Watson-Studios - Photographer

I'm not here to blast anyone, but rather to give an accurate portrayal of my experience with Watson Studios as a bride. It's super disappointing that the happiest day of my life was captured with many out of focus, blurry, and grainy images. My wedding was beautiful, but the photos taken by Watson Studios doesn't depict that beauty. The lack of attention to detail in the photos I received was crushing. Flowers were blocking bridesmaid's faces, eyes were closed, people were looking away, there were awkward gaps between people in posed photos, etc.

My gorgeous custom made guest book wasn't even photographed. There were photos we asked to be taken that never were. Dan showed up on wedding day with zero suggestions and a very "aloof" approach. Instead of Dan telling us how to pose and what would look best, I had to ask him, "were you going to get a shot of this?" time and time again. Many of the photos we received would have been better quality if taken on a cellphone.

I was stressed the entire day of the wedding and taken aback by the lack of professionalism, friendliness, and drive that I had presumed Dan would bring with him. I try to be an optimistic person, but out of the 750+ photos I received, there are barely even 75 that I would ever want prints of or to even share with others. My wedding day was wonderful, and I'm so thankful that I at least had a videographer that went above and beyond. Watson Studios, unfortunately, didn't leave me with a good impression.

Having Dan and his lovely wife at our wedding was like having Two more friends there. They are so amazing at what they do. They are not only skilled photographers, but they are so sweet and make you comfortable, which makes it so much easier to get the best shot. They captured the day in such a beautiful way. Everyone looked natural, beautiful, and happy.

My husband Has worked in film for almost 30 years and was super impressed by Dan's eye for composition, light, color, and spontaneity. My husband Casper says with the heat, they were real troopers! (He was Johnny Rico in Starship Troopers and him and Dan both love sci-fi which was fun!) I highly recommend them! If you want flawless photos and beautiful candid moments, there isn't a better option. And they travel for destination weddings.

Watson Studios is not only extremely talented, but also extremely personable and a breeze to work with. From a planner's perspective, everything from the first introduction to our clients, through the process of receiving photos makes our lives easier and stress free. On the wedding day, Dan and Kelly are a stellar team. With expertise and many years of industry experience, this duo is efficient and productive with the tight schedule of a wedding day, while keeping our couples at ease and a smile on their face. Their natural talent is highly sought after and not always easy to find, I would recommend them without hesitation to any of our future clients!

This is SO long overdue since my husband and I got married a year ago, but I am still marveling at the gorgeous photos Watson Studios did of our wedding. Photography was THE most important thing to me regarding wedding planning, and I couldn't be more pleased. Dan got every special moment. He has a special way of grabbing those moments you don't quite realize are happening on the big day, but that warm your heart with forever memories when you see the photos.

The way your groom is gazing at you when you're looking elsewhere, how truly happy you look smiling at your groom, that exact moment you burst into laughter, a tender exchange during the father-daughter dance. Every special moment captured in a very natural, beautiful quality with the perfect light. Other than photos beyond my expectations, Dan is the guy you want on your wedding day. Dan is exceptionally calm with great humor.

He essentially laid out our entire schedule for us, and when we had a bit of a fiasco with the hair dresser taking forever (and ever), he professionally, but firmly spoke with the other vendor to get us back on track. We ended up having to switch the time slot for the girls' photos with the guys' and he improvised without blinking an eye. Dan also delivered our photos quickly and gave us a veteran's discount. For Christmas in the following months, he even sent us an ornament of a framed wedding photo. I highly recommend Watson Studios to any other bride on her big day.

Dan Watson came to Maryland to photograph our wedding and he was absolutely wonderful! I knew after looking at his work online we had to have him and he made the entire process a breeze.

When we first met with Dan Watson of Watson Studios, we shared with him that our candid, fun and loving shots were the most important to us. He did exactly as we asked. He brought his special talent and professional touch to bear on his work. All of our expectations were exceeded. At our "once in a lifetime" event he captured it all including the ice cream cart, the photo booth, the love train, all of our friends and family dancing until the wee hours of the morning.

He perfectly timed the amazing confetti blaster shot showering us at midnight. Each time we look through our photos we relive the happiest day of our lives. Not only did he capture all the smiling and loving faces, but also some beautiful romantic portraits. We interviewed and considered multiple highly recommended photographers. We have no doubt that Dan was the best choice.

Two years later, and I'm still over the moon with my wedding photos and engagement session photos! I knew once I saw his portfolio that I wanted Dan to be our wedding photographer (I love the lightness of his work and his eye for gorgeous moments!) I truly feel like our photos are timeless, and I show them off to anyone and everyone because every important moment and detail was beautifully captured. (In fact, the only downfall is that I like ALL the photos so narrowing them down for an album has been so tough for me!) Dan was super easy to work with and incredibly professional.

I also loved that he was great at posing us naturally; it definitely shows in the photos. I had very high expectations for our photography, and Watson Studios definitely exceeded them! Highly recommend!

The best decision ever! Dan and his crew made our day spectacular. They were able to capture every moment perfectly and didn't miss a single detail. We're so pleased with everything from the engagement session to the wedding day. We also booked the photo blaster and only wish we had had the time to take MORE photos with our guests. Thank you Dan - our wedding day was even better because you and your team were there to capture it all.

Dan shot my wedding as his first. Dan is artistic & that is why he became a photographer. He has been able to mix his artistic ability with weddings. This creates a look that is unique to Dan alone & this I feel sets him apart in the competitive wedding photography world.

Dan was so easy to work with, especially for my husband and I who both tend to be awkward in front of the camera. He has a natural sense of what will look good and guides you to make it happen. I was very impressed that he came all the way to meet us at our venue before our wedding even before we had made any commitment to hire him. Our wedding photos are so beautiful!

Dan was fantastic to work with! He is very positive and so flexible, which really helped reduce my stress on the big day. He photographed both our engagement and our wedding, and the results are fantastic! The photos capture us and those special moments so well.

Dan and Natalie are absolutely amazing! We could not have picked to better photographers! They are super fun and easy to get along with and they take the most amazing pictures. I am not a huge fan of getting my picture taken and they were so great in making me feel comfortable and made the photographs fun! They designed a great guest book with our engagement pictures and even helped us design our save the date magnet! Basically they rock!

My husband and I couldn't be happier with our decision to hire Watson Studios to capture the most memorable day of our lives! Not only were the photos incredible, Natalie and Dan and their team were so personable and caring from the first phone conversation we had with them. Talent, and a professional looking finished product is extremely important when choosing a wedding photographer, but just as important is the quality and personalities of team of people that you are working with on your special day. Natalie and Dan are such nice people, and made us feel comfortable and calm at every one of our wedding events.
