Dance Easy

My fiance and I loved learning from Marlene. She was an amazing teacher and, within a few lessons, she took us from never having danced before to being able to perform a great first dance at our wedding. She helped us enjoy the dancing as well as provided great feedback. Would definitely recommend!

We took group dance lessons with Marleen and then private lessons the month before our wedding. Everyone was very impressed with our dance and kept asking how much time we spent on it. Marleen choreographed the dance for Emme and I knowing what dance moves we'd learned during the group lessons. She understood the limits of what we could learn easily in a month and helped make our first dance special

A first dance is daunting enough when done in an empty room, much more so when surrounded by an audience of your closest friends and loved ones. In preparation for our wedding, my soon to be wife scheduled 6 lessons at Dance Easy. Marlene, in a few short weeks, removed 1 of the 3 left feet between us (of which, 2 were mine). She's an expert dancer, but much more valuable than that, she is an expert communicator.

As both my wife and Marlene may attest, my listening skills are second only to my inability to actualize what was just relayed to me in my own movements. Despite my internal communication challenges, Marlene understands the intention behind a movement and can not only show and but explain (in a way I understand). It's one thing to tell someone to put one foot in front of the other, as I will now do - If you're considering taking a lesson, just pick up the phone and call!

What are you waiting for!? - But it's another thing entirely to explain just why someone should. Marlene is capable of both as only decades of dedicated effort could cultivate. If you've been wanting to learn how to dance, but could never bring yourself to do so, Marlene is the teacher you've been looking for.

We did several lessons with Marlene prior to our wedding. She was SO fun to work with and really made the process so great. She was able to teach us some steps that were at our level (very beginner) and also helped us incorporate some fun moves to make it more our style. We would highly recommend Dance Easy!

Marlene is a wonderful dance instructor. My husband and I started taking dance classes with her shortly after getting engaged. We had no prior experience and she was able to get us comfortable on the dance floor as well as help us create a one of a kind dance routine for our first dance. We have done group classes, private lessons, and Saturday social dances with her and loved them all! We would definitely recommend her!

Super good teacher, very encouraging, really comfortable way to learn. I never thought I would be able to dance, but Marlene managed to teach me anyway, and in very few lessons. I highly recommend!

I took one group and one private lesson with Marlene to prepare for my daughter's wedding reception that took place in August in Portland, OR. That's all I could squeeze in before traveling. While two lessons does not a great dancer make, Marlene's instruction and kind encouragement gave me the confidence to take the dance floor and feel great about myself. My daughter was elated!

My husband & I wanted to take dance lessons as a refresher. We had been taking classes elsewhere for about a year & a half. Marlene was wonderful. She allowed us to come in & practice while helping us with notes of steps we had forgot. Once she knew our wheelhouse she choreographed our wedding dance. It was absolutely perfect & our guests were extremely impressed.

We also invited my in-laws to join. They didn't have any dance experience. Marlene was great with beginners and helped with a dance for my husband & his mom. Her studio space has very nice floors, huge windows & tons of natural light. She even moved chairs to create an exact replica of our dance floor. Doing this really helped us envision the space and calm our nerves. It helped make sure we faced the guests & didn't dance off the floor. We highly recommend Dance easy to anyone, engaged or not!

My wife and I got married on 8-19-17 and instead of a cocktail hour, we thought it would be a fun idea to have a swingdance lesson, since her and I swingdance ourselves and were planning to do a bit at the wedding. We worked with Marlene at DanceEasy who was willing to host our group; while not everyone attended the lesson, dozens of people went and raved about how fun it was!

At least a few people got hooked and have signed up for lessons in their respective hometowns! I cannot speak highly enough of Marlene who brought such energy to the lesson, and who was so pleasant and flexible as my wife and I tried to puzzle through this idea. DanceEasy is a great studio for both beginners and those just wanting to brush up on their footwork!

Marlene was great and made both my wife and me comfortable learning to dance. Neither of us had any experience whatsoever, but by the end of the 3rd 3 hour session we had an entire first dance ready to go for our wedding. It was a fun experience too and we have talked about going back to learn more dances for when we go to other people's weddings in the future!
