Great golf course. The fairways are wide and the greens are fast. The course provides (4) tee boxes to choose from. Beginners and novice golfers can all have a nice time. The greens fees are a little pricey. The cart should be included for this price. They offer lunch as a part of the fees. Choose from a burger, salad, sandwich, or hot dog. They come with chips. Drinks and fries or onion rings are extra. Order at the 8th hole and pick it up at the turn. Overall our threesome had a fantastic time and we will play again!

Boy, they've really decreased the distance on the white tees. Move them way up. The course is fun, the greens are pretty challenging. Weather is usually nice in Camarillo.

Pros: The course is usually in decent shape for a public course. Most of the fairways have good grass and the greens would be better if people fixed a pitch mark. But, as always, it's a public course. What do you expect? Cons: I wish they'd reduce the cost for a tee time by taking off the "free lunch" which includes food (hot dog, sandwich, etc) and a bag of chips.

The service at the turn isn't great, the soda machine is always either flat, out of syrup, or tastes like chemicals. They only take cash. It's not worth it. Never seen a cart girl on this course. Carts do not have coolers or GPS. Never seen a Marshall. I wouldn't say it's the best "green for not a lot of green" as they proudly display.

One of my favorite courses in the area. Played on a Friday morning for $45 with cart, bucket of range balls and lunch included. This place is known for fast and undulating greens that roll pure, but with the new tees they have just added the course can stretch out to just under 7k yards. Each hole has a unique layout and each poses different challenges in terms of tee box, landing areas and of course the greens as well.

They had just used the small punch on the greens, but expect within 2 weeks they will be immaculate and ready for summer. Tremendous course, outstanding value. Well worth the drive from LA.

Shady place. Shady people. Got a club stolen there by the group behind us. Thieves that steal from a kid. May the dirtbags that stole it always get triple bogies. No good vibes come from stolen goods. The establishment was of no assistance in helping recovery the stolen club. They make tee times and often over book BTW. And never book off golf apps way overpriced. Not worth it on this public course. Better ones in the area! If I could give negative stars I would.

Sterling Hills Golf Club is clean and long enough to enjoy the long-distance 6813-yard fairways. Check-in was a very friendly welcome and course views are pretty good. It is better to ride a golf cart since the fairways have steep hills with up and down ways.

Nice golf course tucked away in farm and residential area in Camarillo. Nice driving range without the views of eye sore nets. Fairways can be little tight but greens are well maintained and challenging. Weather is always cooler here to play here so it's a big plus. Weekdays are not too busy so it's a very chill atmosphere and the 9th hole bar crew was courteous. Nice course

I absolutely love coming to this beautiful course but the service is not up to par. I came in and talked to a man named Steve and I was very disappointed in his manners. I wish they had more people like Michael working there.

Almost completed healing from punching. There's a sand left on green that give you a shorter distance your putt but it is still rolling well. Overall condition is perfect. A few weeks later, you can expect real perfect condition as sterling hills has.

This course is the best bang for your buck in Ventura county! Great deal that comes with a meal ticket and a small bucket of balls.

Very nice club and a great course. The prices are very fair for the course you get to play on as it is quite nice. Additionally, they do provide a [very] small bucket with every round to warm up with on the range. The range is not very nice and many of the balls make their way onto the course.

Sterling Hills golf course was in fairly good shape. Greens were very good and most fairways were good. The individuals in the clubhouse were friendly and helpful i would recommend this course to anyone that has not played there.

My husband and I started playing this course earlier this summer. Sam in the pro shop is super friendly, knowledgeable and helpful, as are all of the staff. The starters keep up a good pace of play and the course is in good shape. As a bonus they give you a voucher for lunch and a bucket of balls. The food is good and the bar serves great cocktails. We highly recommend this course and have brought several friends and family to enjoy.

It took 2 1/2 hours to play 9 holes. At the turn I asked for a rain check and management would not oblige. I was told that there was no one on the back and it shouldn't be slow. However the same groups that we were waiting for on the front 9 were still in front of us. Overall a terrible experience. Customer service is lacking and a rain check would have been the right thing to do.

I enjoy playing golf a Sterling hills in Camarillo. The new people in the golf shop are very friendly and greet you with a warm hello. The course is being maintained properly and the snack bar has good food and drink which is included in each round of golf. If you haven't played sterling hills recently give them a call

The course is in great shape now. Take any reviews around 2018 with a grain of salt. The course is leaps and bounds ahead of what it was. Pre 2018 the old owner really ruined a pretty golf course with the sub par care of the entire course. It took some time, but it worth playing now. One of the better deals in the Ventura area. I would not hesitate to play here again ( I am next week) and would definitely recommend this to golfers. 6800 from the Blacks 133 slope. Good test of golf. I am glad the new owners take care of the course now.

The new management team has really improved the course over the past two years. The greens are in great shape. They are constantly working on the fairways and other parts of the course. They treat me and my Saturday regulars like we're members of a private club. Great value!

The course is in fairly good condition and is great when it's not busy. The last time I was there the driving range could have used new sod. The practice green is always great, though.

Played today, July 2, with a Group (8 tee times) starting around 7:09 in really good spirits however, our group was treated with unnecessary rudeness by its employees especially by the starter and the person in the clubhouse. They're very unwelcoming, pushy and basically DISRESPECTFUL! I'll bring my game somewhere else, as I will NOT come back here anytime soon. Employees at the Cafeteria are the same, RUDE and unhelpful. Since, the menu changed from what were used to ordering from, the person who answered the phone literally told me to make up my mind, and call back because he is so busy and hung up the phone. Where is that damn CUSTOMER SERVICE? Hey, Management.talk to these people, as they badly need your help how to handle people NICELY and in a friendly manner.

Played today and received the worst treatment ever! The starter needs to learn customer service and just embrace diversity! YES - ASIAN Americans play golf! Don't want to use the race card but comments like "you guys" don't help! Hey management - you lost my business. Train your staff on how to treat customers or people well with dignity and respect!

We reserved 8 groups for 7:00 am start tee time and has text confirmation for the reservation. When we got to the first tee, the starter was rude when being asked about the conflict of the tee times and group numbers. He said that if we have an issue, we have to go back to the pro shop and tell them about it. We said, why can't you call that's why you have a radio.

He didn't want to call at first but finally decided to call the pro shop. The pro shop told the starter without finding out the root cause of the conflict, if the players have any problem with the tee times, they can go back to the pro shop and they will be refunded. This is not the kind of customer service we expect to receive. In addition, went to get a burrito to use the voucher part of the golf with lunch deal.

When i asked the person there, he gave me an attitude by saying rudely that we're not open yet. I was told by the clubhouse it was open before I went there. I just said, whenever you're ready I will come back to get my burrito. Bottom line, as a customer i don't need that kind of attitude response. He could have said, sorry we're not open yet in a nice way.

There is an old course marshal there that is so rude! He clearly doesn't like younger golfers, and he is incredible mean to beginner golfers. All he does is yell at you and say you don't know what you're doing. Instead of teaching he just yells. If you're a beginner stay away from this course and this crusty old jerk. You will just lose confidence. Wouldn't play here if someone paid me.

This course is amazing for the value. Cost 40 on a Sunday afternoon in February. Course is in great shape. Greens rolled nice. Pace of play moved along nicely, we played in just over 4 hours. Would definitely play again!

Beautiful course, staff was awesome. Will be coming back! The only thing is that some of the guest were playing all over the place. I'm ok when they go ahead of me, but it was just weird on how they did it. Looked to me they were probably residents to the course. Other than that we had a blast and will definitely visit again

Never again. The course management has no clue how to handle pace of play. Tee'd off yesterday 10 minutes late and the round took 5 hours and 40 minutes. The marshall claims the mens club had a morning event and they put the entire course behind. He claimed when he asked them to play faster they did not listen. If the mens club wants to make this a private club they should purchase the place.

This is not the first time the pace of play has been well over 5 hours put for me it will be the last time. The course is also in terrible condition with no grass in a lot of the fairways.

Found this course on GolfNow for a hot deal. It was fine, nothing spectacular. A lot of the fairways weren't in the best condition but the greens were nice. Pretty challenging with a good amount of water. Also my tee time was 12 but didn't get to tee off until almost 1 because they didn't have enough carts. Also a lot of old people playing extremely slow.

If you're in the area it's worth playing but I live in Los Angeles and drove an hour which wasn't worth it. But like I said, if you're in the Camarillo area it's worth checking out.

This place is great! The fairways are much better than before. You can see that they're working hard to get everything fixed. The greens are nice and clean! Food is amazing! Will definitely continue to golf here.

This is an absolutely beautiful club and course. The greens are so lush and were so fast the last time we were there. The course was a pretty tough one but fun none the less. There were so many people playing who'd remarked at how wonderful the course looks now. Had I not heard those remarks, I never would have known that the course was making a comeback.

The carts were in good shape and were free of damage or clutter. The driving range was so peaceful. I loved watching the butterflies flit about. My lil one liked to run back and forth trying to catch them. There was a special event taking place inside the main building and it was so beautifully decorated. I can see why people would host parties here.

The staff were so friendly and everyone was just so nice. I'd like to go back some other time and check it out again and see if there have been any other changes or improvements that I might notice. Oh, and did I mention? The rates are so reasonable. Awesome!

I've been wanting to play Sterling Hills for quite some time as I had heard good things about this place for a number of years. After my recent visit it appears I may have missed the the window of the good ole days as I found the course to be just a-ok. One of the best aspects of Sterling Hills is the course layout. The holes are challenging and fun.

I also like the length of the course as well and course management is key. There are numerous bunkers throughout the 18 holes but minimal water on only a select few holes. The major reason Sterling Hills gets dinged in my review is how dated it is. The carts are on the older side. They do have GPS but the system is dated and very basic. The 19th hole isn't much of a lounge.

Food options are pretty standard as well as the drink selections. Seating is minimal and overall the 19th hole is just not it's just not very inviting. Basically all of the amenities (besides the Grille which we did not explore) were decently functional and not very impressive. I'll likely come back to Sterling Hills again but I won't be clamoring to return in the near future. For the price I'd rather play either of the courses at River Ridge.
