Unprofessional expensive cake. Looked like a 12 ur old decorated it. Unimpressed and WAY too pricey for what I got. Tasted good but looked terrible. The owner seemed as depressed as the cake.

Creative Cakes blew us away! We were all truly amazed at the way Creative Cakes captured the little details that I provided via email, along with a few photos, and created this incredible cake for my Exec's retirement event! From the details of his farm animals to the company's logo on the hat and shirt - fantastic! It was definitely the highlight for my Exec and guests, as well as a sight to see for restaurant staff and customers. Everyone was very impressed and absolutely loved it! Also, the strawberry and chocolate flavors were delicious! I'd highly recommend Creative Cakes!

I visited this place on 6/8/22 to see about ordering cakes for a corporate event for my job. I entered the location and let her know what company I was from and before I could inquire any further she kicked me and my coworker out using profane language and even went as far as snatching her business card out of my hands. I'm not sure what she thought I was there for but it was very unprofessional and insulting. we had a budget of $3000 for deserts so she missed out on a bunch of revenue and return business jumping to conclusions. DO NOT GET ANYTHING FROM HERE!

I was so disappointed with this place. I ordered a round family tree themed cake. I sent them pictures of my vision for the cake and they said no problem. My brother in law picked up the cake and brought it to my dads house. When I opened the box, I thought it was a prank. Please see pics below. Cake on the left is what I wanted. Cake on the right is what I got.

The cake looked like it was done by a second grader. From the tree to the "grass" everything was just sloppy and poorly executed. Some of the writing looked like it was done by a third grader. I wanted little squirrels like the picture and the squirrels they made looked like huge rats. After all that, the cake wasn't even good. Wasn't worth the money at all.

This is the second cake that I've purchased here, and Creative Cakes is definitely my "go to" for special occasions! They can literally do pretty much whatever you want when it comes to cake designs, and they have so many wonderful flavor options. You will be more than pleased with your purchase!

Got my daughters first birthday cake here. It was amazing. I love their classic Vanilla on vanilla and chocolate with vanilla so light and fluffy. Highly recommend their cupcakes.

I have to say the cupcakes I had (strawberry and vanilla with vanilla frosting) were the best I've ever had. The cake part was moist and delicious, and the frosting was soft and perfectly sweet (not overly sweet, and just buttery enough). I don't know what the bad reviews are for, but for me I was very satisfied and will definitely be back there. I didn't buy a cake, however, so I cannot say how the cakes are. They do look beautiful though.

Hired creative cakes to make a cake for my nephews baptism - came out beautifully + was very delicious! I sent them a photo for inspiration and they followed pretty much to the T.

Creative Cakes did a wonderful cake for our daughter's 9th birthday. They were quick to respond and very happy to brainstorm with us on a good design. The cake was more adorable than we could have imagined - they really outdid themselves. We all loved it! Everyone at the party thought it was not only beautiful but delicious. This is a great team - highly recommend and plan to use them again!

I am so happy with my daughters' baptism cake from Creative Cakes. I live in CA and planned an entire baptism to be held in DC where I used to live. I went by reviews and pictures and I am so pleased I chose Creative Cakes. The owner is very professional, I sent her 2-3 pictures of cakes I liked and we talked on the phone. She understood exactly how I wanted the design of the cake and literally made it look like a replica.

Not only was the cake aesthetically beautiful, the cake was moist and tasted delicious. I had several guests commenting how good the cake tasted. I will definitely be recommending Creative Cakes to my friends and family in the DMV and will use them for any future events. Thank you Randi and your team for making our baptism cake perfect!

One of the best strawberry cakes i have ever tasted. I was hosting a bridal shower for my sister and it was a task to find a baker who would meet the expectation. I had a preferred design and shared same with baker, they did promise me they would try to make a similar one but i must say! They were beyond my expectations. Also, i ordered some cup cakes and they were AMAZING! definitely would visit this place again.

This cake was amazing, not only the decoration was perfect that it exceeded my expectations but the taste of the cake was just incredibly delicious. Will definitely order from here again. Thank you all so much for making the cake even better than what I expected.

You made my daughter's Bat Mitzvah cake into more than we could ever have imagined. The taste and quality of everything was amazing. My daughter gave you a crazy drawing and you took it straight to the moon and lit it up! Thank you a 1000 times!

My husband and I had a great experience with Creative Cakes. They were our first cake taste testing and we immediately fell in love with one particular flavor. However, we decided to keep our other appointments. After what felt like one hundred tours around the state we came right back to them because nothing we tasted could top what we had sampled at Creative Cakes.

I'll never forget the attention to details that went into making the cake and how they matched the color scheme. They delivered to our venue on time and without a hitch and 2 years later I still get questions about the cake flavor and who made it.

Creatives Cakes is by far the best custom bakery in the DC, Maryland, and Virginia area. Of all the ones I've visited they have been the nicest and most helpful. From the start of the conversation to trying to help me design a cake.to the end when I go to pick up the cake itself by far is the best experience I've ever had. Everyone there is so helpful and so opinionated.

They really give each client a personal touch to make sure you get exactly what you want. I ordered 3 cakes from them, and each cake has been better than the last. I highly recommend them for your next occasion.

My brother had a custom cake made for our little bro's birthday that resembled his favorite drink: a sidecar. It looked aamaazing! Our little bro does competitive heavy weight lifting so the exterior of the cake resembled a stack of weights. The flavor of the cake was very strong, it had been drenched in Grand Marnier after all. The frosting in between had citrusy essence to it which really complemented the alcohol drenched cake deliciously.

The fondant looked so smooth and soo good and didn't pose any difficulty in a fridge overnight. The physical cake sat on a base which sat on a sheet of flexible styrofoam inside of cardboard box which gave stability while we drove the cake home. My family does a handful of customers cake orders a year for our loved ones and Creative Cake hasn't failed us yet.

My son and his wife had a cake delivered to us for our wedding anniversary. The cake was delivered and left on our porch in the plastic cake container only. Typically when we receive food from restaurants, the items are placed in a bag. The cake container was in contact with the porch which definitely isn't the most sanitary way to deliver food.

The cake itself looked very nice, but the frosting was awful. It was not buttercream frosting. We had to scrape it off because it was greasy like Crisco frosting. We were able to salvage it by scraping off the frosting and re-frosting it with a homemade cream cheese icing and homemade guava filling. To be honest we have had cakes and cupcakes from creative cakes before and the quality is subpar for the price.

We have ordered several custom cakes and have loved them all. During COVID we have done several cake and cupcake curbside pick ups also. They have been very understanding putting in our trunk and are still just a delicious. Will continue ordering from them!

I'm sorry but the one star is simply because they were open during this Coronavirus craziness. The cake was awful to the point of being inedible. I requested a custom cake with a design of a kpop musical group ---a very simple cake & design. First of all it cost an astronomical $105 for a 9 inch cake which is beyond the pale. But that's not even the worst part---the cake itself was absolutely awful.

The outer layer was basically rubber and the cake was worse than anything you'd get at Safeway! While we were there waiting for the cake to be brought out we ordered 4 cupcakes one of which was a red-velvet. Can you believe that the red velvet cupcake did not come with cream cheese frosting? How is this even possible? Just laced with the worst vanilla buttercream frosting you can ever imagine.

The cake was for a 13 yr old "Quaranteen"s birthday. It was bad enough that she had to have her birthday in isolation but the atrocious cake did nothing to perk our flagging spirits. If you want a birthday cake in this "Coronavirus season" just get one from your local supermarket. NO need to pay ridiculous prices for absolute garbage.

When I began wedding cake shopping, I was shocked at the prices. Relatively speaking, although Creative Cake's price were high, compared to other bakeries, it was reasonable. I adored the Calla lily design & it worked well with my wedding colors. I was very impressed with the sequins & was sold on that immediately. Two of the layers were carrot & the middle was German chocolate with the icing as a filling.

They were both quite good. However, I was disappointed that a bakery of this caliber did not use the lighter chocolate for the actual cake rather than ordinary dark chocolate. To me, the lighter chocolate is essential to the German Chocolate Cake. Other than that, I was pleased with the cake & the service. The bakery delivered the cake before I arrived at the wedding venue, so I was quite pleased because that was one less thing to be concerned about on my wedding day. I look forward to eating the top layer on my anniversary!

They did a fantastic job of bringing my fantasy birthday cake to reality! They were able to take a pic of mural that I liked & combine it with a pic of me. I asked for lavender and green for the flowers AND they magically made ivy without knowing how much I would love ivy. Butter rum with strawberries and pineapple. Delish. Trust them. They do great work & are creative.

My better half ordered my 35th bday cake from them and let me tell you! It was delicious. I am typically not a cake fan but this was moist not too sweet but most of all well decorated. I personally have had my share of "bad cakes " and this was the complete opposite. They executed the vision perfectly, and I couldn't be happier. I would definitely recommend. As far as pricing goes idk how they compare, but I will most likely order from them again and will be in a better positions to do so.

I got the most amazing cake for my dads birthday. It's taste as good as it looked. I called two weeks ahead, and spoke to a plea sent young lady that took my order. Payment is taken over the phone and charged right away. I'm the future I would love it if they sent out a recite via email so that their customers know that everything was received and documented.

Beyond! My daughter's Sweet 16 cake came out great! essentially she told them she wanted white, gold, and Zelda with possibly some rupees. There was a worker there who loved Zelda and was on board. They even used the perfect Zelda font! My daughter was is happy! Also, the cake was delicious!

I ordered a cake here for a friend's baby shower and after just crushing a leftover piece, I realized I should write a review. After many days of being overwhelmed by cake designs on Pinterest and other internet environs, I decided on a simple square sheet cake with fondant polka dots with basic filling and buttercream icing. Once I decided (about 3-4 weeks in advance), I called and placed the order and paid for it over the phone - no fuss, no muss. I'll be frank - I'm not a cake connoisseur, so I was really surprised by the cost of a simple design.

At any rate, it looked nice, tasted good and was ready on time. Mission complete. One thing I wish they'd do is send a confirmation or receipt after making an order, or do a reminder call as the date approaches. I didn't have time to call and confirm the order would be ready the day before pickup, so when I arrived to pick it up, all I could do was hope they hadn't forgotten about it. A simple communication to close the loop with customers would probably go a long way.

Great resource for amazing edible artwork. Custom designs, shaped cakes and wedding cakes are their specialties - these are truly one-of-a-kind artisanal cakes made by artists using fondant, sugar, etc. Pricing is very fair - very inexpensive by comparison to other places in DC. They will work with you to come up with a custom design based on your ideas.

I picked up a cake that a friend had ordered for a 30th birthday and it was gorgeous. (See photo of the white & pink cake with cherry blossoms and the silhouetted image of a girl walking her dog.) I've only tasted one cake from here, and it was fine. Not the best cake I've ever had, but you don't purchase a cake like this for the frosting quality - it is a work of art.

If all you're looking for is a typical child's birthday cake you should probably go elsewhere - the price may not be justified for you. But if you want a cake that looks and is actually shaped like a vintage suitcase, complete with travel stickers, come here. They do a monthly cake tasting - I hope to attend one in the future so I can see more of their work and taste more of their products.
