When my mother and I walked in, the staff were not friendly at all. I told them I just wanted to look around and see what they had, and a scowling woman pointed toward the back wall. They literally had about 20 bridal gowns to choose from, none of which were that nice. 2 minutes into looking, we found 1 dress that had some potential, and my mother and I took it off the rack to get a better look.
As we were doing so, the same woman walked up to us and said they were closing early and, more or less, told us to leave (it was about 2pm on a Saturday). We were glad she did us the favor. This store used to be decent about 15 years ago. Sad to see that it's gone so far downhill.

I wish I didn't have to give any stars. People wonder what you did wrong when they read your negative review. I can tell you the only thing we did wrong was walking in their front door. What an awful experience we had there. I had been there quite a few times in the past buying prom dresses for my daughters, when they sold them, and with friends shopping for wedding dresses for their daughters.
We got there and were handed a clipboard with a questionnaire for my daughter to fill out letting them know what she was looking for. The girl that 'helped' us, I use that term loosely, grabbed 2 dresses with her, hung them on a rack and walked away leaving me to help her into the dress. There was no effort made to clip the back in a way that she could see the details or lay it right to see embellishments.
She did clip to tighten it for fit. After half heartedly putting the clip she walked away. I unclipped her, went back in dressing room. She put on another dress, same exact response with this dress. I went back to dressing room with my daughter, told her to put on her own clothes that we were leaving. She agreed completely. We told them we were leaving and that we were going elsewhere for a dress that she really liked.
They didn't even try to get us to stay and find something comparable. It didn't seem to bother them at all. We felt like we were a bother. I can spend my money anywhere, Chrissy O's was not getting it. I'll never go back and I will never recommend anyone going there.

I went to Chrissy O's this week to look a wedding gown for my wedding next June. They had a decent selection of dresses, and I liked that my mom and I were able to go through the racks and pull however many dresses we wanted. The prices were all very reasonable, and a lot lower than other bridal boutiques I've been too. However, the girl who helped me during my appointment was not very helpful.
She became very defensive when my mother asked simple questions about the alterations process. She came off as rude and only interested in making a sale. I ended up loving a dress at Chrissy O's, but I think I will buy the dress at a different store because I'm apprehensive of the quality of service that Chrissy O's would provide during the ordering/alterations process.

I really don't want to spend a lot of time writing this review, but I felt that it was important to get it out there so other brides, bridesmaids, and women in general - know what they are in for at Chrissy O. I have had little interaction with the boutique since I am not local to Newton, NJ. As a bridesmaid, my dear friend the bride had been spearheading all of the dress plans.
She chose Chrissy O because they had the exact designer bridal gown she was dreaming about. It's gorgeous. She also managed to find the most perfect bridesmaid's dresses at the boutique as well. Done and done. Right? Not so much. Being that a lot of the bridesmaids were all over the world, several of us had to take care of our dresses through phone communication and ultimately have the dresses shipped to us.
I was told when I called in my measurements that the shipment of my dress would not be an issue. We had all ordered them 6 months in advance. About 6 months later, bride gets word at a fitting that our dresses are in. It happened to be a busy time for me, but it would have been nice to receive a phone call from the boutique to follow up and let us know that our merchandise had arrived.
So far, no big deal. I call in to give my address and shipping info and pay the balance on my dress. Girl forgets to charge me shipping and has to call me back shortly after. All of this I can live with. Dress is paid for and on it's way to me! Done and done. Right? Not so much. A week or so later, I'm wondering where my dress is. Bride calls me to let me know that my dress arrived today at the maid of honor's house. I'm completely confused.
My dress is even a different color than the maid of honor's. Bride calls to investigate and one of the girls at the shop has the nerve to tell the bride that I gave them the wrong address. To me, this is preposterous and entirely rude. I'm in customer service and sales (the jewelry part of the wedding industry), and to think someone would be this rude to a bride-to-be bringing thousands of dollars of business to the store is beyond me.
Not to mention that I most certainly DID NOT give them the maid of honor's address and tell them it was my own. It was clearly the mistake of a shop girl and it was being handled in the poorest of fashion. At this point, the bride is fed up with the attitude of the ladies she had been dealing with at the shop. I offer to call the next day to try and see if any restitution can be achieved, as the maid of honor is now re-shipping my dress to me.
The maid of honor managed to get the dress to me in three days, at the correct address, and with complete TLC. I call to speak to a manager and am asked what it is in regards to. I give a brief but detailed account of what's happening, and am told the manager is not in, but I can call her during specific hours tomorrow. EXCUSE ME? I'm leaving a message and the manager can return MY call. Needless to say, I never heard from anyone. Their customer service is absolutely atrocious.

Not the best experience, the decor in here is less than ideal. It was a help yourself type attitude. Our girl was not helpful, was not understanding what style the bride was looking for. The selection was not ideal for a bigger bride most of the dresses were 8-12, so if one part of you is bigger than the other, they were not able to even imagine what the dresses would look like. Basically there was bad service and bad selection. The end.

I was helped by Jessica, with whom I had been in email correspondence since a week ago. I am visiting my future in-laws from LA, and I was still deciding between a couple dresses for a wedding in October. Jessica was terrific with email correspondence, and was awfully kind and courteous in person. My mother-in-law, sister-in-law, and niece accompanied me, and I did not walk in expecting the shop to have my preferred dress in my size, with the perfect hem length.
I had been made aware that the shop did have my preferred dress, but in a couple sizes up. I didn't think it'd be a big deal, since I thought I could just be clipped in. I arrived with my family, and I was promptly laced into the dress I ended up purchasing. I don't know if today the shop was having a promotion, but I ended up getting my perfect dress for 30% off, my perfect veil, and the flower girl dress for my niece (also for 30% off) all within an hour.
I will be taking my dress with me to LA, and I feel so fortunate to have come across this gem. Everything happened so unexpectedly today, and I'm grateful to God and Chrissy O Designs for having the selection necessary to make that possible. Their dressing rooms are charming gazebos/tents made of fabric, with am ambient atmosphere toward the back of the shop where all the bridal attire are. There's a huge mirror atop an elevated circular stage, where spotlights are directed. There's also seating for accompanying party. It's definitely not the swanky/polished type of shop, but the staff are very courteous and insightful, and they have a good selection of gorgeous dresses. Thank you Chrissy O Designs!
