for me upon my arrival for my second visit.

She gave me a great deal for buying a dress from a trunk show and the actual sample, a double-discount. She also offers to keep your dress for you until you are ready for alterations, which is my next step. Hopefully that goes as smoothly as everything else so far! *This is not the place to go if you are trying to pay anything under a few grand for a dress, I say that because of the negative reviews about the brides who were trying to shop here on a budget, this isn't that place. Try David's Bridal. jk! Not really.

Don't waste your time if you have a budget or over a size 12.they didn't even offer to let me try a dress on.said I should come back for the trunk show.super weird situation too.they made us walk from one building to another and when I said I wanted to keep the dress at $1000 or less I got an eye roll and was told its my wedding day if I'm going to overspend on anything it should be the dress.umm yeah.thanks but no thanks!

My mother had found Laura's when looking in Bridal Magazine. It had been named one of the "Top 50" bridal salons in the country. Lucky for us, it was right in our backyard. I called Laura's to schedule an appointment. I told her my budget for a dress and that I would be bringing a few people along with. We arrived 5 min early and couldn't find anyone.

There had been two Salons, Laura's and the Boutique or something along that lines. We entered the Boutique, called out but no one came. We proceeded to Laura's, called and a woman stepped out looking flustered. I informed her that I had made an appointment and that we were a little early but ready to try on dresses. Laura's was nicely lit, had carpet and chairs for people to sit.

However we were not in that section, we were back at the Boutique. The Boutique was not nicely lit and did not have any chairs for people to sit. The woman told us her name was Laura (the owner) and proceeded to tell me this was the destination dress area. All of us looked at each other, what does she mean by destination dresses? Her husband came out but she quickly hurried him away and started to make small talk while we waited for the woman who was to help me with the fitting.

Finally after she kept saying destination dresses I informed her that I was not having a destination wedding, it was right up the road in Desoto. She then asked if we were all from Desoto after I had handed her paperwork saying that I lived in Shawnee and was with my soon to be mother in-law from out of town. I had pulled some ideas from Bridal Magazines and showed them to Laura, she looked and saw them then proceeded to tell me to pick out a dress myself from the racks.

I didn't know where to start, I didn't know the prices, I had never done this before. She pulled out chairs from the back after I insisted people be able to sit, they said normally people don't bring a group to try on dresses. After I awkwardly pointed out a few dresses that looked nice the woman who was to help me with my fitting finally showed up and was extremely grumpy.

We asked why we couldn't try on dresses in Laura's and they wouldn't give us an answer. Finally my soon to be mother in-law asked what the difference was from where we were to Laura's since 1) we weren't having much luck and 2) They were all sitting awkwardly outside a small dressing room. The woman who was helping me said that, those were dresses were 3-5k.

While my budget was indeed less than that, there was some flexibility. I couldn't believe that they would change the experience so drastically. I am not sure how they ended up on the top 50 list other than that they do indeed have some really nice designers. I did find a dress from there and would have bought it had my experience been better and the second place I tried on dresses wasn't so much more friendlier.

I tried so hard to find a dress at the second place (and did) just so that I wouldn't have to go back and deal with them. As someone in Sales, treat your customers right no matter the size of their wallet. Word of mouth goes a long way and there are a lot of other Salons to choose from who go above and beyond.

They don't even deserve one star! I was browsing jewelry stores on Google as I was shopping for my engagement ring. I came across their name and called to ask if they sell engagement rings. I spoke with Marty and he told me he was a gemologist. I told him what I was looking for and my price range. He sounded very excited and said he could find me what I was looking for at a much lower price than a local jewelry store, because he was the distributor.

He called me back a couple days later and said he found a ring and wanted to make sure I was serious and asked if I was looking at other places, I told him I was. I told him I couldn't make any promises, but I was definitely going to be purchasing one way or another and I would be interested in seeing the diamonds (which were over my price range).

In the meantime, I purchased another ring. I called the morning of our appointment and spoke with his wife and told her I bought another ring and wasn't going to make my appointment and apologized. Marty took it upon himself to call my job and complain about me to my superiors, telling them how "horrible" of a person I am. I called and said "I hear you are looking for me"?

He proceeded to go off on me and tell me how I made all these promises that I never made and all he wanted from me was money. I am so glad I did not do business with these people, because if I did, and something went wrong, what kind of treatment would I have received? I also looked at the reviews online and realized how horrible most of them were, and I brought that to his attention and he proceeded to tell me how much his customers "LOVE" him.

I would love to see them out of business! Just an update, I ended up having to file a police report on Marty for harassment. He still continued to harass me and the police had to finally call him and tell him if he called me again he would be arrested. Finally, he stopped! Major issues with that dude!

I can't imagine how rude this place would be in person as they were over the phone. I called to ask a question and was totally offended. To the old queen who answered, step outside your store for a reality check: you work at a "couture" bridal salon in a strip mall on Shawnee Mission Parkway.a bit of an oxymoron, don't you think? You have no allowance to treat people like shit.

To management: poor real estate and terrible customer service is not a solid business plan. Clearly your reviews reflect this! Brides, don't give these assholes your money!

Best advice ever, before you buy a dress at Laura's, do your research! Brides beware, this boutique marks their dresses up high! I will applaud Laura for the undivided attention, but she tried to sell me a dress at the "trunk show" discount. Ha! What a joke! Come to find out she wasn't giving me a discount at all. The dress sells at the original price of 2,300 and she tried to sell it to me for 2,650 at the "sale" price. She lied to me and that is just terrible!

A friend and I stopped by their shop to just look at gowns. We didn't have an appointment, we just stopped to see if they could fit us in. They could have easily turned us away to come back for an appointment, but they greeted us with champagne and open arms! (SO amazing considering David's Bridal tried to talk us out of even setting an appointment because they'd be too busy). Laura and her husband gave us a consultation on the spot.

My friend had a limited budget, so we told them she didn't really want to try on anything much above $1000. They DID NOT bat an eye at the price range! They said they immediately had some dresses in mind for my friend. It felt like shopping with life-long friends, they were so warm and caring, we were having a BLAST! They found my friend an AMAZING couture gown for under $1000.

The person doing alterations is a designer and was completely amazing and talented. They are going to do some custom alterations on the gown so she will have a one-of-a-kind dress. They have set the theme for a fun and amazing wedding experience. We couldn't have been more pleased to go there. My friend is still walking on air from the experience!

Things that were nice: they offered me a glass of ice water on a crazy-hot summer afternoon. Laura welcomed me, then sat down and asked me a bunch of get-to-know-you questions about the wedding date and venue, what I wanted/didn't want in a dress, etc. The shop had some nice accessories, and it had some nice dresses. They're open late on Thursdays so I could go after work and I was the only one in the store. Things that were weird: They keep all the dresses in a back room--you can't go in and see them yourself.

Yes I know that many bridal shops do this, but at Laura's they bring out your dresses one at a time, so that in between dresses you're sitting there in your dressing room mostly naked just. um, waiting around. I got bored of this pretty quickly. Also weird: they didn't even SHOW me the dresses that they brought out for me (like, "have a look at this next one, would you like to try it on?") They just whisked them straight off the hanger and bunched 'em up for me to step into. Weird.

There were definitely some that I would have looked at and said, let's not waste our time with that. And finally: Laura had been helping me for about half an hour when she suddenly passed me off to another salesgirl with no explanation. All of a sudden I was being helped by a person who didn't know what I was looking for. She had to ask all the same questions I'd spent 10 minutes discussing with Laura at the start of my appointment. Waste of time! Overall: the dresses were lovely but the policies bizarre, and the service unimpressive.
