Having stayed many times we are overall happy. You do, however, need to know what your getting before arrival. This is a very old hotel. Quant only begins to describe it. I will let others describe what I mean there. I did on my most recent trip have a couple issues that are worth mentioning. First, the excessive heat throughout the building. It was uncomfortable warm.
Our room on the third floor was so warm we had to have both windows open all night and even then found it near impossible to sleep. It didn't help that the pillows were like bags of air! The other issue was internet access. In fairness, my wife had no real issue with her internet speed on her iPhone, however I found it crippling slow on my phone, iPad, and laptop.
I was there to work, and for me this was a real problem. This was regardless of where in the hotel I was attempting access. Not our best stay, but still nice enough to go back as these were isolated issues.

Vacationing in New Hampshire. Found out about this restaurant because of their AAA 3 Diamond Rating. It is in the beautiful historic Eagle Mountain House historic hotel. The dishes are noticeably prepared with fresh quality ingredients & masterfully balanced seasoning. Good wine & cocktail selections. Had their home kitchen prepared Maple Bread Pudding, served with Gifford's premium ice cream & fresh whip cream. Staff is friendly & attentive. We can't wait to return & enjoy again.

Our wedding at Eagle Mountain House was absolutely perfect! Linda and Stephania are amazing to work with. They are very responsive and helpful! The day of my wedding they made everything wonderful. They did a gorgeous job setting up and decorating. Although it was raining for the ceremony so it couldn't be at the site I hoped for, it was still so beautiful.
All of the staff at Eagle Mountain House was so friendly and helpful (Lauren the bartender was incredible and patient). The game room was so convenient with the kids attending! We just simply cannot say enough good things!

This place has over 4 stars on google and Expedia and that simply shouldn't be. This hotel was fine. Not good, not great, fine. The room we stayed in was NOT accurately shown on Expedia. Our room looks like it was built in the 60s and never really updated. The walls were PAPER THIN and for some reason there was a lot of banging around 6-7am, not sure what that was about.
The Wifi DOES NOT WORK. They have several WiFi networks set up and none of them worked. They also don't have passwords on their wifi networks, come on guys. Sure it was a holiday weekend but every other hotel in the world has WiFi set up successfully. There also isn't good service here. This hotel is 15-20mins from wildcat and 10 from Attitash which is good. Overall not a good or great hotel and I probably wouldn't stay here again.

Lovely quaint old hotel. My husband and I just enjoyed a very relaxing weekend here. The bed was very comfortable. Everything was spotless and well cared for. One complaint I often have even fancy hotels, is the water pressure and temperature in the shower. No complaints here! Very strong water pressure plus good and hot. We got to-go breakfast sandwiches one morning.
They were delicious and perfectly cooked. Served with fresh made home fries for $10. Excellent breakfast. Complimentary coffee and tea were available in the lobby quite early. They asked that masks be worn in common areas. All the staff that I saw was wearing them. When booking on-line, you can request extra linens. Staff was very efficient and friendly. The building is really lovely. There is a lot of well preserved history in it.

The hotel does have character and a charming location but in dire needs of an upgrade. There were spiders in our room, pool was dirty, very small room, just not what we were expecting. We were there with our 2 children and there was nothing going on at the hotel, arcade is old and sparse. There were barely any staff to be seen. Front desk person not so friendly, seemed annoyed at requests for more towels (no house cleaning with COVID restrictions, another downer) Parking is inconvenient when your room is on the opposite end which ours was. After 8pm, there is no food, so bring snacks, vending machine is bare! We left early.

I love this place. This is what I think of when I think of a historic New England Inn. It's extremely comfortable, and is charming. We ate at the restaurant and the food was top notch. The waitperson was nice, and had a great sense of humor. In a bucolic area, ever so close to the Pinkham Notch visitor center, this Inn is close to everything, and isolated enough, as well.

The hotel is nice. It is old and historic but in good condition for the age of the building. The restaurant staff on the other hand, never came to even take a drink order. They were not close to being busy. I told my wife that at this rate we will be here for hours so we might as well leave. We did and nobody cared or even acknowledged that we left including the host.
The atmosphere in the restaurant was lacking also. I felt like we were in some old Elks lodge or something. We went to the nearby Fox Run and had an excellent meal and service.

Stayed here for one night in June. Really cute area and lots to do within walking distance! Check-in was quick. and the cookies, blueberry/lemon infused water at the front desk was a nice welcome! The room was a good size, and we had a room on the third floor so the view was great. It's a historic hotel, complete with a very slow/historic elevator. the bed was also pretty uncomfortable, but overall it was a nice, quiet stay and I would stay here again!

A last minute thought to book a trip north for the night, finding a pet friendly location limited us. I booked this on expedia, but called to double check the pet policy as expedia had no option, but it said pet friendly. I'm glad I called. There are 4 pet friendly rooms in this entire location. I was 'lucky to grab the last one available".
The pet side. no dogs allowed in the lobby except checking in/out. A rule they should hold all accountable for. We saw a man with his small dog sitting by the fire so after dinner we thought we'd do the same. We were told that he couldnt be in the lobby. A slight downer but oh well. The bar was cute, but a little on the pricier side. Not outrageous but higher than I'd have thought.
The restaurant was a bit too "gourmet" for my finicky husband so we dined elsewhere. The breakfast was a 'full buffet" with eggs benedict, 'green eggs and ham', french toast and breakfast meats. plain eggs would have been nice-again for my finicky husband. The room was basic but cute. The old wood furniture gave a great atmosphere. However the pipes need some help.
Every time the heat kicked on, there was a really loud knocking sound. and it kicked on every hour and a half or so. Over all a nice place stay with million dollar views, but the restless sleep was a turn off.

Visited for a fall wedding. The surrounding atmosphere was breathtaking. The resort itself is super old and is in desperate need of upgrades all around. The "aged" look does give it an Old New England feel to it, which some may like. Jackson Falls is right down the street and you're not so far away from a few outdoorsy things to do. Overall, we had a good weekend and the place grew on me a bit.
The front porch overlooking the mountains was fantastic and relaxing. Wedding food was decent but not great. I did order four cheeseburgers one afternoon and a side of onion rings and it cost 70 bucks. Yep, 70 bucks. So, take or leave it with this place.

After quite a long drive, my parents, my guy and I finally arrived here at Eagle Mountain House & Golf Club for the evening. We were zip lining in the area the next day, so this place was the perfect spot for the night. Not sure what to expect, my guy and I made our way to our room by taking the seriously old elevator. I was a bit creeped out by it, but it was a really great elevator!
The whole place in general is a bit old fashioned, but it has loads of character and I would stay here again! The room we stayed in was cozy. Mod cons and a window unit air conditioner, everything was comfortable and the bathroom was bright, the shower was powerful. My guy, being curious, the next morning, went downstairs for coffee time, which was really nice, as we were still a bit jet lagged from flying a few days before.
We went further downstairs and realised that there is a game room which would be nice for kids to hang out in. We didn't order food or anything, but there was a huge eating area for people to have breakfast/lunch/dinner and there were plenty of people enjoying food while we were there. The outdoor setting is pretty amazing. It has the most amazing view of the mountains and there's plenty of spaces to celebrate things on the grounds.
Lots of rocking chairs on the porch that wraps around the building which was nice. We had no issues, the staff were friendly and helpful and everything was clean and quiet and enjoyable. I would come back here for sure!

A great place to stay for the fall/autumn colors. Staff were ridiculously friendly and ask them about where to hike to see the colors and there's plenty of great reccomendations. Rooms as the reviews say are old, and dated. But this is what you expect from a historic hotel. They have a spa, which hilariously consists of just one tub and a slightly old person smell.
The historic hotel is like a quick step onto the set of the Shining. Service is great and makes up for all the quirkiness that surrounds the hotel. I'm glad we stayed there and would always recommend it as a place to stay when you're in the White Mountains in NH.

Called to book rooms an hour after we arrived at our original destination ( a disaster ) and was able to book two rooms on short notice. Person we spoke to was courteous and helpful. When we arrived, the same person registered us in and showed us where our rooms were. The rooms were old but comfortable. Being in such a historic building the rooms were small but after some adjustments, very workable. Yes, the floors, stairs, porch and beds were creaky, but you would be too if you were that old!
The food in the restaurant was good but the only complaint my granddaughter had and another couple was Taco Tuesday. Evidently their Taco Tuesday was not as she thought. She thought it would have been something like a taco bar with all the fixings, but, their version was short rib, pulled pork and scallop tacos. Not very kid friendly. Since they have the setups for the breakfast buffet, it wouldn't be too difficult to setup a taco bar that would be fun for kids and adults who enjoy family taco night. Lastly, if you serve rolls with seeds (maybe nuts, too), your wait staff should know what they are in case of allergies.
Not only did they not know, neither did the kitchen staff as the outsource the product from a vendor and did not have an ingredient list. Not good. Overall, we would stay here again.

We recently stayed here the week after Christmas. Unfortunately there was no snow, so we weren't able to ski! But Jackson has so much more to offer, that I was pleasantly surprised with how we spent our days. Jackson is the quintissential, perfect NH town. The hotel was beautiful on the outside, a sprawling old farmers porch inn. For better or worse, the floors creaked when you walked, showing you the age and the authenticity of it.
It truly felt like rustic NH. The decor was also rustic. I was in love with the inside, with many fireplaces, cozy reading nooks and rooms, and lots of game space to play. The food for both breakfast and lunch was very good! For breakfast they have a buffet, and you can also order from the menu. For lunch it is part of the resturaunt, and it has a great fireplace with couches. IThe entire stay was cozy, comforting and relaxing.
Our room was a bit small, but was clean, comfortable, and had a beautiful bathroom. The other room in our party was a suite, which was spacious. The staff was always very friendly, and helpful. We loved our server Patty - she was the best!

We came for a wedding and stayed a night. The hotel is obviously very old and historic, so it has its charms, but (as other people mentioned) the floors are creaky and the elevator is sketchy. We had a room right across from the elevator so it was clanking around in the night. The beds were heavenly, though. We had a great nights' sleep. The game room was interesting, would be great for families, although we only played a few rounds of ping pong.
The breakfast buffet had a lot of yummy options; the waffles were fantastic! This is very much a golf resort, though. We tried to walk around to enjoy the views and got scolded by golfers. If golf isn't your thing, there doesn't seem to be much else to do nearby.

We come here every year and stay for four nights. We like coming here because it's a big, beautiful historic hotel with great views. It has a huge porch with rocking chairs which adds to the charm. There are pet friendly rooms which we take advantage of (for a small charge). There is a pool and the hotel is situated on a golf course. The rooms are older (as it is a historic site) but I think It adds to the charm. We have never eaten here, but the bartender does make some good drinks!

This place is History. I mean it was rebuilt in 1915, That's a long time for a building. Also reading other reviews make it sound like this place has changed hands alot. It's a beautiful building. But it's super old. The floors are super creaky. The elevator was very old. And this place is a historical building and all that. I get that I do.
What this place needs is someone who loves it to just throw a stupid amount of money at it so they can remodel it down to the bones. The rooms were very clean. I think the bathrooms are more up to date. The shower pressure was amazingly strong it bordered on too strong. The bed was very very firm, and there wasn't much room in the room all around.
The windows aren't well sealed so I can only guess how cold the rooms get in winter when this area is Ski city. Also when we stayed there it was very warm I would say 80s at the hottest part, and they had not yet put the window units in. They were sitting in the closet of the room along with a box fan. The windows also don't really open or close well and I saw several that were broken. Honestly if your a bigger person as I am your going to feel a bit uncomfortable all around.
I also wouldn't really recommend this place for younger energetic children. We had a few with our group and they were constantly getting grumped at by the staff. The floors creak children run people get mad. There is also a quite time between 10pm-7am. The room doors don't totally seal so you hear all the sounds of the hall way. They have a game room but it all costs money and its all dated as well.
The hotel is also full of things that your not really allowed to touch and could easily break. As for the staff, everyone I actually interacted with was super nice. We were at the place for a wedding with a large group of people. We ate breakfast at the buffet twice and had dinner there one night. The food was great and the staff was quick to get refills on drinks and take away plates and make sure everyone had everything they needed.
The breakfast buffet is great it runs from 7am-10am and they had some great food. Eggs, Bacon, Sausage, French toast, Waffles, and several other things. I heard several grumbles from people in our group though. Some people were late to breakfast on Saturday they showed up at 10 and all the food was still out. Lots of it. And after a short confrontation with the staff they were allowed a quick plate.
One of the people in our group did not get their room cleaned at any point. The person wanted their room cleaned but no one came. When asked about it the staff just shrugged.
