East Coast Soul is a dynamic funk, soul, and R&B ensemble based in Boston, MA specializing in weddings, corporate functions, and club gigs all over the Northeast. Members of East Coast Soul blend influences from funk, jazz, R&B, rock, and gospel to transform any celebration into a high-energy dance party of your favorite classic and modern hits.This young group of musicians has extensive musical training, and many of the members have studied at and/or hold faculty positions at top music programs in the Northeast. Individually, members have performed on stage with the likes of Maceo Parker, Ben Folds Five, members of the Edgar Winter band, and many more. Additionally, vocalist Eron Anthony has won several national vocal competitions, showcasing a unique range and style that defines East Coast Soul.
With a passion for music and desire to get the room moving, the band is willing to adapt musically to any occasion. Who We Are: East Coast Soul is a "collective" of full-time, committed, and incredibly talented musicians, organized into a small number of elite ensembles. We also happen to be close friends (yay!). We are very fortunate to have a fixed lineup of permanent musicians in these ensembles that are all indefinitely committed to East Coast Soul.
East Coast Soul's Stax ensemble has set itself apart as a new, gold standard for event entertainment. The Good News: East Coast Soul does in fact work with a permanent line up of elite musicians, all of whom are, essentially, indefinitely committed to East Coast Soul. In asking: "Will our musicians be the same as the ones in your videos", we are proud to share the fact that we have a full time, permanent membership.
Your Vision: We think this is the biggest factor. Essentially, when you envision the band at your wedding, what kind of ensemble are you seeing? Is it bigger, with a bunch of horns and vocalists bouncing around, or is it a little smaller to perhaps align with a tighter venue space, smaller guest list, etc?

"Wow! This band is amazing!" - all of our wedding guests Working with East Coast Soul for our wedding was one of the best choices we made. They set the tone and ambiance from the beginning of the cocktail hour through the reception, totaling 5+ hours of jazzy, funky, and all around amazing live music. If they had live concerts on the weekend, we would go to them as they are that good.
Do your wedding reception a favor, book East Coast Soul and you and your guests will groove, jump, and dance the night away. The dance floor was full the entire night because of them. Not only this, but planning the reception details with their team was a breeze and so well organized. You won't miss a beat with this team and band!

Epic! If I could have changed one thing about my wedding night, I would have begged our venue manager to let them play longer. Soulsville was incredible. SO many compliments. I was able to catch the band members as they were heading to take a quick break and they were so warm, kind and personable as well, which made the experience even better. Top notch! Don't even question it. Hire them!

East Coast Soul did an outstanding job at our wedding - our guests were dancing all night and couldn't stop raving about them. We booked the Soulsville ensemble and loved everything from start to finish! We had them do live music at the ceremony and cocktail hour as well and everything ran so smoothly. One of our guests loved them so much they booked them soon after for a corporate anniversary celebration. We can't thank them enough for making our wedding day so special and memorable.

This is an incredible band. From the beginning of the planning process to the last note of the night, the folks at ECS were everything you could ever want in a wedding band: professional, experienced, talented, flexible, and enthusiastic. People who would never in a million years get up and dance in public were on their feet for hours as a direct result of this band's mastery of their craft.
We got endless compliments on choosing this band throughout the night, and convinced many die-hard DJ fans that there really is no substitute for the energy, charisma, and sheer joy of live music at a wedding. There are not enough words to describe how good East Coast Soul was at our wedding. UNBELIEVABLE. Everyone was on the dance floor all night long. I can't count how many people came up to me asking, "Where did you find this band? They are the best band we've ever seen" Our wedding was truly incredible, in large part to the atmosphere East Coast Soul brought! We are still reliving this night and the songs they played!

Holy cow this band rocks! We found East Coast Soul because they played at my sister's wedding and was a requirement of ours to schedule our wedding around their availability (both times) - and we are glad we did. To that point, they were super helpful and understanding when we needed to move our date at the beginning of the pandemic and they were very communicative to the lead up about our preferences, their needs at the venue, and everything else to pull off a mini-concert in the fields of Vermont seamlessly.
Huge shoutout to Arthur and Sean for all their logistical work! The musicians in Stax are so incredibly talented and so energetic that they had everyone from the little kids to the grandmas up on their feet. Don't snooze on their rendition of "Pony"! Seriously though, for a lot of our guests (and us!) it was the first wedding that many of us had been to in over a year and they freaking brought the party!
They danced their hearts out along with us and created so much energy in the room, we couldn't be more grateful to them - they make us want to have another wedding just so we can party with them again.

East Coast Soul Stax Ensamble was a huge value add to our wedding reception. Art and Sean were available and happy to answer any questions we had during planning. They were clear about the process leading up to the event, as well as upfront about costs. Prior to the event, they were also informative about what their requirements were, all of which were reasonable.
During the event they played as well as we expected and more. They just brought so much energy into the room. Not only are they talented musicians, but they also exce at connecting to the crowd. They really got people off their seats. They are a blast to even just watch. After the party, many people were giving us compliments and asking how we found such a great band. This band is well worth the money and one of the best choices we made for our wedding. 100% recommend!

We loved working with Art and East Coast Soul. They were so on top of everything, were extremely communicative, and were fun to collaborate to make sure we got everything we wanted. On the day of the wedding, from the performances during the ceremony to the fabulous emceeing and full performance during the reception, ECS shined. The dance floor was so fun, and was in large part to the awesome performances of the band. We got so many compliments on their energy and talent as well. Would highly recommend them to friends and family.

THIS IS THE MOST AMAZING BAND, EVER. We felt comfortable hiring them for our wedding based on their glowing reviews but were even more blown away with them on our wedding day. I have never attended a wedding where almost every guest was on the dance floor the entire night. Not to mention, we had a 180 person wedding and the dance floor overflowed so people were dancing elsewhere in the tent because the band was so great.
Art and Sean made the whole process easy and seamless from the beginning and really worked with us to ensure our night was perfect, answering many of our questions and being so flexible when we had to reschedule our wedding due to the pandemic. We had MANY wedding guests reach out to us afterwards saying ECS was the best band they have ever heard and they either wish they had a band like ECS for their wedding or will be hiring ECS for future events. I cannot recommend ECS enough. They made our wedding the most perfect night, ever.

I cannot recommend East Coast Soul enough. From the initial conversation with Art and Sean to the final event (just a few weeks ago), if you live in the New England area and you're not working with East Coast Soul, you're doing it wrong! The band was absolutely the highlight of our wedding. Not a single person was sitting during the dancing portion of the evening and we're still getting daily compliments on their incredible music! Astha BROUGHT THE HOUSE DOWN!

This review is long overdue but we have still been on a high from our wedding day and it is due in large part to East Coast Soul! We got married on October 27 and our guests are still talking about how amazing our band was. In fact, many have or are in the process of booking the band for their upcoming events. Art and Sean were such a pleasure to work with throughout the planning process.
We felt so confident going into our wedding day that the music would be perfect and they delivered everything we hoped for and so much more! Guests were on their feet the entire time. ECS put on the best show! Trust me, book them. You will not regret it!

ECS played at our wedding over Memorial Day and they truly made the entire event. We had the 'Stax Ensemble' and not only are they all exceptional musicians, but their energy and stage presence is extraordinary. They are so good at reading the crowd and basing their set list on how everyone is feeling. They were also so easy to work with to select music for our reception, cocktail hour and ceremony.
This is the first and only band I've seen that had all of our guests, ranging all age groups, out on the floor dancing - including my 92 year old great aunt! We had so many of our guests tell us that ECS was the best wedding band they've ever seen, and we feel so fortunate to have used them! Highly HIGHLY recommend!

Without a doubt THE BEST band we could have found for our wedding. Leading up to our wedding, Art & Sean were communicative, fun to work with, and full of helpful advice. We worked with their pianist for our ceremony, jazz duo during cocktail hour, and 10 piece ensemble for the reception. Their high-quality sound, killer dance moves and vocals, and unwavering energy kept the dance floor packed all night. Our friends & family are still in awe of their performance. Work with ECS and you will be very glad you did!

We had East Coast Soul perform at our wedding this past week. My husband, I, and all of our guests cannot say enough great things about the band. We can't say enough about how amazing ECS was. Our guests were raving about the band and we had so much fun dancing up a storm. With all the stresses of planning a wedding, it was such a relief to know we didn't have to worry about the band showing up and keeping the fun going all night. East Coast Soul played my sister's wedding last weekend (5/9/15) and absolutely nailed it. They had everyone at the reception up and dancing for five straight hours --- and this was a very mixed crowd of people (different ages, countries, etc.). Their energy and enthusiasm was just infectious, and the vocalists (Torrence and Traci) were amazing.
As the Maid of Honor, I dealt with the business side of booking the band and I can honestly say that they were the best and easiest vendor that we dealt with through the entire wedding planning process. Aaron and Sean were completely straight with us and very responsive to our questions and requests. And on top of all of this, their pricing was some of the best we found! East Coast Soul was incredible. The band and management were extremely thorough, professional, and easy to deal with. They were on top of all the details, making things easy for us. Most importantly, they put on an absolutely amazing show. The music and the energy of the band were awesome. Everybody at the wedding was dancing like crazy. I couldn't recommend these guys highly enough. Best wedding band ever.
