The venue is also equipped with two full bars, a kitchen (where we concoct culinary magic) and state-of-the-art sound and lighting - in addition to a large 16-foot screen with rear-facing projector. We're also pleased to be the home of renowned Chef Robert Gaffney. Chef Robert has been opening Wolfgang Puck's restaurants for 10-years, has catered the Governor's ball for the Oscars 4-years in a row and has been lauded as the best Italian Chef in San Diego 6-years in a row. Chef Robert is also one of a handful of chef's that has held a residency at one of the country's 3-Michelin Star Restaurants and is absolutely the nicest most down-to-earth culinary talent we've ever had the pleasure of working with. Spencer joined the Sunset Temple family in 2014, managing event bookings and adding his own personal style to the unique events we're privileged to host. He began working in professional kitchens at the age of 6 alongside his father, a self-trained executive chef. Since then, Spencer has worked in many restaurant and catering kitchens through his career as well as managing banquet service and wait staff. Spencer also served as the General Manager of a popular West Hollywood eatery between 2004 and 2007 before taking a position in healthcare risk management.
Today Spencer has returned to catering and party planning and brings his unique background to the amazing and diverse clientele of Sunset Temple.

Honestly, the most unexpected beautiful location in North Park. The sunset temple has such a wonderful vibe to it and Claire and her crew will make your wedding perfection. Easy to work with and they'll help you make your special day become a reality. As a perfectionist I had some reservations about a few things but after it was all said and done, it was like the things I worried about happened automagically!
The space is beautiful, they provide more than you realize. They will make sure your day is special and all of our guests told us how special this location was. We are booking it for another party/event and can't wait to have another great experience!

I had my wedding reception at Sunset Temple last October, and from our initial phone call to the venue to set up a meeting, my husband and I could feel the staff's warmth and sincerity. During our first meeting we were totally sold; Sold on the vintage feel of the theater itself, sold on the owner, Claire, who could not have been easier to work with or kinder to us, just sold on how we wanted our wedding to be.
All of our guests could not believe that this location even existed right by the coffee shop, it was like a secret, hidden treasure I am so grateful my husband stumbled upon. Both my husband and I make decisions on whom we want to work with based upon a feel we get for them, and Claire presented such a sincere and good natured demeanor that we were ecstatic to have The Sunset Temple family be a part of our wedding day.
The entire staff, Claire, Randy, Todd and Jackie were outstanding. They were friendly, professional and integral at orchestrating one of the biggest days of my life! I had zero worry or concern that it would run smoothly, and it was absolutely perfect. The lighting, decor, everything was absolutely breathtaking. This location is a rare find in San Diego, and the owner and staff are just pure gems.
