Since Chris Leavitt Photography was founded in 1973, I have met with every couple to help plan their wedding day. Yes, I do take wedding photography seriously. These are the images that will bring back your fabulous memories for the rest of your life!Let's set a time to meet and talk about your wedding. Some wedding dates can book full a year or more in advance, so it is important that we get together soon. Weekday, evening and weekend appointments are available, and I will find a time that works for your schedule.

Chris Leavitt has pursued the art of photography since his early school days. The northwest Washington native began his professional career in 1973, and now specializes in portrait and wedding images created on location in the U.S. and Canada.
These images hang in homes around the world, with the Chris Leavitt signature in the corner. The creative process begins long before Chris picks up the camera. Extensive time is dedicated to each client for planning and consultation. All aspects of the portrait session or wedding day are discussed including location, cosmetics, and attire. Colors are chosen to complement the decor of the rooms in which the images will hang.

I was looking for an experienced photographer for my son's senior portrait. My son was comfortable with Chris from the start. Chris was patient and open to suggestions. Looking forward to getting the proofs back in a week or so and will provide an update at that time. I'm expecting to have a difficult time in making choices because I'm sure there will be plenty of excellent shots to choose from. If you want things done right - go see Chris. He knows his stuff.

I'm VERY PLEASED with the formal and semi-formal business photographs Chris took for me. I also appreciated him using his Photoshop skills to make the photos really look flawless! I brought several attire changes from which he chose two. He also used two different backgrounds as my company has very specific requirements for background as well as size.
I felt very comfortable in the studio, which I think also helped the photos turn out well. These are photos I will use for the next several years so the price was extremely reasonable in my opinion. I especially appreciated the numbered photos presented in a binder to review with my family. It was a very difficult selection as so many photos captured different expressions and angles.
The final web and print pictures were delivered on a thumb drive and are backed up by the studio in case I ever lose them or need adjustments made. Nice to have this critical part of my business done and done well!

Chris Leavitt is a liar and a fraud and a sneak. We won a "free" sitting from an auction, but later found him pushy and extraordinarily high-priced when later purchasing photos. He is smooth and warm and very kind in person upon first meeting, and the actual photo session was fun. Yes, fun! But wait until you're ready to buy. The tactics get hard-ball and expensive, and his prices aren't posted on his website. Honestly, we got ripped off and when we came to our senses the next day, he'd already "placed the order and couldn't reverse the process." Many, many weeks later, he still didn't have our order until we literally hounded him.
He also promised we could have the digital file, but then admitted that he never released copyright permissions and gave us a thumbprint version instead. He also promised us free Christmas cards with our photo, which we eventually got, but only because I sent my husband to stand on his doorstep until he walked into the place. AVOID THIS UNETHICAL BUSINESS AND ITS OWNER.

We used Chris Leavitt for our son's senior photos and were very pleased by the results. He did a sitting which included studio shots and shots in downtown Tacoma. They turned out well and were retouched to look even better. The only caveat I would give would be to plan for timing. We ordered our pictures at the end of January and because they are sent to an out of state printer, we only recently received them. However, they are very high quality and we are grateful. Chris also gave us digital copies of pictures because my son attends a small private high school and we needed to submit our own senior photos to the yearbook in a timely manner.

We are very pleased with the work of Chris Leavitt Photography on a series Family Portraits he produced for us this past Fall. Chris was very approachable and prompt in meeting with us, as well as scheduling our photo shoot. He also took the necessary time to do a top quality job. We appreciate his pre-shoot advice & consultation with the result of his efforts yielding superb portraits.

I purchased a certificate at a benefit auction for Mr. Leavitt back in March or 2009. When I contacted him to schedule the sitting for my son he talked me into doing family portraits as well. He seemed nice, professional, knew what he was doing. The photo shoot went well, he had us back to his studio within the week to review the pictures (he strongly encouraged not to bring our son, so babysitting had to be arranged).
He became the pushy salesman, insisting that an 8x10 was an inferior size, he had more lines then the Sunday paper. Even though we did not have the extra money to spend, we ended up spending in the neighborhood of $500.00 for 1 additional 16x20 and 2 8x10's. When we ordered we were told our pictures would be ready in 4 weeks, which surprised me in this day and age, but I was in no real rush. 6 weeks later when no call came I made contact, only to be told "I didn't tell you 4 weeks, I told you 8 weeks" Really?
Come on! 8 weeks came and went without being contacted. At 10 weeks I stopped by and was given a story, which I believe to be a lie, that the pictures arrived and they were not up to his high standards and he sent them back. If this was the case why not just let me know. 2 weeks later I swing by again just to check in, nope, not in yet. When I finally was able to collect my photos, which I had already paid for, he drops the 2 16x20's and creases them! WTH?
So he offered to mount them onto foam core, which would only take a day or two. A week and a half later I stop in to see if they were ready and he breaks into what had to be another lie, telling me that he had to order the black foam core and wait till it came in. I can tell you that black foam core is not hard to come by, Office Depot sells it. The next day it was finally ready.
From the day we took the photo's to the day I collected the acceptable prints was 5 months. I found Chris to be deceitful, and a poor business man. I would not reccomend him to anyone, avoid the headache and high costs and go with someone else.
