This painstakingly restored historic home is a breathtaking study in the grace and elegance of a time gone by. The interior will entrance you with its lavish furnishings and many period details, including mahogany paneling, sliding pocket doors, white marble-encased fireplaces and crystal chandeliers.

Mother's Day- 5/8/16 Seven members of my family, including my 10 month old little girl, and 2 of our closest friends arrived at the Barrington House around 12:40 to celebrate Mother's Day luncheon. Prior to arriving, my mother n' law called to confirm the total number of guests and seating arrangements needed, including a high chair, only to arrive and find there are no high chairs provided despite what was promised.
Maybe "high chair" and "booster seat" were confused. In any case we spent the remainder the meal holding our little girl. We were seated fairly promptly but spent around 20 minutes from first drink served to the final drink was completed. We then received a strawberry bruschetta appetizer. The combination was very creative but delivery needed help.
The bread was very soft and strawberry got lost in the almost " Ole El Paso" style salsa topping not in the least near to a bruschetta. We made our way to the buffet where there were many offerings available. The strawberry salad with red onion and candied nuts was very delicious but was one of very few things filled but unfortunately was gone before the rest of our party made it through the line.
It was served in a small serving bowl and we were told once it was gone, there was no more. This was the same reply for the sweet potatoes, only they replaced it with mashed potatoes. The dessert bar wasn't much different. In fact, in one pan it had nothing left but the runny aftermath of what was a pan of banana pudding. When asked when it would be replaced the response was" we don't replace the pans until they are empty".
At conclusion of the meal, we voiced our frustration to be the manager hoping to see some simpathy but received more shock and surprise and a statement that " this never happens". My husband has spent the better half of over a decade managing large dining establishments to small fine dining facilities and after eating there said "I can honestly say it doesn't matter how good your food is if your service is suffering." In any case, a response from a manager should be simpathetic and helpful not confused and disinterested.
We paid our bills at roughly 20$ a person only to be charged the wrong amounts to each other's credit cards and a gift card from the receptionist with an offer to return. In any case, I have a free meal for two at the Barrington House available if you want it. It seems from these other reviews maybe I need to have a wedding there to have a good experience or at least low expectations.

My girlfriend and I had reserved a room at Barrington House Bed & Breakfast for a long weekend many months in advance. Out of nowhere, a couple of days before our stay was supposed to start we received a notice in the mail stating our reservation had been cancelled and we were refunded our money. No explanation was given at all. We attempted to call the bed and breakfast and left several messages, however no one from Barrington House would call us back to explain why our reservation had mysteriously vanished.
I am very disappointed with how we were treated. This reflects very poorly on the individuals in charge, and I would be skeptical of the service and hospitality they could offer as a bed and breakfast. My recommendation would be to stay elsewhere.

Our stay at the B&B was great, felt very welcomed, the rooms were very pleasant, nice & clean. The food was absolutely the best, if ever in the area again will return. thank you one suggestion that I have is that it would be ever so helpful for us senior citizens to have a bar we could hang onto getting in & out of the tub & shower.

We had the pleasure of having our son's rehearsal dinner at Barrington House this weekend and everything was wonderful! Food was delicious, venue was interesting and attractive, and staff was attentive and friendly. Couldn't ask for a better evening, and thanks to Chris and his staff for everything!

I celebrated my 40th birthday here this past July and LOVED IT! My husband and I rented the entire building and grounds to have the party then my husband and I, my parents, children, and father in law stayed the night. It was a great place. The food was wonderful and the pricing was perfect. I will never forget it!

My husband and I were married and had our reception at The Barrington House in December of 2006. It was a beautiful, most enchanting experience and our wedding couldn't have been more perfect! We come back every year for our anniversary and take advantage of the B&B. Any chance we get, we will have dinner here (which is delicious) and in fact my husband just threw me a surprise 30th birthday party here as well! Chris, the innkeeper, is the nicest guy and always more than accommodating.
If you are planning a wedding, a special event, want to take a "special getaway, " or just have a fabulous meal, then look no further. The Barrington House is absolutely amazing, and you won't be disappointed.

Amazing staff, fabulouse food all at a beautiful location. My husband and I have visited Barrington House several times and each time have completely enjoyed our time there. The staff is very attentive. Chris could not be any more friendly. We have never been disappointed in the food from the appetizers to the main course, everything was great. We have had the pleasure of staying at the Barrington Inn and enjoyed our stay as well as our breakfast. Hats off to the Barrington for keeping the beauty in the home. Keep up the good work.

We just had our daughter's wedding reception at Barrington House a few weeks ago, and it was just wonderful. Yes, the house shows some signs of age here and there, but that is just part of the southern manor charm. If you are looking for a venue that is unique and different from the run-of-the-mill banquet hall, then this is it. Chris, the general manager, was great to work with.
In the days leading up to the event, everything we threw at him he took in stride and made it happen. On the day of the reception, the house was beautiful and all of the staff were friendly and professional. The food was awesome! So many of our guests commented to us on how good the food was and how lovely the house is. We would gladly go to Barrington House again for future events.

My wife and I had our wedding reception at the Barrington House. We had a great time, and we've heard from our guests that they did as well. The food was delicious, and the owner, Chris, was a big help in walking us through the whole process from start to finish. Everything was perfect, the house itself is beautiful. I would highly recommend the Barrington House if you're looking for a place to host your reception. You won't be disappointed.

My wife and I came during weekday when the price was cheaper and we could have the whole house to ourselves. The historical look that they try to preserve her is awesome. The in house and outside speakers were great when listening to music. Chris who was our in keeper made every effort and do an excellent job to make sure my wife and I had everything we needed or wanted. The $140 extra candle light 5 course dinner is worth every dime. I just can't say enough about the atmosphere, accommodations and Chris. Will definitely be coming back!
