Torrance Bakery: Downtown Torrance

Torrance Bakery made my daughter's cake beautiful! Everyone wanted to know where it came from. The customer service was outstanding too, the lady helped me with colors and had a great attitude! Will DEFINITELY recommend Torrance Bakery!

We couldn't even cut open the cake, it was so mushy and just difficult to slice and it just crumbled everywhere. Not impressed with the quality of the cake I should be able to smoothly cut a slice. Wouldn't recommend. Look at the cake when trying to cut through it.

The first time I visited the treats I purchased were not that fresh. Second time, the male who helped me put my cupcake in a box and didn't have anything to support and it was a mess taking with me. I haven't had the best experience yet. third time hopefully.

Torrance Bakery has been our go-to for many years, and it is always beautiful and delicious! Their cakes are always moist and fresh and beautifully decorated. My fave is their banana cake with fresh banana and custard filling!

My wife found this gem not too long ago. And I am so angry that WE HAVE NOT TRIED THIS PLACE BEFORE! Not only their cupcakes are so adorable and delicious but also their sandwiches are AMAZING! I definitely recommend the sandwich called "Stephanie" (one of photos I uploaded). Perfect combination of everything inside and perfectly grilled bread! Apparently the place is about to be 40 years old in 2024.

So obviously the place is pretty crowded and hard to get a table. But be patient and you can find one! This one family who took the table that we left circled the block 10 times! Oh btw, outside seating is so pretty and comfy. It's also very quiet even when the place is super busy! Workers there are incredibly friendly. Almost family-like! This one guy who was going back and forth of kitchen and curbside delivery was not hesitant to play with my 3 year old son to make his day :) Truly wonderful place, amazing food, and grateful people!

Whenever I order a cake from this bakery, I am always 100% satisfied! They do such a great job, I love it!

My son absolutely loved the cake and the strawberries inside! It's really 4.5 as a rating as there was just too much cream vs cake, but it's a minor issue considering the heartbreak that we had from another store last year. And the 10 looked WAY bigger than we expected!

Revisited this bakery yesterday after 25 years! We originally ordered our wedding cake here almost 30 years ago, and then shortly after moved out of the area due to job. So while back in town strolling the antique fair, it was amazing to revisit. Look like they divided the bakery into 3 different entities- a section specializing in bakery items, wedding cakes, and another section in eats.

We entered the bustling bakery section. Was in heaven eyeing all the delightful desserts. I ordered the coconut macaroon and a match latte with oat milk and pump of hazelnut. Loved the coconut macaroon- sweet, with lots of coconut. Super friendly service. I'll have to come back next time I'm in town!

Friendly staff and amazing food. I always loved stopping by here in the morning for their freshly baked pastries. They have so many varieties and the price is just incredible affordable. It definitely is jewel for the City of Torrance.

"What I ordered vs What I got". They told me that can't do heart shapes so I sent them a reference pic and said "as close to the picture as possible", repeatedly. I feel the job was done poorly (notice the sides) and they didn't pay attention to detail. Not to mention the red velvet cake was dry. nobody finished one slice. I was very disappointed considering they have been in business so long.

Thanks for Yelp and the manager Tami. She was willing to leave an email and to reach out to me for helping my cake order. I can see at least the manager is trying to fix things and being helpful. However, it's still not really a good experience to talk and pay at the bakery. I waited about 10 minutes for the girl to print my order and pay. But at least, I got what my son a birthday cake that he liked on his birthday. And the cake was good!

I have tried to give this place a chance multiple times. (Bakery section) They have messed up my order 3/4 times I've been there. I haven't seen so many untried employees in my life before. And they're ordering system is a pain! They tell u to order here or there and take your money of the other side of the register. So I'd your getting drinks you have to order or one side and then place your order to baker items in the middle and then pay for the bakery items on the other side of the counter.

They have given me straight up burnt cookies and I asked AND PAYED for oat milk. Because I'm lactose and they gave me regular milk twice. HOW?! And some of theyre employees are nice but some are straight up rude! I have never given them a complaint, but if you asks the employees a question, they get soo annoyed. If this wasn't an old people spot no one would go back.

We had the most epic cake for my son's birthday party today and we were all blown away! I chose half&half cake, Bavarian cream and chocolate whipped topping, it was so delicious! Just right amount of sweet! It was moist and absolutely delicious. We've been ordering pastries and cakes from here for years and this place is the best.

Delicious baked goods! We got a lunch here, sandwiches were great! Very fast service! Also we grab some sweets to go! Everything was delicious, like home made! Definitely recommend it!

Torrance Bakery has a lot of pastry, cake and cookie options. I've only had it picked up and delivered to me. For the food: The chocolate fudge chews have good texture and chocolatey flavor. It reminds me of persian almond cookie + brownie edge top. The black and white cookie is too sweet for my taste - sugar cookie + white and chocolate icing (chocolate double-sided). Preference: chocolate fudge chews

Fantastic selection of pastries! Stopped by after a morning bike ride with some friends for donuts and coffee. There was plenty of helpful staff to get the line of customers through quickly. There is some seating outside to enjoy your tasty purchases at.

Ordered a birthday cake last minute here and they were so sweet to make it work for us. We ordered a half sheet and the cake was massive and delicious! We got yellow cake with fudge filling and buttercream frosting. The prices are reasonable and they do a very, very good job. Highly recommend!

I popped in here after Eat at Rudy's and honestly, I should have had breakfast at their cafe/sandwich shop instead. I did take home a few slices of cake and all three were excellent!

I bought a beautiful custom cake for my daughter's birthday. She do not like buttercream frosting. Her coworker had a this exact cake and she love this buttercream cake. It's not too sweet.

How is it possible that everything was so delicious, and practically free! Came on small business Saturday, and they had a special where if you spent over $30 you received $20 off your order - major score! Ordered a few cupcakes, carrot cake, apple turnovers, and donuts. I can't believe how good everything tasted, and that it didn't make be feel awful after. Amazing desserts in Torrances downtown. Highly recommend!

My first time ordering a custom cake and cupcakes for my baby shower. It turn out amazing! My guest love how tasty the marble buttercream with chocolate mousse filling cake and the cupcakes are delicious. Customer service: I did wait for my cake decorations took them for awhile since they are back up with a lot of pre-orders as well. Friendly staff especially julia she offer to help me out carry my order.

One of the best bakery's that I have been to. Excellent service, and by far one of the best selections to choose from. They have pastrys, cakes, coffee, etc. And they did my grandsons birthday cake and cookies with a Cookie Monster theme and it was the best I have ever had. Overall this is an outstanding place, and I look forward to going back. You can enjoy your coffee and whatever you choose outside on their patio. Enjoy you will enjoy!

Headed over here after lunch and I was surprised at the selection! Didn't expect so many yummy-looking pastries at a place that looked a bit unassuming. There's definitely something for everyone here and they may look too sweet but some items are actually not as sweet as you'd imagine. The employees working there were friendly in helping me figure out what to get, offering many recommendations.

The line going in moves quite quickly, even if you get a drink, they'll have it ready before you pay for the pastries. Good thing there's a parking lot in the back too, and even during peak times, it wasn't that difficult to find parking. Will definitely come again if my sweet tooth is raging or if I want to look at some pretty pastries haha.

So I was hoping to take some of this extra holiday pounds off but decided that I'm going to need to have more of the wonderful baked goodies from Torrance Bakery. There's no miss in this shop. Only hits! Especially the ooey gooey chocolate chews cookies. Definitely worth coming out and seeing what they have. And it's like everyone here is so sweet and kind. Anyways wish me luck on my New Years resolution.

I ordered a custom cake and was very pleased with how it turned out. I can't remember the name of the person who helped me, but she was very pleasant and made it easy. It was ready on time when I came to pick up, looked fantastic and tasted great (chocolate cake with whipped cream filling and buttercream on the outside). Would definitely order from them again.

I absolutely adore this place. Lovely bakery with a sandwich shop next door. Everything is delicious. The staff is the most friendly. Cabrillo Focaccia sandwich is my favorite sandwich on Earth! Do yourself a favor and stop by to try it out. This place makes you happy.

Great local bakery that has delicious sweets and next door a Cafe for lunch. Great decorated cookies. Especially fun during election years because they put the candidate's faces on cookies which then gives you an idea how this neighborhood is voting.

We ordered a large cake for 30 people and picked a Frozen picture from online. Wow! The cake was amazing, so pretty I didn't even expect it like that. I was totally blown away as were our guests. Pricey, yes. But worth it? Totally. This was as much art as it was a dessert. The cake fed about 15 kids and 20 adults, and people were raving about how good it tasted.

We used buttercream for the very top as it's needed to put a picture but they also put whipped underneath so it's not so sugary. We custom selected a pineapple filling with a vanilla cake.

I stepped back in time. To the 1980's! Very well kept and clean. The baked goods were very nice! The donuts looked great, but they did not taste as good as they look. The cookies, on the other hand, were better than they looked. The muffins were decent, not as sweet as other places. The strawberry shortcake was probably the most delicious, moist and well balanced.

The chocolate cake was a bit too sweet for me, sorry. Overall, the service was excellent! The counter person was very eager, friendly, generous, and rah-rah hooray! If I am in the area, I would go here for the cookies and strawberry shortcake, but not if I am in a hurry because the wait line outside took about 20 - 30 minutes.
