In 1985 a man that went by the name Captain Lump saw an opportunity in the City of Chattanooga. An opportunity for a riverboat on the TN River! That riverboat he had envisioned would become one of the top attractions in Chattanooga and one of the top things to do in Chattanooga! Thus in 1985 The Southern Belle was born and built not but 20 miles downriver from where she sits now by Serodino Shipyards, and the rest is history!
The Southern Belle Riverboat started out with a simple vision, give a great guest experience of Chattanooga, show everyone the beauty of the river, and give everyone a different perspective of the city of Chattanooga. We are proud to say we cruise year-round and carry well over 100,000 passengers per year!
1.5 hour cruise. 45 minutes of live narration. Moon Pie included. See Chattanooga from the beautiful Tennessee River. The best sightseeing tour in all of Chattanooga. We were charged 19 percent tip because we had a group of 9 but never had any service. You have to go to the bar to order food. Go back to the bar to get any refills or utensils, etc. Waitress brought food and placed it on table and told us to figure out which burger was ours. I don't mind paying a good tip for good service but having to pay a required 19 percent tip up front resulted in no service whatsoever. Our whole group won't be back.

My girlfriend and I visited the 3rd Deck Burger Bar this past weekend. The staff was friendly, the food was delicious, and the view was beautiful. We also enjoyed a few games of ping pong and watched some football games on one of the many televisions on the deck. I recommend this place to anyone visiting the downtown Chattanooga Area.

On the out last night of our Labor Day weekend trip we decided to try out 3rd Deck Burger Bar. It ended up being just what we needed, the kids got to play with all of the various games available, run around a little and it gave the parents a nice break! Food was as expected but the friendly atmosphere by everyone working here was top tier. My only regret was not letting the kids look around the gift shop first, they were closed by the time we left. If you want a laid back dinner at a place the kids can have a little fun and you can have a cocktail, you should give it a try.

Great service. We were here walking in on Thanksgiving day 2020 and it was a no brainer to stay here a little while. Burger was huge and juicy meat. Fries are so yummy and not overly salty. Grilled cheese is full size for kids with fries. I ordered grilled chicken sandwich and it was a full chicken breast very tender. Price is great too. There are restrooms in this 3rd deck. Friendly staff from ground to the top floor. Beautiful view for sure!

The only thing interesting about the place is it is located on the third deck of a river boat, hence the name. Inside is kept up nice, but still a bar trying make it off the attraction of the other river boat that docks to it. The burger was nothing special. A bit pricey for what you get. The view on the outside deck is nice. A good place if you are going out just to grab a drink and move on to the next.
