Former owner Amy Hans started A Slice of Heaven Cakery out of her home and in 2008 she partnered with Kelcy Scott and they opened their bakery in downtown Lapel. Kelcy became the sole owner in 2014 and has over 15yrs experience decorating cakes. Kelcy will be glad to make a delicious, always fresh, never frozen, cake for your special celebration. We specialize in wedding cakes, all occasion cakes, and of course our signature cakeballs. Other baked goods are available. That will depend on how your cake is served. Buffet style? It is not necessary to have a slice for each guest. Served to each guest? You will want a piece for each person. However other factors may determine how much cake you need which we can go over during your consultation. Any design ideas you have whether it be from one of our cakes, pictures from other websites, or your own sketches.

Slice of Heaven bakery made a Branch the Troll cake for my grandson's third birthday. Not only was the decoration perfect, the cake was absolutely delicious! It was even more delicious, if it's possible, the next day! The cake was moist and flavorful and the frosting smooth delicious and not overly sweet! Just perfect! My only regret is that I live in Chicago and Lapel is a it far! However, I.
Hope that my daughter and son-in-law will get your cakes for every family events. One more thing.we are considered wonderful bakers but we agree we co uldnt have made a better cake and definitely wouldn't do such a perfect Branch!

Awesome customer service and the cake balls were amazing! We called and ordered 48 cake balls in 3 different flavors (almond vanilla, red velvet, and double chocolate fudge) 3 days before our event. She was very accommodating and communicative throughout the process to ensure everything was perfect. The cake balls were the hit of the party and absolutely delicious. We now have a go to bakery!

We ordered a 3 tier cake for our wedding in 2014. Our experience with A Slice of Heaven Cakery was great. We sat down with the owners for a tasting and let them know exactly what we wanted. The cake was delivered to our venue in Indy with no issues and the cake was beautiful and delicious. My husband and I were extremely pleased with it and our guests complimented on the look and taste of the cake as well. I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone.

Really great food, customer service needs improvement. I ordered for two events, a bridal shower and baby shower. For the first event, the cheesecake types were correct. I had asked for the cakes to be cut, but they were not cut. I had to scramble to find utensils to cut them during the party. For the second event, I double checked on the phone to make sure the cakes were cut.
They were not and I received resistance from the person on the phone (Mary, who I now realize is the owner) about opening them back up to cut them. My friend that picked up the cakes told me the person at the counter was very curt with her as well. After the cakes had been picked up, I realized the order was not correct. I called back and was told that they made what was on the ticket.
She told me I could have called earlier to change the order, but at that time I was not aware that the order had been wrote down incorrectly. At this point, I had no evidence that she wrote it down wrong and I was tired of calling. She told me, "Don't worry, they'll eat it." I feel that is not the point. I am frustrated with how I was treated after spending $200 at their bakery.
The food was very good and I received many compliments, but will not order from them again because of the hassle of my experiences. Moral of the story: if you order from this bakery, called to double and triple check your order. I thought calling in once to place the order was sufficient, I was wrong. If you want it cut, double and triple check that, too.

Kelcy was amazing and met all of our needs when it came to our cake! She made it convienent for us to come in and taste the cakes and help us with our design. She made this process as stress free as possible and not to mention the cakes taste so delicious and her prices are affordable! :- Our cake was perfect and a huge hit at our wedding! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
