Our DJ did a fantastic job! It went perfect - it stayed a very good party all night - perfect music and just a great time! A special thanks too, to Music In Motion for setting up everything prior to the event. Thanks for the great party - everybody said it was awesome! Wow, what an absolute wonderful DJ. She played an excellent arrangement of music.
The dance floor was busy all night. We had a lot of kids at our wedding dance and the DJ handled them very well. Our guests the next day commented on how well the DJ balanced the night with kids stuff and adult music.

Everything about my experience with Music in Motion was amazing. They responded quickly and always answered each part of my multiple questions. Their event manager even reached out to me about 6 weeks and 3 weeks from my wedding so I didn't have to worry about always reaching out. That took a lot of stress off my mind. Tyler was our DJ and he was amazing!
Super willing to work with anything we wanted and double checked everything with me to make sure it was what I wanted. He was friendly, had a great personality, and kept people dancing (even though we aren't exactly a group of dancers haha). I am really happy with the price and the services I received for that price. I would definitely recommend going through them for any event you need!

The young men who were here to play were very nice and very personable. That was the one small upside to the quality of this DJ service. They did not play any of the song list that my daughter in law requested. At 10pm when 80-90% of the guests had left, we realized that there had been no daughter/father dance, no son/ mother dance, no dollar dance, and no bouquet toss.
For $1000 I would assume that the DJ is to orchestrate all these very important parts of the wedding reception. I am very disappointed as are the newly weds. I plan to plaster this horrible service all over Facebook because I feel it will keep another bride from missing out on these important parts of any wedding reception.

My husband and I used Music In Motion for our wedding because they were professional and reasonably priced, and we regret it. We wanted a DJ that would play the music we wanted and not make the event about him/herself by commentating and "engaging" the crowd in strange ways. Several weeks prior to the event I contacted the company to connect with our assigned DJ.
It took 3 emails before anything happened. When our DJ called, it was a random call early on a Saturday morning. We spoke to him twice regarding the schedule of the wedding and our desires. He did not display good listening skills which made us hesitant even though he kept saying "yes, yes yes." We knew that we had a particular way we wanted the night to go so we tried to be proactive in communicating prior to the event to prevent frustration on either side.
During the event he spoke to us on the side to ask what the night would look like. I was irritated because that was the very reason I had called twice a few weeks earlier. I did not want to have to communicate "the plan" during the event because I wanted to have time to mingle with our guests. None of our other vendors required day-of direction because of adequate prior planning.
He started playing music before the time we requested which made it hard/impossible to hear speeches and played music to encourage dancing prior to our first dance which we had also communicated was not our desire. He brought CDs which we thought was outdated.and the song for the Father Daughter dance skipped which caused everyone to stand awkwardly for him to fix it.
He also pronounced the maid of honors name incorrectly which was another specific reason that we had called weeks before (none of the names were so bizarre that a brief review couldn't have fixed this). The DJ also tried to bring candy for the kids which we had to decline on our phone call with him and again the night of the wedding. For whatever reason he had a hard time understanding that we didn't want him handing out candy.
He also tried to play a "surprise" last song which we quickly denied. He was clearly not at our wedding to provide a service for us but rather there to perform in his own way. I do not recommend this company for events that would require a DJ to deviate from their "normal" performance or require them to modify their service to fit a specific style or customer request.

I don't typically leave reviews for companies. But I feel I need to share my experience as to hopefully avoid another bride and groom to have to go through the same thing I did. We hired them for our wedding and had a horrible experience. When we arrived to our venue the DJ was not there yet. Dinner was being served. The dj showed up in the middle of dinner.
He proceeded to walk through the guests with his equipment to set up. He had a door right next to where he was to set up to avoid disrupting the guest and that was not used. When he arrived he was not dressed for the event. He changed there at the venue. We had speeches planned for 7 but could not do them as he was not set up and we didn't have microphones available to use.
He pulled me aside to inform me that he didn't have his music library. We are 45 minutes from their location. He let me know someone would be bringing his library to him. The dance started late due to no music. I then asked about a prop package that I had paid extra for. He then proceeded to tell me he didn't have that either. I worked for months with Nicole who made me feel very confident we had hired the perfect service for what we were looking for.
I sent in a list of songs to play during the night. The dj didn't play any of them. When my guests would go to request a song, such as, another one bites the dust, they were told that wasn't a song. I also was informed he would tell them that he would only take requests from the bride and groom. After the event I reached out to music in motion to discuss my night with them.
I never heard anything from them. I had paid for my event completely up front. Please be careful when looking to hire them. They come across very professional and confident that they will give you the best service then don't.

Lee at Music in Motion was the greatest! He was on time, set everything up for my ceremony outside and then reset up inside quickly. He made sure to touch base with my husband and I frequently through out the night to make sure we were pleased. He was interactive with the crowd and he had the whole wedding doing such fun games that my guests are still talking about. I have never had more fun at a wedding then I did at mine and it was all thanks to Lee and Music in Motion!

We had a great experience with Music in Motion for our wedding. They were very organized in the months leading up to the wedding with regular check-ins and specific worksheets to fill out with our requests. The DJ at the wedding was very professional and knew exactly which songs we wanted vs didn't want. The music selection was great and kept the dance floor packed all night. Even our venue workers commented that they haven't seen a dance floor that full all night in awhile.

--- EDIT --- Music in Motion made things right and provided a refund as well as covering the cost of the last minute replacement DJ we had to find. Upped review to three stars for that. Original review below: --- I'm usually not one to leave a negative review, but this has been the worst experience I've ever had with any company and I feel a need to warn others.
We hired Music in Motion to DJ our wedding reception because they were known as the best and most reliable in town. We had a contract. Everything was paid for. Confirmation calls a few days in advance. It seemed like everything was set. During the reception the grand march is supposed to start at 8. Around 7:30 I began to get concerned that there was not yet a DJ around setting up.
So I started to place some calls (this is during the dinner, when the most important people in my life are giving speeches that I had to miss). Between emails and online searches, we found 4 different phone numbers for Music in Motion. None of them reached an actual person. The worst part is, one of those was labelled as the on-call number. Maybe on-call means something different to Music in Motion, but to me it means a person is always on the other end of that number.
So 8pm comes and goes, and still no DJ. We're starting to panic at this point. The entire bridal party is trying to call any number we can find for Music in Motion, including the number of the DJ himself. Nobody can get a hold of anyone. Finally we start calling around for replacement DJs. We ended up finding Radio 1 Music DJs at the very last minute and they could make it by 9pm to start our grand march.
The only thing they needed was $600 on the spot in cash. Amongst the bridal party we didn't have enough, so we had to ask friends and family at our wedding for cash, after most of them had just provided us with gifts. That should never have to happen. Keep in mind, my brand new bride is in back crying for most of this. What a great wedding night! I sent them an email that night requesting a full refund, plus the cost of the new DJ, which I figured was justified by the situation.
So you would think Music in Motion would probably apologize, right? Wrong. Never heard from them the day after the wedding. Finally two days after I got a voicemail while on the flight to our honeymoon just asking how we would like the refund. No apology or reason as to why the DJ never arrived. It's been 5 days now, and still nothing. We got the original $650 refunded, but a refund does not seem like enough when a contract was breached and our wedding night ruined. So if you actually want a DJ to show up to your event, I would not recommend Music in Motion.

I've been to at least a half dozen weddings that featured Music In Motion as the entertainment, and MIM never fails to put on a great party. Rarely do you see an empty dance floor at a reception, and their DJs do a wonderful job of controlling the pace of the party. Their playlist has a seemingly infinite number of songs in all different musical genres, and the DJs are extremely receptive and encouraging with their requests.
It is obvious that their goal is to provide a fantastic, fun experience that is tailored to the individual wedding. I have to say that no two receptions that they have been a part of have felt the same. I would highly, highly recommend them for your wedding.

I would HIGHLY recommend Music in Motion for anyone planning a wedding right now! Terry made sure he had every detail he need from me and he was always just a phone call away if I needed anything. Our DJ was on top of every detail of the night and made sure to keep me on top of things as well! I was so lucky to have such a great DJ to keep things on schedule and make sure everything was going as planned - I actually got to enjoy my reception without having to worry about the little details!
He briefed us with all the details before the grand entrance, and he had no problem with last minute detail changes and requests! He kept the guest in order to be sure people knew when dances, cake cutting, etc. was going to be happening and he was always sure to find me and let me know what time it was so I could be ready for the next event. I can't possibly thank him enough for everything he did to make that night go so smoothly!
It was worth every penny to have a professional DJ who was fun, knowledgable, personable, and on top of the details. He even gave my brother a refresher course on the dance steps to Crank That Soulja Boy! I loved it! If you are unsure about spending a little extra for a professional DJ, let me tell you, the best decision I made was spending the money to bring Music in Motion to my reception.
And to be honest, for the services the DJ provided that night it was VERY reasonably priced! It was like having a host/DJ/friend/dance teacher all in one! Cheers to Music in Motion!
