The Van Benthuysen-Elms Mansion is a beautiful example of Italianate style architecture, providing exquisite grandeur to St. Charles Avenue and the Garden District of New Orleans. The historical Elms Mansion is complemented with period furnishings and surrounded by lovely gardens and patios. The mansion features elegant touches such as an imported mantel of hand-carved marble, ornamental cornices, 24-karat gold sconces, and a 48-foot grand ballroom lined with jeweled windows. We are proud to say that we are the only historic home on "The Avenue" to offer such functions.

I DJed a friend's wedding here. The Mansion is an exquisite slice of old New Orleans history, beautifully adorned with room upon room of olden treasures. In addition, the entire staff there were the nicest people I have ever worked with at a wedding venue. If you want a historic venue with amazing staff for your event, the Elms Mansion is without equal!

I was invited to my friends wedding which she held here at Elms Mansion. I must have driven and biked past this place 100s of times when I lived in NOLA and never noticed. The mansion is absolutely beautiful inside with an amazing court yard on the outside. It is perfect for an out door wedding. *AMIBANCE* What I loved was the amazing courtyard which was relatively COVID safe and large enough to hold 50-100 guests.
It was even big enough to have a small second line with all of the guests. The mansion inside is quite large and as multiple rooms including a very large bar. Each room is very unique with a different color scheme which I loved. All wood and old fashion inside. *THE FOOD* Traditional southern style which I loved. Not sure if the wedding party specifically picked that or if that is what elms mansion offers but I loved it.
There was so much food options from a gumbo, etouffee and Jambalaya table at the entrance. They also had a cheese, appetizer table and a different room with meats and prime rib. So good! *SERVICE* excellent. The bartenders, severs and hosts were all excellent. They were so friendly and the wedding seemed very organized. Overall, if I were going to get married in New Orleans, I would definitely recommend this place. It was such a beautiful wedding with amazing food and excellent staff.

I couldn't imagine getting married anywhere else; everything about the Elms Mansion was PERFECT! The ambiance, the staff, the food, the location, the history, you truly can't beat it! Our guests were in awe all night and my husband and I felt like we were in a dream. Thank you to Jessica at the Elms, who went above and beyond to help us plan (and replan) three different wedding dates due to COVID and hurricane Ida. She puts so much heart into her work, and was so kind and helpful during a very stressful time. We will always love the Elms and the amazing people who work there!

I had my wedding at the Elms in October. Jess was my favorite wedding vendor to work with all year. She went above and beyond to make sure my day was personal, special, and flawless. I completely trusted her to get the job done-- she is reliable and detail-oriented. I truly appreciate the lengths she went to make sure my event was exactly what I wanted including collecting dairy free desserts for some of my guests!
She truly cared how I felt on the big day, which meant a lot to me. The Elms is beautiful, and all of the staff is professional and friendly. Don't hesitate to book your event here!

The Elms Mansion was the perfect venue for my friend's intimate wedding. It is gorgeous inside and out. Event coordinator, Jessica, was phenomenal. She went above and beyond to ensure the day ran smoothly. She is a credit to her profession. Everything from decor to dinner service was excellent. Donald anticipated our every need and obviously enjoyed his job. I can't say enough great things about the Elms!

This mansion is like taking a step back in time. The mansion is beautifully decorated to match its beautiful architecture and craftsmanship. The outdoor patio was incredibly charming and so was the staff. My favorite eats here were the hand carved Turkey, dressing with gravy. The boudin balls and oyster bakes were delicious too.

You know a venue is magical when upon arrival, you start envisioning your wedding there and 1) you're not in a relationship and 2) you have ZERO plans of ever having another wedding again after divorce. Whew! I digress. LOL. But seriously, this place makes you reimagine the fairytale. The service was extraordinary, the food was excellent, the bartenders were amazing, and the band was cool. I highly recommend this place to anyone hosting an event, especially at night, for that "wow" factor.

We came for a wedding photo shoot, and the woman (older light-haired Caucasian) was being very hospitable and admired the bride. She even went as far as calling our staff members to come and look at the bride. But I now understand that it was all a show. As soon as our time was up and our session was over, she was very rude to us. Rushing us out with her newfound nasty attitude, making us "get all of our equipment and stuff" out of her way.
Obviously after our money & time ran out, so did her nice facade. How convenient. And they had the nerve to contact us to use our professional photos on their website. The place itself had a couple of nice areas to take pictures but most of the rooms looked outdated, not vintage. Overall, !wouldn't recommend. We did get some nice shots but the service was ridiculous. I mean the woman went from Dr. Jekyll to Mr. Hide very fast.

Well here's my follow-up regarding my daughter's recent wedding on 2/27/16. All I can say is this place delivered exactly what was agreed upon. We met with Faith the day of rehearsal and it was good to be remembered by her (such a gracious lady) and on the BIG day Judy was everything a mother-of-the-bride could hope for. First, the place was just fabulously decorated and it was super clean (even met my neat freak expectations). Secondly, the wedding ceremony went smooth as silk and lastly, the food was phenomenal especially the salmon and frog legs.
It was my first experience tasting frog legs and boy did they taste exquisite. Thank you Elms Mansion for making my daughter's wedding sheer delightful and your wait staff was greatly appreciated in every respect of the word. Love you guys so much

Beautiful venue. Good food. Attended a wedding here and was pushed off the patio into the pouring rain by Judy after it was all done. while we were waiting for taxis. Judy told us we needed to get off the patio bc our time was up and was extremely rude. Never asked if she could help us call a cab or figure a way to get home. Not a fun way to end the night.

I contacted Elms Mansion to determine availability of their gazebo for a small wedding to include only my husband and I. We were eloping. I spoke to Judy the owner and she was so rude it was unbelievable. She talked about how she had plans to go away for the Thanksgiving holiday and she could not plan a wedding under such short notice. She seemed so angry with the fact that I was simply making an inquiry.
If Elms Mansion is not available, then it is not available but there was no reason to be so rude and abrasive in speaking to me. Judy's attitude was ready bad and unprofessional which is odd given that the Mansion is used for weddings and you would think she would be more sensitive with a softer touch. Needless to say I did not have my wedding there and I was able to find a much nicer venue but if you are considering Elms Mansion, beware.

Beautiful venue for a wedding! I attended my friend's nuptials in February and was really impressed. The wedding took place outdoors, where it was a bit windy at first, but the sun was shining and soon the weather was perfect! I particularly loved the food setup. Instead of a typical buffet, the delicious appetizers were served by wandering servers and at various stations throughout the house. The noise of the trolley was a little annoying at first, but soon you get used to it and hey, this is New Orleans so noise is part of the experience.

I recently attended a wedding here. Really interesting venue in an old mansion. So much interesting random art on the walls -- a carved wooden crucifix! A slightly scandalous Art Nouveau lady! An oil portrait of a man with the largest pocket square ever! Food was darn good, ladies bathroom was tres elegant, and the staff seemed to have everything down really well. My only regret was that the rainy weather kept us from experiencing the beautiful grounds.

I got married at the Elm's Mansion in March 2009. It was amazing and beautiful! The staff there are so sweet and helpful and Faith runs a tight ship. She knows what she is doing and I basically left most everything in her hands. I didn't have a wedding coordinator and frankly, didn't need one! They can help you with everything from flowers to DJ's.
I had people coming from Mississippi, Texas, Arkansas and California and they all raved about the Cajun cuisine! I can't thank them enough for a perfect wedding day. And after looking all over San Francisco and Los Angeles for a place to get married, not only was the Elm's Mansion in New Orleans more special - but was a heck of a deal for a girl on a budget!
