Once a 500 acre farm where Mr. Brooks raised his championship Black Angus cows and blue-ribbon Tennessee Walking horses, Allandale is now an exciting part of Kingsport's civic and social life. Elegant weddings, receptions, dinners, business meetings, and innovative celebrations once again fill the halls with the joyous sounds of laughter, dancing, and the romance of an earlier time.
Allandale is home to a rich history. Below, learn how Allandale came to be a key East Tennessee landmark and a unique part of the City of Kingsport's offerings. It is said that Timashenko, landscape architect to President Dwight Eisenhower, designed and managed the details for the original Allandale grounds.
The Friends of Allandale were formed in 1989 to support continuing improvements at Allandale Mansion by a group of people with a focus on developing the beauty of Allandale and creating a distinctive location in the Kingsport area for special events. Since then, this family of Friends has grown to include over 250 members who have supported over $550,000 of improvements to the interior, the exterior, and the grounds of Allandale Mansion.
Generally, photo sessions are only allowed Monday - Thursday when other events have not been scheduled. Photos are not allowed when the grounds have been booked for private events. Yes! Fishing is allowed Monday - Thursday during daylight hours, as long as no other events are scheduled. A Tennessee fishing license is required.

Such a beautiful place. The. Grounds are so well kept the staff is very friendly. Catered a wedding here and they allowed full access to their kitchen and also landed a very helpful hand. The 2 ladies that I had the pleasure of meeting, were very professional, friendly and curtious. I didn't get to see all the areas of the mansion and it's property but from what I saw it was beautiful.

The parking was handled well, the music was enjoyable and the food trucks were good. HOWEVER, there are people that have absolutely no manners at an outdoor concert. They talk loudly and constantly during the music and take away from the enjoyment of the others nearby who came to hear the music. A simple PA announcement to refrain from talking while the bands are playing would probably help. But due to the fact that rude people near us couldn't control their talking, my wife and I decided we won't be going to any more public events at Allandale.

Getting married here it's great! Except it's so old no ac except the main house. Is small on the inside so it always is in the barn or pavilion. It's hot and muggy every time I'm here. Otherwise great place

We got married at the Allendale. For the reception barn and use of the house, it was about $1800. We had all originally planned to have the ceremony out at the gazebo, but when we heard rain, the staff set us up in a room of the house for no additional charge. We both were given one room each to get ready. Each room had a full bathroom! The reception barn is very large, with plenty of space for dancing.

Since the barn is flammable, they require you hire the fire marshal for the reception part of your day, and you can't have any sparklers or candles inside. Downstairs is the perfect spot to set up the caterer with a full kitchen for the bartender. We really made the right choice with Allendale. The property is beautiful, and the staff let us come walk the property anytime we needed for the planning. The day of, each staff member was so supportive but stayed at a distance to let us have our day.

Beautiful venue but parts of the ceiling was water damaged and crumbled during the wedding, staff had to come and sweep up a couple of times throughout the night

Cool place to photograph, especially around by the pond. Great place for events and activities as well. It is really neat when they open the mansion itself and allow people to tour through the inside. This happened during the annual car show at least when I was there. There's several nice spots to do photo shoots and it's a good place to walk and enjoy the outdoors a but as well.

The amphitheater is really nice in the warmer months, too. There's food vendors who come set up and they invite really good bands to come play. Definitely expect to park in the grass most the time when you go, though. This is usually where the trash can painting for Fun Fest happens as well.
