In the late 2000's, we realized we needed a venue to call our own and set off on our adventure searching around the heart of Richmond. We wanted a setting that was beautifully classic, spacious, and right in one of the most intriguing areas around. In January of 2001, we took The Renaissance as our own with one of Richmond's largest Victorian Ballrooms.
We are a small team of creative, dedicated people who love to plan and host events. Our years of event planning expertise with make sure all of your wedding dreams come true. One of the best things about our team, and we keep hearing it from our clients, is how easy we are to work with! You will never meet a team of more personable people that will immediately have you feeling welcome and comfortable. Our very own 5-star chef who creates all of the gourmet meals that will make your event definitely one to remember.

We are happy to share that our Hors D'oeuvres package prices are typically between $17.00 and $32.00 per person. Fresh Pineapple Slices Marinated in Rum Sauce then Grilled and Served with Whipped Topping. Rolls made to order with Soy & Wasabi~ Client may pick up to four rolls to offer to guests. I cannot say enough good things about The Renaissance. My son was married a week ago and, while Tommy and Jon were guests at the wedding, they graciously allowed us to hold the Rehearsal Dinner and Post-Wedding Brunch there. Ever the professionals. Tommy thought of all of the planning details, while Jon and his staff provided delicious food for both events.
Their staff was warm and helpful. Jon was especially accommodating to work with dietary restrictions. of several guests. I highly recommend The Renaissance for an elegant, worry-free event experience.

My wife and I held our 150 guest wedding ceremony and reception at the beautiful Renaissance in February 20,2022. We had been planing this wedding for a little over a year and could not be any more pleased at how great the process was as well as our wedding day. Tommy and Jon (the owners and Jon is also the head chef), were so welcoming from day one and you could tell they really wanted us to have the wedding of our dreams.
They gave suggestions and even went along with some new fun ideas that we wanted to try. They have the warmest personalities and by the end of this wedding journey we all felt a bit attached to each other LOL! The value of the Renaissance is unmatched-an all inclusive venue with options for upgrades, they even have their own parking lot which is great since it is in downtown Richmond.
The food was superb and so flavorful! The bar and bar attendants were amazing. They have great connections with all sorts of vendors you could want and all of our vendors LOVED working at the Renaissance! Also, they have a wedding coordinator that made sure the weekend went smoothly. We're truly at a loss for words because everything about this venue suited our needs and wants! Impeccable staff, atmosphere, food, location and amenities.
We cannot thank Jon, Tommy, Emmett, and Precious enough for all their hard work and care that they put into our special day! It was a true fairytale thanks to all of them. The best decision you could make in planning your wedding is to go with the Renaissance because you'd immediately knock off so much on your to do list and lessen your stress levels!

The night after my now husband and I got engaged, I was up late researching potential venues in Richmond and quickly narrowed in on The Renaissance and have never wavered since. We got engaged at the beginning of COVID so the planning process was not easy in that respect, but Tommy and Jon went above and beyond to keep us at ease, communicate every option and possibility, and ultimately provide us with the best experience imaginable.
Aside from the stress of wedding planning during COVID, Tommy and Jon also were great with guiding us through normal wedding planning decisions. They were always quick to respond to our emails and calls, which we know from our friends is not always the case with other wedding venues. The "one stop shop" vibe of The Renaissance was IDEAL and I encourage anyone and everyone to go that route with their wedding.
It totally streamlined the planning process for us and made the whole event run so smoothly. We didn't have to worry about finding vendors for catering, alcohol, tables and chairs, linens, lighting, PIPE AND DRAPE (my personal favorite), security, etc. it cannot be overstated how much of a burden is lifted when so many parts of the event are being provided by the venue.
The actual day-of leading up to the wedding ceremony and reception (we did both in the ballroom) was a breeze for me, which was AMAZING. I was able to relax and have fun while getting ready knowing that everything was in good hands at The Renaissance. The ballroom was such a perfect setting for our ceremony (we were able to squeeze all 8 bridesmaids and 8 groomsmen on stage with us, which was not an easy feature to find!) and they flipped it during the cocktail hour for an even more perfect reception setting. Jon's food was delicious from the tasting (so much fun!) to the hors d'oeuvres (specially delivered to the wedding party in the bridal suite by Precious) to the buffet-style dinner. Precious was so sweet and provided top-notch service throughout the whole night.
She made us feel incredibly special as the bride and groom. The full bar was a *hit* with all of the guests and no one wanted the night to end (so we took the party down the street to Bar Solita!), which is exactly the type of experience my husband and I wanted for our wedding reception. The Renaissance was really the perfect wedding venue for us in the end and we sing Tommy, Jon, and Precious' praises to anyone who will listen.

I cannot express enough how amazing The Renaissance was for our wedding (10/30/21). From the moment we met Tommy we were sold! He went above and beyond to meet all of our needs and answer every question quickly and efficiently. He actually provided more detail then I originally thought I needed! He is such a positive person and a breath of fresh air when dealing with all the stress of wedding planning.
Chef Jon is a master at what he does! The food at the tasting was incredible. We were worried about how it would be with a large wedding party, but it was perfection! Our guests raved about how great the food was. Precious and the wait staff made my husband and I feel like we were royalty. Always checking on us throughout the night to see what we needed.
I can gladly say I always had a full glass in my hand. The venue itself is absolutely stunning! Right in the middle of Richmond - it has such a historical and elegant vibe to it. The burgundy and gold colors were the perfect touch for our fall wedding. I HIGHLY recommend The Renaissance. The staff and venue made our day so special and I couldn't have asked for a more perfect day/night!

The banquet staff was really exceptional! Very attentive & efficient. Precious the Banquet leader was helping the bridal party all day and ran a really great plated dinner service in the evening. Every staff member was friendly & helpful. They were constantly cleaning, busing, serving, or making sure everyone's water glasses were filled all night long. The bartenders were also were great! I would recommend this venue to everyone mainly because of the staff.

What a wonderful all inclusive venue! As a Mother of the Bride, from day one(April, 2020) when we visited the venue to the wedding day(June, 2021); we were pleased with everything; of course, we had to reschedule but Tommy, Jon and team were so cooperative. This is a beautiful historic venue with a massive beautiful ballroom that accommodated all our guests for ceremony and reception including a dance floor and stage, parking and security.
There is room for the cocktail party, huge bar and bridal dressing room and groom/groomsmen dressing area. Precious was there for our every need on the wedding day. Food was great; staff was always available for all our many questions; and we had many! Everyone should visit this venue for their wedding. A day we will never forget!

A few weeks before everything shut down, I had the great pleasure of hosting an event at the Renaissance. Tommy was so helpful, and made the entire process smooth and stress-free. He is fantastic with planning and has a knack for creating the exact feel you are going for with your event! The staff is incredibly friendly and the service was amazing.
The chef Jon prepared us a delicious assortment of heavy hors-devours and the most mouth-watering mashed potato bar. All around 5 stars at our event. I can also say they are consistent - I attended a wedding at this venue a few years back and had a similarly lovely experience then as well. Absolutely would recommend!

I attended an event here a few weeks ago and haven't been able to stop thinking about it! Not only was the place even prettier in person, I've seen pictures from their social media before seeing the actual venue, but the staff, food, and everything else about the venue was amazing! I hope to attend more events there in the future! Such an elegant and fun place!

Had my wedding here & am so pleased! Working with the staff was a weight off my shoulders! Extremely professional! The execution of every detail was organized! This venue is incredibly beautiful & elegant! I also received many compliments on the food! Definitely recommend this anyone who was to to ensure a lovely and smooth experience!

The Renaissance was a phenomenal venue for our company's holiday party this year. Our guests had a blast. The layout of the space worked so well for our group, not to mention the atmosphere was a perfect elegance for a holiday party. The chef prepared a delicious and beautiful array of foods for us. The most memorable part of our event was the staff.
From the owners to managers, to the bartenders to the banquet staff - absolutely amazing. They engaged with all of our guests with the friendliest and most hospitable service I've experienced in a very long time. The owners went above and beyond to help us plan a fantastic event, covering details and helping in ways that went beyond the call of duty. Truly grateful. Thank you!

Before I came here for an event last week, I had no idea this place existed. How could this event space have been right under my nose my whole life and I had no clue? They have a moderate sized parking lot in the back. I was happy to see that they had security patrolling the lot through the night (reassuring for young ladies walking back to their cars alone).
They were great about coming in and making announcements when the tow trucks started descending on the lot. Hah! Glad it wasn't me. The event ran as smooth as you could expect. The staff was really friendly and they were busy clearing plates as soon as you put it down. The ballroom and surrounding areas were spotless. I loved how the main ballroom was set up. Then, to have the smaller areas surrounding the ballroom for folks to sit, eat, go to the bar, and mingle.
From an event planner's perspective, the only thing that worries me is the fact that the ballroom is upstairs. When you walk in The Renaissance, the only way to get there is up an elevator or the stairs. I can see some potential bottleneck issues happening there at the very beginning of an event when everyone tends to arrive at the same time. I'm so glad that I went and now I have a new venue to keep in mind when planning events!

First off Tommy, is a complete and total gem. Our wedding planner had told him about my wife and I wanting to get married and he got SO excited about the opportunity to host our wedding at his venue. We were planning for two years and Tommy was on point with all of the details. Second point: We went to them and said this is what we can spend, for this number of people.
He created a menu for us that would work with our budget and everything overall. Third point: The food was AMAZING the uplighting was AMAZING. Fourth point: They allow you to pay monthly payments over time, because it can be costly. I can say our wedding day went by in a flash, but it was beautiful. The venue staff, Tommy and John, just everything was perfection. They made sure we didn't have to deal with anything unpleasant and made sure we were taken care of.

For location to price point you can't beat this place. Management seems to care very little, but again, if you just want to be downtown and not break the bank this place is cool. They occasionally host events on the second floor ballroom, but on the fifth floor you can't hear anyway of it. Just ensure you view the exact room you are going to rent. Some have, shall we say, less privacy.
