I wanted to have afternoon tea for my birthday and most tea places were closed on Mondays. I'm so glad McKennas was opened! Food and Tea were both amazing and they were even able to accommodate my husband who has to eat gluten-free.

Good tea but so many flies in the shop. I took my mom and it became a contest between us and the table next to us who could kill more flies during our meal. Memorable but for the wrong reasons!

Yes, I enjoy everything, tea, soup, salad and all the variety of dessert, fingers sandwich, Good place for a Daughter or Mother day, something to hold out your little baby finger out when you drink your tea, and wear your tea hat too.

McKenna's Tea Cottage is one of a kind and located in Seal Beach off Main St. It is a long-standing establishment and very highly revered by the locals. Megan and Brooke do a great job of catering towards their diverse clientele and ensuring that you enjoy your experience. Over the years McKenna's Tea Cottage has provided a consistent place to celebrate with love ones.

I often go with my mom and/or sisters for a special outing. My favorite choice on the menu is the Lady Hamilton Tea which includes a traditional pot of tea, five assorted tea sandwiches and a scone. They include sugar, milk, jam, and clotted cream with your meal. The most recent time I went the sandwiches included chicken salad, cucumber with cream cheese, turkey wrap, egg salad, and strawberry cream cheese which were all quite tasty.

I love that they provide both caffeinated and decaffeinated teas, my favorite is English Breakfast. All their loose-leaf teas are available for purchase inside their shop. I am happy to continue to support McKenna's Tea Cottage especially throughout this pandemic. I hope that they continue in their success and be able to invest back into the cottage so they can thrive within the Seal Beach community.

- blueberry tea was the special for the day and the aromas alone were enough to make it the top 10 teas I've ever had, but the flavor was also divine. A delightful menu of thoughtful eats to enjoy outside, people watching, in the gorgeous climate. Great service as well! - the finger sandwiches were in the top 10 worst sandwiches I've ever come across but they were well prepared! 7/10

Update! June 20, 2020. Open for DINE-IN. Call ahead for reservations! New photos added. It was a nice afternoon tea with my friend. The establishment has been around for a while. The locals love having tea parties here. There was a party for a little girl with her friends to celebrate her birthday. It was really cute. I really love the decor and displays of tea sets, my weakness. Lol. Anyways, I would definitely return to enjoy another set of tea. If you like this review, please let me know. Thank you and have a great day!

Found this place on Groupon. Made reservations, as it was suggested, and showed up on time. The ambiance is great. Love the layout. We had a pot of tea each. I had the strawberry fruit tea. Pretty good. Although after drinking so much, the tea has a slight metallic taste. Had the salad and if they had used anything but store bought dressing, it would have made a huge, positive, difference.

The finger sandwiches where basic. I mean that there was more bread than substance. And the taste was.meh. Nothing stood out. The scones were biscuits. (Lost a Star here). The dessert was Decent. (Added a star). My opinion: If you choose to come here, before you arrive, go out and have a decent lunch/breakfast first. Skip everything and go straight for the desserts. That's probably the best idea since they hurry you through your meal.

First, great service! And it is a really cute place. However, the tea services are pricey without a Groupon. For $15, we were able to do 2 $20-something services, which for one pot of tea, five finger sandwiches, and one scone each is a bit. However, it is an experience, and something to do if you want to take it slow and relax. But, each person does get a POT of tea, which is about 6 cups. (I would recommend bringing a metal water bottle to take your excess tea home with, and enjoy it chilled :D.) Their "general store" area sells the teas for a very good value ($6.00/ounce), and one ounce fills like an entire bag, and you only need a teaspoon of it to make like 6 cups of tea.
