Stunning place, we were here for a wedding, did not stay at the hotel. The wedding and venue was top notch!

Very nice accomodations. Very clean rooms and bathrooms were immaculate. Seems restaurant was closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, but Newport had plenty of places for dinner. I read other reviews about crowds during wedding ceremonies, that may be a consideration when booking a stay. Overall, the price was fine for such a great hotel. I know I'll be back in years to come.

This place was amazing. The staff is aware of what they have. They don't over promise. It isn't pretending to be something it's not. It was an old mansion. It has been very well preserved while inching into the future without overshadowing the beauty of this location. Lodging, VERY UNIQUE AND AWESOME. Ocean Cliff has technology in the right places.

Absolutely loved my stay here, the history and the atmosphere along with the great staff and service made my stay both memorable and enjoyable, one of the few things I had some concern with was the way the rooms are heated, I had to open the window in order to stay comfortable, the food at the safari room was great, I loved the Portuguese soup, being as how I am Portuguese I was a little upset at the improper naming of one it's most important ingredients which is chourico not chorizo which is Mexican and no bread to go with the delicious soup.the breakfasts are great and the staff spared no expense to make sure we had fresh fruits and breakfast varieties

Disclaimer: My review is based on a wedding event I attended. I couldn't think of a better place to hold a wedding AND reception! My friends had an outdoor wedding here, and the weather was amazing! Nothing beats a wedding ceremony right by the water. The arrangement was lovely. Beautiful altar and white chairs everywhere. The reception was indoors and omg what a room!

The windows pointed towards the water, and we enjoyed admiring the sunset throughout the night. The service was impeccable and the staff was beyond friendly. I would definitely consider having my wedding here. Hopefully one day.

Hotel and location are great. Restaurant is tasty. However, do not go during wedding season or when weddings are booked. Crowds are loud and will keep you up through the night screaming on the floors outside your room. Other than that great spot and place to stay, would be better if staff enforced noise rules outside of resident rooms.

My Husband and I got married at OceanCliff on 1.29.22 (for the second time!) and it was everything we could have hoped for. We were originally scheduled to get married in Feb of 2021, but decided to postpone. We ended up still have a very small ceremony on the original date with just family. OceanCliff was so kind to allow this and made it a wonderful experience.

Fast forward to our postponed wedding in January. It ended up being on the day of a blizzard! With the stress of having to postpone our original date, then the spike of the omicron variant and THEN a blizzard scheduled for our big day, its safe to say we were stressed. OceanCliff didn't miss a beat. They are seriously the best in the business. I have no idea how they pulled it off, but it was flawless.

The entire staff was amazing. Steven was excellent to work with the weekend of the wedding. Alison was the best throughout the whole planning experience and such a helpful resource. The food was phenomenal. The staff handled the change of plans (due to the blizzard) with ease and professionalism. They coordinated with our vendors to make it all possible and did their best to ensure as many vendors could make it as possible, even letting some come days earlier to set up equipment and decor.

We can't thank everyone at OceanCliff enough. I truly don't think our wedding would have happened at any other venue given all the obstacles thrown our way. We are SO appreciative and will be back! If you're looking for the best in Newport, these guys are it! THANK YOU OCEANCLIFF!

Amazing location, great beds & bedding! Classy rooms. Breakfast.nondescript though. Did not try for supper at The Safari Room (what is that name about, anyway, overlooking the gorgeous, Newport Bay)?

OceanCliff is truly fantastic! We just had our wedding there and we couldn't be happier! Everything was perfect! OceanCliff's staff members are genuine, kind, thoughtful, and responsive. They truly wanted to make your special day even more special! The views are spectacular, the food is yummy! What more could you ask for! If you want to get married in Newport, we totally suggest you pick oceancliff!

Galen Cobb is a nightmare to deal with. We had a confirmed date to tour the venue and she was rude instantly. She emailed me 2 days prior saying she "forgot she had her birthday lunch." We don't want someone planning our wedding that can't even remember their birthday lunch. How would they plan a wedding if they can't remember their own birthday? I wish I was making this up, very unprofessional.

We were told not to even check here by friends but were willing to check it out until dealing with Galen. We're also coming in from NJ so changing the date last minute couldn't work.

Amazing views, great service, good location, the hotel itself looks very nice, but once i got into the room, it was not good. Very very old, everything inside needs to be revamped. The bed was so hard and squeaky, very tiny room as well. Breakfast included was nothing special. almost everything needs updating. I will not be going back there again. I DO NOT recommend it.

We arrived here very late at night, and I can't tell you how great it felt to have a comfy bed to sleep in, waiting for us! The grounds are absolutely stunning, and the location couldn't be better! We walked around the neighborhood, it was so peaceful and beautiful, and we even reached a park, which boarded the ocean!

I attended a wedding here and called ahead to make sure the space was accessible for my boyfriend who is a wheelchair user. Whomever was on the other end of the phone assured me the "entire facility" was accessible. Failed to mention their only accessible bathroom is the women's room. So every time my boyfriend had to use the bathroom he'd have to find someone who worked there, have them clear everyone already in the bathroom out, and then he could use it.

This was embarrassing for everyone involved and a pretty big oversight considering I called and checked online for accessibility. Not to mention their only accessible entrance had us was walking in the rain and soaked for the wedding. Employee watched us walk in and get soaked didn't bother to offer one of the many umbrellas I saw available later. Disabled people deserve the same treatment as able bodied people.

Seamus working the front was very friendly and helpful. Amenities are good as well, however the building is old and is starting to show its age in both decor and smell. Our room had a nice view of the ocean. Our only real complaint is the bed, very firm and hard to sleep on. [Edit: We changed rooms, staff was very accommodating and friendly]

My husband and I just got married at OceanCliff on 10/22/21. We could NOT be happier! From the start, working with Amanda to plan our day was seamless. She answered all my e-mails promptly and with detail. Working with Jim and Liz to finalize the bill and ensure each event was scheduled and every choice documented made planning our 3rd (yes, 3rd) wedding a breeze.

They made great recommendations for our DJ, rehearsal dinner and dessert options among other things. We were SO happy with everything we chose, I wish we could go back and re-live the moments! Staying at the hotel wasn't the BEST. It's an old building. The beds aren't the most comfortable and the sink/shower runs rusted water at first. The views, however, are spectacular, and the grounds are breathtaking.

The staff at the front desk were more than accommodating and they were so patient with us when we had them bringing up ice and moving our champagne table around for the day of the wedding! Overall, we could not recommend OceanCliff enough. We got multiple compliments of how delicious the food at the wedding was and how beautiful everything was. It was a dream come true! We can't wait to come back next year for our 1 year anniversary!

Even though the hotel and rooms are showing wear they are beautifully located beside breathtaking views of the Narragansett Bay! The location never lacked the sail boats leisurely navigating the waters or the gorgeous sunsets each evening! This made it all worthwhile!

I was told to call early the morning of our arrival date to see if we can check in earlier than 3 pm. I called 4 times and had to leave a message as nobody ever answered. I never received a phone call back and arrived around 1 p.m. I asked the front desk why I never received a callback. They told me they were out and about doing other things and wanted to know what number I was calling.

It turned out I was calling the front desk. Our room upon entering it was so chilly! I called twice to have someone adjust the temperature. We went out into town and upon return, the room was still chilly. I called again to have some heat turned on. The bathroom mirror was fogged over and the bathroom floor was actually wet! After we finished dinner at 8:30 p.m. we went back upstairs to a stiil "chilly" room.

I went downstairs and asked the young lady at the front desk to bring some blankets up to the room. When she arrived, I had her look at the wet floor in the bathroom. She said she never experienced anything like this from the room in the past. She brought us extra towels to cover the bathroom floor and she turned the heat up more to make the room a comfortable temperature. It is a beautiful location and they cater to the wedding venues. Next time I visit Newport, I will look for another place to stay.
