Services
Mark and his staff are great! They really took care of us and all the details to make my son's senior pictures turn out amazing! Mark and his staff are easy to work with and made great suggestions on setting up the perfect shots. True professionals. Thank you Bak Photography! I had a great time, I'm usually camera-shy, but Bak made it a fun experience where I felt comfortable and could warm up.

I went to my scheduled appointment with my granddaughter. It's very cold out that day since it is January and nobody was there. I called three times from the parking lot, the lights were off and the door was locked it was obvious no one was there. So my granddaughter who's 6 years old and his homeschooled was in tears because she wanted her pictures done.
This is on Saturday I called Monday and he played it off like it was me! He said he was there the whole time! I need to tell you he's a liar. Instead of owning it and saying I messed up I made a mistake whatever he blamed it on me. I wouldn't recommend this man to anybody ever!

Mark and team have done both of my daughter's senior photos and several family photos for us and every time they are done professionally, great price and quick turnaround time. Mark even does great with my husband who has dementia and on the day of our family photos was not being very cooperative, but our photos came out beautiful. I call Mark for all of our photos!

We have had to completely cancel our wedding plans with uncertainty things will be rescheduled. I understand we signed a contract, but these times are completely unforeseen and they claim they will "work" with us regarding the large amount of money we already had to put down. Well that is not quite true. It's sad they claim to be a small family company yet that is definitely not how they act, nor carry themselves. I could go on for an hour, but let's just say I would high not recommend them. Sadly, it's not often I leave a poor review.

Bak Photography owner, Mark took some of our office teams' portraits this year and did a great job with our 20+ personnel. We also had him record a few videos then come back and take some additional photos with our shop members. Mark was professional and the quality of his work exceptional. He was very accommodating throughout all of the processes. We highly recommend him as he was a pleasure to work with and the extra bonus is that he is local here in Saline. Thank you Mark!

Fantastic studio with the most talented photographers. They've done our daughters senior pics, her wedding photos, maternity photos & two newborn sessions. Countless family seasons. Endless talent! Pricing is fair and affordable. Office staff is always kind & responsive. I highly reccomend for all your portrait needs!

We haven't gotten our photos back yet, but the experience alone was 5 stars. Since my kids were born, we have done at least one family photo shoot per year. Mark and Scott were by far the most professional and accommodating for children we have ever worked with. They were meticulous about setting up each pose and ensuring every hair was in place. Our session was so successful with my four and two year old boys that we are already planning to rebook for a Fall session. If you have children who are generally uncooperative for photos, Mark and Scott will get great smiles.

Scheduled an appointment for my daughters graduation photos. When we showed up Mark was an hour late then tried to rush everything. He was rude and spent the entire session telling us about what a great photographer he was. The photos were ready 4 weeks after they were promised to us. I would not recommend Bak Photography.

The wedding was spectacular, & nothing can mar that. It was after, when it came time to order pictures, that things fell apart. NOTE:1)If you want me to order from you online, expedite it in a timely manner. 2)Don't make up stories, don't lie. 3)If you don't want a bad review, refer back to #1 & #2. On 7-7, we ordered our pictures. By 7-29, we had not received them, so I emailed Bak. 20 mins. later, Heidi wrote back. Sheer coincidence, they were shipped out today. Great!
The next day, 7-30 at 1, Kelly, the office/studio manager, wrote-"I have reached out to our lab & requested an update on your order. I will provide more information as soon as I hear back from them."?WHAT? I thought it was mailed yesterday! 2 1/2 hours later, another email from Kelly-"The lab asked me to verify your shipping information as the city below is "Pgh." Not positive, but they're thinking that may be the issue. We're still investing on our end, but wanted to be sure the shipping address is correct.
Please confirm. If you have any other questions, please let me know. Otherwise, I'll be in touch as soon as I have a bit more definitive answer." Is it just me? Several things come to mind. WERE they sent out yesterday? Was I lied to? If they had my name, address & phone#, why was nothing done until I wrote if there was a question about "Pgh."? "Pgh.", an issue? "Pgh." has been the accepted abbreviation for Pittsburgh since.forever! Yes, we're from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, not Michigan, but really, you never heard of "Pgh."?
I left the response email for my husband, who needless to say, was as irate & confused as I was. In part he wrote-"The United States Post Office accepts "Pgh." as the standard abbreviation for Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, 1 of the original 13 colonies, something learned by 5th grade. Then there's the zip code, along with the address to ensure it gets here." He also said he was the bride's uncle, & his sister, mother of the bride, would be unhappy to hear of this. 7-31, Kelly wrote back.
It is now the lab's fault. They don't do online orders at the studio. They only get an email that an order was placed, the lab does the rest. "I did not create the shipping label myself, so I must wait for a response from the facility who created the label." UPS is also to blame as they "often assess extra fees or delay shipments if the address provided isn't in their system." Oh, she knows the family well, adores them, particularly his sister. She'll discuss this situation with her as she knows her well. Gee, I wonder what story she told her?
We received the pictures on 7-31 at noon, an hour before her last email? Hmmm, darn UPS! His sister emailed us, wondering what was up as Kelly had already made mention of it to her, & that the 2 would talk more later! I let her know we got them, nothing more. It really shouldn't be her concern or problem, only Bak's. Seriously, how can you not know what's going on within your own company? There was never a sincere apology, only excuses. Heidi knew & did more in 20 mins.! Maybe Heidi should be in charge.

I used Bak Photography for my wedding back in August 2010. I did not receive by wedding album until November 2011. I spent 3 hours in a meeting with Mark to create the book I wanted. When the plan came back from the designer there were more pages that needed corrected than those that were correct. It was a long an arduous process. Also, I was very clear in the planning process that while there were some formal pictures I wanted, I wanted the rest to be more photo journalistic.pictures that people didn't know where being taken.
I did not get very many of these types of pictures at all. Most of the 697 proofs that i received were triplet. There would be one picture taken just slightly different 3 times. I honestly had more like 350 proofs after all the duplicates were removed. I wish that I had went with another photographer. I was so impressed my Mark (who actually did my wedding) at our first meeting that I didn't look any further.
That was my mistake. After the wedding, once I had made my final payment for the extra's on my wedding album, the customer service became very lax.employees stopped returning my calls and the I was not compensated for the extreme delay of my wedding album. Overall, it was a very disappointing experience.
