This place was good but there was shadowy figures sitting in alot of the seats it was very confusing because if you looked too hard they would disappear but I didn't want to sit down because what if they were still there and I squished one? while I was waiting they would whisper to me to call my ex wife and I really want to but she said if I contact her again she will stop supervised visits with my kids and I don't want that but the figures kept say to call. so confusing. My bacon egg and cheese was very tasty and the coffee tasted a little burnt but that's okay.

Saturday breakfast - snow day in Asheville. Counter service- line was inside, which was short, as it was super windy & cold outside. City Bakery serves breakfast all day, bread to go, sliced or while loaf. Coffee, coffee, coffee. Bottomless cup of coffee if you want more. See me yes for more details, but wonderful food. Plenty of tables that turned once we got to order. Art work galore. Scones, muffins and pastries if you like a sweet.

The avocado toast on sourdough is out of this world and a HUGE bang for your buck! The garden bagel sandwich (pictured as an open face toast bc thats my favorite way to eat stuff) is my new favorite though; the herb cream cheese tastes like pesto and the everything bagel is baked to perfection! Coffee drinks are also always on point. Highly recommend!

While visiting Asheville, we were looking for a bkfst cafe and thank God my husband found this one on Google. The great reviews were all right. We loved this cute cafe! We ordered the goat cheese sandwich and the avocado toast thinking it was just one toast like in most places. Wow, the avocado toast is actually two huge pieces of their delicious sourdough bread!
It was big enough for the two of us but we had also ordered the goat cheese sandwich. Well, they were both so good that we ate them both! Would 100% return to the City Bakery next time we are in Asheville!

Totally fantastic experience! The layout is logical and the space is immaculate! The music was so appropriate for the morning! I highly recommend the Chai+Charger with oat milk! It will make your day and don't forget all of the delightful homemade bakery goods! I had a chocolate croissant! And the staff is top notch! A jewel of Asheville!

Go here. Delicious! We intended to hit up Biscuit Head yet again, but our Airbnb hosts said this is their favorite and wow - it's a gem. We ordered online the night before and had a quick, easy pickup on a Sunday morning. Ate outside at one of the patio tables and enjoyed every bite of the BEC on scallion cheddar biscuit and the farmhouse sandwich.
They complemented each other nicely; the farmhouse is sweet from the apple butter mustard (!) and the biscuit is 100% pure savory deliciousness. Our only regret was not ordering loaves of bread the night before because when we arrived to pick up our order, they had limited bread options in the bakery. I bought a loaf of Jewish rye and French sandwich bread, though! Can't wait to try them.

Super yummy! This was a last stop in Asheville before my friend and I headed out of town and it was very delicious. We each got an everything bagel. I thought the bagel had a good crunch with a soft, fluffy inside. My friend was smart and asked if they had different flavors of cream cheese and she was able to get a garlic herb cream cheese on there, which she really liked. We would highly recommend a stop at City Bakery!

Easily accessible with tasty breads, pastries, sandwiches and coffees. The goat cheese avocado toast with lime salt and picked onions was tasty happy! Our small group tried multiple selections- the veggie sandwich came with honey mustard and was a bit strong on the horseradish flavor unexpected. Coffee was strong enough. Pastries were good, nothing mind blowing. Staff were friendly.

I had been getting requests for a Mommy/son date for a few days so we chose City Bakery to escape to while his brothers stayed home. We picked peak time to be there because we waited at least 20 minutes in the very long line. Long lines are good things, right? In this case, yes. very much so. My little man and I ordered a loaf of bread (easy sliced pizza for dinner that night) cinnamon roll, a feta spinach croissant and a chocolate croissant with a iced latte.
We found a spot and then moved to the window seat a few minutes later. So pretty to have a nice breakfast while watching the cars go by. The cinnamon rolls are HUGE and my guy ate the. Entire. Thing. Himself! I had just a few bites from him and it was amazing. No wonder he cleaned his plate. My spinach feta croissant was good but would have been better heated up.
I assumed baked good such as those would be heated up automatically - maybe not? Next time I'll be sure to request a bit of a toasting. I didn't finish the chocolate croissant there. A mixture of being full from the Spinach/Feta and not wanting to waste this beautiful baked good while it was cold. So I took it home and ate it the next day, after a good turn in the toaster oven. Just as good the day after. Very good for special treats with my little men.

We buy City Bakery bread whenever we can -- at this or the Biltmore location or at Ingles. We especially like the sliced whole wheat loaf and their French breads. The North Asheville location on Charlotte Street has handy parking beside the bakery, and inside the atmosphere is comfortable. There are two large rooms where you can sit at tables and enjoy coffee, a snack or a light breakfast or lunch (there's wi-fi) or you can take out.
There are also a few stuffed sofas and chairs. The second room in the evening becomes part of the dining room for the Bone and Broth next door. Service is friendly and fairly quick. Prices for baked goods are a bit on the high side, but you are paying for premium quality. On this visit.one of the restrooms (they are both multi-gender) was clean and neat, but the other wasn't -- must have been an accident.

This is my new local obsession. I prefer the Charlotte St. location as it is small and cozy. The staff is quite friendly and accommodating (usually). They have a super fresh menu. The salads are banging! Especially the Stuffed Avocado Salad. Mixed greens, sprouts, Avocado, chicken salad with a jalapeno goat cheese vinaigrette! Yummmmmmm. There are also fresh baked breads.
On Saturday they made a rosemary potato bread that is to die for. SERIOUSLYYYY! Their sourdough sandwich bread is freaking good. And they use no preservatives! Oh, did i mention that they have coffee and espresso? Yum!
