Great place to rent stuff that is needed occasionally. Quick in and out and great explanations for equipment that your not familiar with, makes you an expert in no time. Very much recommended.

I have had my truck pull skids steers 35 foot camping trailer clean to the other side of USA THEY TELL ME MY TRUCK IS TO LIGHT TO PULL A CAR TRAILER FROM CHIPPEWA FALLS WI. ONLY 25 MILES AND THEY CAN NOT RENT ME A CAR TRALER FOR 2 HOURS THE CAR THAT I'M PULLING HOME AND TRALER IS TO MUCH FOR MY TRUCK. LIKE I TOLD A-1 RENT CENTER I WILL NOT EVER GET ANYTHING FROM THIM TO RENT EVER A GINE from thim. But I will rent from U-HAIL RENTAL CENTER ANY TIME.

We rented a tamper, friendly staff, knowledgeable and worked great! We will rent from here again.

Great place, great staff, easy to use equipment. I rented a towable boom to paint the house, never using one before. They show you how to use it before you leave but my midday you would have thought I was in the Union. Would definitely recommend A-1.

Excellent customer service! Cheapest rentals in town. They were able to answer all my questions before renting a trailer, not to mention the fact they have EVERYTHING I think you can possibly rent! Great place overall

A1 Express Rental Center in Rice Lake, Wisconsin is an agent for Penske Truck Rental. That is who supplies their vehicles. Over a week before the date on which I wished to pick up the vehicle, I reserved a high-roof cargo van through the Penske web site. Right away I got a confirmation email. On the agreed upon pickup day, when I got to A1 Express Rental Center's Rice Lake place of business, they did not have the van I had reserved. Instead, they expected me to take a cube-truck that would have been way too large, and unfit for transporting our dog.

There was barely enough room in the cabin for two people, but not for the dog as well. He would have been relegated to the cargo area, in complete darkness, unable to even see or hear us. Furthermore, the truck had tires with bald shoulders. It was dirty, covered with dust and leaf litter from an overhanging tree. And, frankly, it lacked even a decent amount of passenger leg room.

I told the employees that A1 Express Rental Center had treated us shamefully. I lost a day of time by having to go to U-Haul in Superior Wisconsin and rent exactly the kind of vehicle I needed.at half the price that the Rice Lake outfit wanted us to pay. Lesson learned. Do not trust A1 Express Rental Center.

I used A-1 this past summer for a bounce house rental for a birthday party. They were great and easy to work with. On top of that if you rent on a Saturday you get an extra day of use at the same rate. Pick up and drop off was simple and I was in and out doing each within 5-10 minutes. I would definitely recommend!

A-1 rental is my go to for anything I need. They always work well with me and have always been there for me. Even when something happens in the field they are there to fix the problem and make it right. Then there is Mike what a great guy to get to know. he made sure I was satisfied with his staff and equipment and asked me my thoughts and took everything I said to heart.

He treated me better than family and would definitely recommend A-1 rental in a heart beat. You will not be disappointed with your rental or purchasing experience at A-1 rental!

We rented a lift and was told that it would get through a regular door. NOT. It was too tall by 3 inches so we brought it back when they opened the next morning.no refund even though we could not use it. So renter beware. Alot of time and money for NOTHING. Not to be trusted.

SHORT VERSION: THEY CHARGE YOU FOR MECHANICAL FAILURES WHEN THEIR WORN OUT EQUIPMENT BREAKS UNDER NORMAL USE. Quite possibly the worst experience I've had with any rental company, and by far the worst customer service experience locally. They rent equipment telling you it is in good operating condition. On the morning of my rental, settings on a grass overseeder were so worn off I was told to guess.

A power broom almost wouldn't start. The technician pulled the recoil heavily several times before realizing the choke was half broken and needed to be pushed further before it would start, and it finally started. When I used the power broom on my property, it started fine the first time. I went to start it a second time, pulled the recoil and the whole motor separated from the body.

When I returned the equipment I explained how this happened to the technician. He told me he would process the paper work and I'd have to talk to someone up front to resolve it. I went up to the front desk, one other customer was in the lobby, 2 other counter staff. The 3rd counter person came in from the back room and announced loudly that we have a problem, so everyone in the room could hear.

He went on to tell me that I would need to pay for the broken part. I clearly explained how the motor had separated when I was trying to start it, and expressed my frustration for not being able to finish the project it had been rented for. They didn't care because I didn't purchase a damage waiver. Long story short, I talked with the owner about it just a few minutes later. Explained how I have rented several items from them in the past including a skid steer, and would take my business elsewhere if he could not resolve this without accusing me of equipment abuse.

He replied "Well, where else are you going to rent this stuff?" He didn't care at all, but wanted me to pay for a used and abused machine repair. GO ANYWHERE ELSE. AVOID THIS PLACE. THEY'LL CHARGE YOU FOR POORLY MAINTAINED AND WORN OUT EQUIPMENT WHEN IT BREAKS.
