Delivery dates vary from one manufacturer to another. Rule of thumb is 8 to 12 weeks for bridesmaids and mothers dresses and 3 to 6 months for wedding gowns. These dates are never firm, however, as some styles are in stock and can be shipped quickly. Conversely, manufacturers sometimes encounter delays in production.
As a bride, for your wedding day, there will be no such thing as a "simple" fitting or an easy alteration. There is always that extra inch to be taken in on the side or bust seam. Or a slight modification may be desired on the neckline. The delicate lace hem may need to be re-worked until perfect. Or an unexpected weight change may occur, requiring the letting out or taking in of the entire gown. Every bead is secured, every crystal just so, every applique - perfect. Every bustle, planned, sculpted, and secured exactly the way you wish.

I'll never go back to this store again! I've purchased many gowns over the years and this place is the worst! Sales people ignored me when I was looking for a dress for my daughter's wedding last year. This year they were rude and acted as if I were a bother to them for my son's wedding. I have a few friends that regret giving their business as once the sale is made. you don't exist. Dresses are also overpriced. I ended up going to a shop in NJ and was well worth the trip. Dresses were more current in style and extremely well made. They also served champagne!

I wish I could give 0 stars. I was required to purchase an outlandishly expensive bridesmaid dress for a wedding. After the staff themselves took my measurements, the dress arrived extremely large. For my initial alteration appointment, the only change made was to the hem-no effort was made to take anything in. Predictably, the final product was still ill-fitting, and was not ready until the day before the event.
During my second appointment, which had to be urgently scheduled as the event was the next day, I was essentially body shamed by the seamstress as she told me she would try to help me but I would also have to "help myself." I'm not sure what she meant, I can hardly change my body in 24 hours. She repeatedly pointed out how the bust of the dress was was not lining up with my own.
Sorry I've had three children & breastfed for 4 years combined.there seems to be no effort, empathy, or actual decency displayed by the staff to make sure the dresses are well fitted-unless you are a sample size. I heard multiple comments on my body during the whole experience. At the end, the alterations cost almost half what the dress did making the price tag close to $600 for an ill fitting piece. I wish I had read prior reviews so I could have had the foresight to seek alterations elsewhere. Would not recommend.

Worst bridal shop in the Hudson Valley. They do NOT know how to measure properly and the owners are extremely rude and uncooperative when there is a problem that is actually created by them not knowing how to properly measure. My advice would be to go elsewhere. I'm the mother of the bride and we brought them 10 people and were treated extremely unprofessionally. Steer clear of this one for sure!

I cannot say enough about the service we received from Laura and Kathy. From the time we walked in we were greeted with a smile and were shown around to find the perfect dress. When I found it, they made sure that I loved everything about the dress, took my measurements and ordered me the dress. Said it would get here at the end of June, but called me two weeks later and it was in.
I traveled from Albany, NY to go to this dress shop and I was NOT disappointed. I will travel back to them for alterations just because we had such a wonderful experience here. Thank you all so much for making dress shopping such a good experience!

I have a daughter that is a college student in Poughkeepsie NY that is a bridesmaid in her brothers wedding this upcoming summer in Michigan. The bridal shop has been unwilling to help my daughter try on the particular dresses chosen by the bride. It's the only store close that carries the specific designer. I was willing to purchase the dress from their store and have it shipped to Michigan in time for the wedding, however, they were also unwilling to ship the dress to any location other than there store. So disappointing they they couldn't help us out under the circumstances. Now my daughter has to select a dress without trying anything on. Terrible customer service

My experience today at Town Shop was excellent. Upon entering the salon, I was greeted by a very sweet and friendly bridal attendant. I was then assisted by Gretchen, who was very helpful in pulling many dresses for me to try on. Both Gretchen and her co-worker went above and beyond to welcome me and also help me find the perfect dress. Todays visit was a success and I would definitely recommend Town Shop to my family and friends.

** DO NOT GO HERE ** If I could give this place less than a star I would. It deserves nothing. They treated myself and my mother like second class citizens when shopping for a veil. When I went in for my veil appointment (which they told us to schedule) they acted like we were an inconvenience to them and had no idea we had an appointment. A sales a associate named Gretchen (and we will dive deeper into her classlessness) pulled 5 cathedral length veils in their plastic wrap- laid them hap hazzardly on the counter and walked away.
Thinking she was getting us a fitting room we waited 10+ min only to realize she had moved on to a wedding dress sale/ appt (you know where the bigger money was) she never came back. No one helped except a seamstress who did her best to speak to us which we appreciated given her first Language is Spanish (this is not a dig, we genuinely appreciated her) It was only because we asked her to help us that she stepped in.
This place is a joke. It is run down. They take advantage of the fact that they are one of few dress shops in the area. Back to Gretchen- I have worked in retail for many years for high end fashion designers. You treat every customer with respect. I have never in my life been treated as rudely. She needs to find a new profession that doesn't work with the general public.
She has a major attitude problem. She is nasty and speaks to you like you're wasting her time. Gretchen single handedly helped to ruin what should have been a happy memory preparing for my wedding. Unacceptable. So Gretchen if you ever read this- take some constructive criticism: leave customer service.

First appointment was amazing. Once I purchased the dress they could give two shits about me or my feelings. I had second thoughts on the dress and the seamstress literally walked out and went home- not even kidding it was mid tailoring. I expressed I felt that the straps would break and they said they would never. Fast forward to my wedding- it ripped.
I can't even tell you how many times I cried in that store and people did not care one bit. It was the worst experience and Honestly I wish I just went somewhere else. Brides do yourself a favor and do not go here.

I came to Town Shop in 2019 to pick out a wedding dress. My experience was fun and easy and everyone was super helpful and supportive for the entire process. I also had alterations here in the months leading up to the big day and it fit perfectly. I never wanted to take it off. I would recommend this place to anyone shopping for their wedding dress.

I've been to the town shop 3 times, once to try on dresses for my wedding and I told the associate what I wanted and she basically refused to show me any of the styles I was interested in and then when I finally put my foot down on a certain style she brought out a dress wayyyy to small for me( I'm an average size woman, just not a size 2) I couldn't even try on to see if I liked it.
The second time was with a friend for her wedding and again was dismissed on what she wanted to see and we felt the associate was rude and had an attitude the entire time. The last time was for a bridesmaids dress. Since the bride bought her dress there she wanted her girls to go there also. From the moment we walked in the door the associates were rude and unhelpful.
My bride did change her mind a few times on what she had wanted but they were extremely rude to her basically demanding she make a choice that day. It was a lot of pressure and stress on her and the entire bridal party. She would have had plenty of time to go home and think about the options we tried on that day but was unable to do so because of the staff pressuring her.
Last but not least they made all of us order dresses that were WAY too big. One other bridesmaid and I questioned the size they were ordering for us and they were adamant they were correct: fast forward 6 months and none of the bridesmaids dresses fit and now the alterations cost almost as much as the dresses themselves. There are plenty of places that will make you feel good trying on dresses and are willing to help you. This is not one of those places.

This was the only bridal salon that I went to and tried on about 5 dresses when I found the one I fell in love with and ended up buying. I worked with Gretchen and she was pleasant and helpful but I did get incredibly frustrated when trying to get an idea of when my dress would be in. I was told on multiple calls that it would be at the shop in two weeks, two weeks would go by and I would get the same answer.
I was told that I didn't need to worry until I was less than 90 days away from my wedding date; which at the time of that conversation I was under 90 days. I had my alterations done there and the seamstress was the best part of the whole process, she was attentive and she did amazing work even though not much was needed. Overall, I would cautiously recommend them as long as you have plenty of time before your wedding date and are ok with one sided communication.

I bought my Mother's of the Bride dress here. while I was looking I was treated by great customer service I found the Dress I love. So I paid my dress in full and waited for my alterations which I had one appointment was treated great again. But a few more alterations needed to be done. So I picked up dress today. And the customer service was like I bought the dress somewhere else.
They brought my dress to a room to try on with no help from them I waited for them to come zipper me up I thought the seamstress was going to check the 2nd alterations I was told no need for her to see it it looks good. they were busy in the back. so I went back to room took it off and another seamstress said is there a problem I already took it off and I said I thought a seamstress would Check It out, she says to me whats wrong.
I just said it's fine and picked up my dress and left the store. I feel while I was a paying customer they treated me better, once you pay you are not a customer. I just hope Brides on there pick up Day are treated better. I would not RECOMMEND THE TOWNE SHOP. to anyone.

The Townshop was lovely. I found my dream dress and the designer I wanted at this shop. The shop is very hidden and in a strange plaza but it is worth a look. They have a ton of dresses in stock compared to other locations in the Hudson Valley. The seamstresses were very accommodating and kind. I loved the outcome of my dress the day of my wedding. Felt like a princess.

It's been years since I went there last, and I'm shocked they're still in business. My mother went there for a mother of the bride dress and earrings, and I wound up buying my veil there. They screwed up her order twice, and they were beyond rude about it. So rude that my fiance got on the phone and spoke to the owner, who was so awful until my husband explained that he's in the wedding industry.
Then all of a sudden he changed his nasty attitude. My bridesmaid also brought her dress there for alterations, and they put it off until THE DAY OF MY WEDDING. I know many more horror stories, but they're just all around awful. Would never recommend.

I cannot give any stars to this horrible shop. Bought dress for sons wedding in June for event in fall. Couldn't go earlier due to covid! Now in August wedding is cancelled due to covid. Called to get refund or credit since I had paid in full and haven't even received dress. They said no to both. I explained that wedding will be rescheduled at some point but will likely be in summer so dress is too dark and heavy.
Associate was insensitive and remarked that you can still wear it! That is horrible customer service during a worldwide pandemic! How dare this place treat me with such disrespect! My DIL to be and my niece have both recently bought their bridal gowns there. They are now upset and angry that you dismissed me! I intend to let everyone know about this horrible shop so that NOONE goes there to buy again. I am so angry!

They called me Fat. swear on everything. Not only does this place look like it came out of the 70s the woman with blonde hair. who was not my bridal attendant. told me I was too big for a dress. There was a beautiful dress in the front of the store that I asked 3 times to try on. After being ignored I asked again and that's when the woman with the blonde hair said "no, what's the point, your too big and it won't fit you" WTF. who says that? Seriously? ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING!
Do not go here unless you want to be insulted. They will never ever get my business. On top of it. Gary the owner called me back and was speechless. seriously? Hire new staff. maybe make future brides feel beautiful instead of insulting them. Not happy whatsoever

Best dress shop in Poughkeepsie. The service was quick and they were very nice. Listened to what i thought and the color changed of my theme because they were honest with me and said that blue was my color. Thank you Laura Naselow. You were super helpful and I also was able to get my prom dress here

I got my bridal gown, bridesmaids and mother of the bride dresses there. My overall experience was very good. My consultant was very nice and knowledgeable and patient. They altered my dress exquisitely and it looked gorgeous on the day of my wedding. Not to mention my bridesmaids dresses looked absolutely outstanding as well as my mothers dress.

It has been a long journey to find my perfect wedding dress, I have been in so many stores and couldn't find THE ONE. Then a friend of mine recommended this store and said she got her wedding dress there 5 years ago, so I went there and everything started with a great costume service, I went by myself and didn't feel awkward at all because the lady who helped me was really friendly. (I wish I remembered her name).
So I tried several dresses and there I found my dress, the dress I will never regret of getting. It's pretty! IT'S PERFECT! They even gave me a cute bag with a wine to celebrate it.

Worst customer service. Do not shop at this store. Went there today to pick up my daughters altered prom dress. Was told to pick up between 12 and 6. Got there at 330. Dress wasn't ready. Dress wasn't even started on. Very unprofessional to not have dress ready when promised. Owner is full of excuses as to why not ready. I leave because they tell me dress will be ready at 5. Return to store at 500 they say 20 more minutes. Waiting still at 550. Will not be a repeat customer. I wanted to give zero stars but yelp won't let me

DO NOT COME HERE Give you 5 stars so people can read it. SINCE YELP ARE A MAFIA CROOK BUSINESS. Yelp do not put up the no stars or below average stars since the place pays their dose. You don't want my business I don't want it either. Yes the dress I didn't buy from you cuz I got Married in Cali. So even I didn't buy it from you. Preservation the dress is extra business for you. You should earned my business but I'm sorry for you too. I will look for somebody else can take care of my needs

I will never step foot back in Town Shop in Poughkeepsie again. I took Carmen to look for her dress for Brian and Amy's wedding and the first thing we saw was no strollers allowed which was hard because we brought Ava. We put the stroller away respecting the sign and went back in. This store was one of the only stores in the area that held the designer I wanted for my wedding dress.
Immediately Carmen found the dresses I wanted and was pulling them out so I could see them while I held Ava. One of the saleswomen came up to her and asked her if she was getting married. When Carmen stated "No I am already married" the lady started to sternly talk to her that she shouldnt be looking at the wedding dresses and that she should look at the back of the store.
I was speechless. Carmen then nicely said she was looking for her daughter in law. The lady again nastly told us that she should bring her in and make an appointment. Just floored. You could have had my business but you were rude and disgusting. If i could rate this business on Facebook I would too.

I went to Town Shop for my first wedding gown outing. Debbie helped us through our appointment and she was wonderful! A few things that I did not like about the shop: 1. We were rushed. The owner of the bridal shop made her stop working with us to help the next guest. She asked him if she could have one more minute with us to finalize everything and he said "No." right in front of us.
Not a very good way to sell a dress. He made us feel like we weren't worthy of their time and it was embarrassing. 2. No pictures allowed. I understand this is a sales tactic but who can remember what each dress looks like on them? It would have been nice to take some pictures and be able to reflect during decision making, and to also capture some of the experience. 3.
I wasn't told any of the prices or the brands of the dresses. I have no idea if they are in my price range or what the designers are. This was probably because we were being rushed and couldn't have a discussion afterwards. Debbie, the woman who helped me try on my dresses was fantastic. I could tell that she wasn't pleased and wanted to be thorough. I loved the dresses I tried on, but other than that I did not enjoy the experience at this shop.
